    As someone who watches a lot of tech content, this video is great. I appreciate you actually making this video. It seems to be a topic that's less covered than it should be. As someone who has had a 12.9in ipad for about two years now, I've been considering getting a smaller iPad. The 12.9 is big and that's great for somethings, but for many other things, it's not. So I think that when people are shopping for these two iPad's this type of content is helpful and should be more prevalent because I don't think many people realize how BIG the 12.9 is in day to day use.
    Thanks again, keep up the good work. You got my Sub!

    I have my 12.9 iPad for 1.5 years now and all I can say is…12.9 all the way - Wouldn’t be able to do all the multitasking and drawings I do on an 11 inch iPad. 12.9 is actually very portable too so don’t worry about carrying it around as it’s perfectly fine! If you can afford it, go for the 12.9, you won’t regret it

    Great video! My 11 pro with the M2 processor comes in tomorrow. I first bought the air 5th generation but it has some glitches so I’m returning it and decided to go with the pro. I bought the air because my air 3rd generation lasted almost 5 years. I use mine mostly for social media, CZcams, emails and tv shows when my husband is watching on the tv. I find the 12.9 just too heavy. If I were to use one for my business, I would get the 12.9. But that’s what my laptop is for. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Portability is still there. The cost is a deep sigh but I save a lot of money on not having bad habits or make many ego purchases. I will also save $100 using an educational discount. I went back to grad school this year, and the 11" iPad Pro has been great for me. The use case where I have it in landscape mode, and split-screen it with GoodNotes on one side and an e-reader showing my text book or a lecture video on the other side was a game changer. So I figured if it was this good with the 11", the 12.9" has gotta be better, right? Well ... my 12.9" just arrived the other day and I'm starting to have second thoughts. I guess I underestimated just how much the 11's portability mattered to me.
    I think I might return the 12.9. It could be the kind of case I have on the 12.9 though. I'm using the same, rather thick, folio-style case that I have on the 11 only bigger. I just ordered one of those slim cases for the 12.9 and it should arrive tomorrow. I'll take the 12.9 through another study session with that case on and see how it goes.

      I returned the 12.9” and went back to my 11”. The 12.9” would’ve been ok if I’m mostly at a desk with it. But if you value portability more, then it’s the 11” all day.

      @@arcadiosincero what about writing on the 11 vs the 12? I find myself in a similar situation and want to return the 12.9 but I’m not sure how the taking notes experience would be affected by it, I mainly want to use it for note taking and uni

    • @arcadiosincero
      @arcadiosincero Před 7 měsíci +1

      So the 12.9” didn’t even give me more writing space in GoodNotes when used in the split screen layout. I still had to pinch-and-zoom a lot. It did give me about half a page more in the Kindle app while running side by side with GoodNotes (and using the same font size). However, that slight advantage wasn’t enough to overcome the downgrade in the portability experience for me.
      tbh, my advice would be to do what I did and test drive both and return the one that doesnt work for you. I know that might be cost prohibitive, but it’s really the only way to be sure as it’s a highly individual thing. I can only say for certain that it didn’t work for me.

    I am keen to get the 12.9 due to the screen - But the size is big. I don’t want the size of the tool to be a blocker to getting my ideas drawn down when I am out and about.
    So - My question is - did it take a while to get used to the 12.9 inch and having used it some now now - how do you generally find it’s portability when you’re out and about?

My intent is to use my Mac mini M2 as my main driver- but would like to use iPad as a device to write/edit code (I'm literally just starting this journey, so it would not be anything TOO intensive YET). I currently have a 4th gen iPad Air. I would like stage manager, and feel like I want to pass on the 5th gen air and go to the M2 versions. If it’s for professional use I’d think you’d want the bigger 12.9 but if it’s for a hobby I’d say the 11 should be enough.

    I just got the m1 ipad pro 12.9 but the blooming really bothers me so i’ve returned it .I was looking to get the m2 ipad pro 11 as i saw it doesn’t use the same mini led screen on the 12.9, is this correct ?

      Correct. The 11 inch doesn’t have the XDR display.

      @@StewdioGamer Ok.. here is a list of apps I plan to use.. Fender Play, its a guitar lessons created by Fender.. Gibson Guitar lessons app, Fender Tone, a app that allows you to change, edit and create effects and preset on my Fender GTX guitar amp.. Marshall Gateway, does the samething as the Fender tone but for Marshall Code 25 and 50 watt amps.. The Spark app, an app for the Positive Grid Spark modeling amp.. Katana Librarian and the Katana Air app, apps for the Boss Katana MKII guitar amps.. Mantis from the Laser Academy, an app used to dry fire indoor target practicing, this app utilizes the camera to stare and targets and keep score, and finally, Final Cut Pro... I have it on my mac mini but apparently I have to get another copy for the tablet.. so based on all of this, which would you go with, the 12.9 or the 11?

    do you suggest the ipad pro 12.9 for students? i want to buy one for taking notes , digital planning , reading etc but I’m a little bit confused should i get the bigger one to help me for multitasking or 11 inch for best Portability

    • @StewdioGamer
      @StewdioGamer  Před rokem

      My advice is if you have a laptop to do more of the assignments, homework, project work then go for the 11 inch. Makes more sense and for your use case the extra size and screen won’t matter as much. That’s my 2 cents 😃

      Big plus of the 12.9” is that you can have a textbook and notebook open at the same time without each window being way too small.

    Recently bought an 11 inch iPad Air M1 because iPads were on sale on Amazon, and that model was $650 for the 256gb one. I’ve sometimes wondered since if I should’ve bought a refurbished iPad Pro M1, 12.9 inch for only a couple hundred more.
    However, minor disadvantages of Amazon refurbished products aside, it’s really not an upgrade. Oh, the bigger battery, 120hz microLED display, and screen size are all objectively improvements, and that bigger display would be better for propping on a table for videos or using as a laptop or drawing, sure.
    However, the 11-inch iPads are *plenty* big for laptop-type usage, are easier to take with me if I need a laptop for a meeting, and small enough that I can comfortably carry it and type on it while using it for tablet things. Being significantly cheaper to buy new than last gen’s 12.9-inch pro refurbished cinched it for me, but honestly I think if cost wasn’t a factor and I could trade my iPad Air M1 for an iPad Pro 12.9 M2 right now, I wouldn’t. And considering that iPad Air goes on deeper and more frequent sales, I saved $500 comparing brand-new to brand-new rather than brand-new to last-gen refurbished.

    In practice, the 11’ model actually has proven to be superior in battery life. That being said, most people are going to be more comfortable with what they’re use to.
    I’ve been on the 12.9 pro for a few years, and I’ll never go back, the 11’ just seems too small for me now. Conversely, many who use a regular iPad feel the 12.9 is just oversized. It’s entirely subjective.

    The 12.9” size is also much better for digital comics and digital magazines..I think having inferior LCD display on the 11” Pro model at that price range is unacceptable.
    buy either the “real” 12.9” Pro with mini LED display or just buy the 11” iPad Air with M1 processor.

    • @StewdioGamer
      @StewdioGamer  Před 11 měsíci

      The 12.9 is probably one of my favorite tech products I own so I won’t disagree with that suggestion. Idk if I can get behind the Air even with the M1 that price doesn’t make sense for only 64GB. Just depends on your use case though!

      Either can possibly work it just depends on what you need to use it for. The larger iPad will be easier just because of the size but for some less mobile. I’d suggest getting to a store and comparing them in person.
