I had made some of these with pictures for my sister as a gift. But I just put the rubber sticky things on the bottom of them. I love the cork idea and I love the idea of folding the paper under! I have to make some more of these!
Love these! Love the blue and white. I bought a set from a craft fair about 10 years ago. I paid $20.00 for a set of 4 Chicago Bears ones for my husband!
Great idea! These would be great paired up with some serving trays I did. Thanks for sharing Deanna 💕 awww you and your hubby are so cute, love that he is so supportive and does this with you, from making you thinhs to helping you find them ans the best deals😍
It depends on your cost of supplies. Let's just round everything up to $1. So, 4 tiles $1, paper $1, cork $1, two types of glue $1, a couple coats of sealer $1. That's $5 for supplies. It doesn't count selling fees, if any. So, if you sold a set for $10, you would net $5. I'd sell them for more. If you sell on Etsy, include an additional 17% of the selling price as a cost also.
I made a set of coasters using copies of old black and white photos of my brother when he was a kid instead of paper. He absolutely loved them. Easy to do and and fun to make. I've been thinking of using some scrap pieces of cotton fabric instead of paper. A way to use up some of my scrap bits of fabric.
I LOVE this idea! And your navy and white paper is my favorite color combo! You could even put you vinyl monogram on one of them! Happy weekend! God Bless y’all. 😘
I saw these today at Bed Bath and Beyond for $ 14.99 for a set of 4 wrapped with a pretty ribbon. I was looking at them and thinking gees I can make these and sell at a craft fair I come home and you have a video!
Thanks for a great idea x I've been looking for a coaster for myself for a while, now I can make my own. You're so inspirational just love your ideas x x
My husband and I go together for pedicures also. When my daughter and her boyfriend came to visit we all went together. It was fun. I love this project!
Deanna you are sooooo talented. I love watching your videos as you give me so much inspiration. Thank you so much for all that you share. Love from the U.K. xxx
Ty very much. I can't find tiles or so called fake titles to go with my wine grape vine decor so you gave me an idea that why not design my own and out them up. Ty luv ya Traci
Hi Deana, So happy you and hubby treated yourself! Yes, Keep going! What a fun couple thing to do. I made these before, but for some reason they don't hold up to moisture. Hope you have lots of success with yours, they are adorable!
These are gorgeous! I do these using napkins. I am planning on putting them in my ETSY store for $12. I wish I could post pic's but oh well. I am going to try it with the cardstock now, I love your technique!
Omg...great minds think alike. Went to a yard sale n picked up 44 4x4 tiles for 3 bucks. I thot about free handing on some. Mayb stamp on some. But imma try doing some of them this way. Poor as a church mouse but also found a gal of elmers for a buck so making my own modge podge. Love the sealer idea. Not sure what ill use for the stamp n painted ones to seal but ill b looking around. Lol. Was thinking $10 a set of 4 would b a fair price so ur pricing is a go. Thanks for the new idea..🌹❤
Hi Deanna! Love your coasters! I sell these every year at $8.00 for a set of four and they are a great addition to craft fairs. Hope they do well for you too! Rebecca
These are very pretty. I’ve had a hard time finding a really good sealer. I’ve tried the modpodge spray, I’ve tried different ones from Walmart. I actually found a sealer in the automotive section at Walmart its heat resistant to 2000 degrees F. I got it because I drink lots of coffee and wanted something I could put a hot cup on. It seems to work better than all the others I used.
Hi Deanna. Hoping you're having a great holiday weekend. These are gorgeous. I think if go $10.00 on these, at least that's what I'm going to start mine out with when I make them. Deanna, if like to take them time to tell you thank you. Not only do you give us great ideas for our craft fairs, you do it in such a way that it's easier to understand. You have a soothing voice. You're so encouraging and full of enthusiasm. You've been so inspiring to me. Deanna. I asked you to start doing stuff with your cricut and that you did. I'm happy to say that after months of having mine and being afraid of it once I got it, I finally started using mine this weekend. My daughter is putting in a nice little party got her two year old. It's going to be Mickey Mouse theme, so I thought I'd give it a try and see what I could make with this wonderful machine. I loved using it so much, that I stayed up all night playing with it and didn't go to sleep until 9ish in the evening. It's still a learning process for me, but that's how I've done things always. A little bit of trial and error. I've got all of these little pieces to puzzle together today while she takes his older brother and sister to Cedar Point with her dad. I'm so excited and live doing this. Deanna, thank you so much for your inspiration and making me want to be a better crafter. You've showed us all how to make so many things.i try making most of everything you show us and honestly I'm not even sure exactly what I want to take with me yet. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I love the paper you used. I was wondering if you thought the thinner paper would work as well or if it wouldn’t hold up to all the Mod Podge etc. I just have so much of that quality paper that I’d love to use up! Thanks for the video and the follow up one on the sealer! I can’t wait to make some for myself.
Watching this in Dec 2021; love your coasters!! You asked about pricing… If you went to a heat proof lacquer spray for the top and skipped the Mod Podge, you could sell these for probably $15-$16 for a set of four. Especially if they’re nicely presented. But, if you MP the the top and then seal with MP spray sealant, they’re not heat proof. So, you’d might need to lower the price to about $12. Polyvine is a great heat proof formula or you can use high heat clear engine enamel. Keep in mind that there are several formulas of the Polyvine. The ideal one has 3 shells on the front label. But, I have the formula with 1 shell and it’s still heat proof. It’s just very thick. So, you have to spread slowly and thinly. Most in my group are switching to the clear lacquer spray. Has a good hard finish and is heat proof. Costs only about $4 a can . Way cheaper than Polyvine. But remember, if you choose to use the clear lacquer, you don’t need to MP a top coat. Just a few coats lacquer. Really appreciate this great video. Nobody has shown how to cover the edges. Gives a much nicer , finished look. Hope you have more videos. Looking forward to watching them. You’re very sweet; God bless 💕
Cute, not sure if your reading comments or just hearting them. noticed many u liked but no response Might not be a concern but sound was issue. often and I needed to replay sections over n over to understand what you were saying. just a mention for future recordings 8 )
I love Mod Podge, but everything I have read says it does not work well for this project. Especially if tge coasters are used for coffee cups. The heat melts it and causes it to stick :-(
Really like the way it came out...how did you do at the craft fair with this?..did you get to sell the 5 set? Looking to make some...but dont know if the tile should be ceramic or wood...please advise what's better 😊, thanks a million.
Deanna your husband seems to be a very caring guy. When you make your crafts? How many do you push out and then go on to another project. These turned out very well. I'm going to try these. TFS jen in south Dakota.
Hey Deanna! I think $10 is an OK price for these kind. If you are making themed ones or ones with pictures on them I would charge more. Here I see these kind regularly for $12 for a set of 4. I was thinking of making these in a specialty theme (music, album covers) and sell them for $12 for a set of 4. Hope you are having a good week!
When I sold his last year my next door neighbor is a carpenter and he made small wooden blocks and put for round pegs on there and you could sit the four between the pegs and with his wooden stand and my coasters we sold them for $7 I made 10 and I did not have any but one lady said the coaster holder made all the difference for her because it look like a cute little sets
I'm finding this a "little bit" later... wondering if you had any further luck with testing of the sealer? I saw one comment that said they found it doesn't work well for coffee mugs and the heat. I also saw the other mention the Rustoleum High Heat in automotive. Just wondering if you tested that out at all? Friends have been getting together for a craft night once a month and I think this could be a fun craft for us, but want to make sure to give the best tips for making them as possible. Thanks Deanna!
I have had that happen to me at Menards on canning jars, they has 480 cases but couldn't find them. The manager too my phone number and called me the next day apologized they were put up on a shelving with wrong tag wrote on outside. So we went back and got 100 cases. I wish my hubby would get a pedicure with me!
Hi Deanna, you did an amazing job. These are absolutely beautiful. Good instructions. Thank you for sharing your time.
Great idea! I love the paper. Thanks Deanna for another great tutorial!
I was just getting ready to make coasters for the first time and I am glad I watched this. I love the idea of wrapping the edges too.

Hi, I love that you went around the edges, can't wait to try.😁
I had made some of these with pictures for my sister as a gift. But I just put the rubber sticky things on the bottom of them. I love the cork idea and I love the idea of folding the paper under! I have to make some more of these!

He is! I love him

I love the idea of folding down the sides.

I can’t wait to see how you package these.
Great idea👍🏽
Great video. They are very elegant. I have been making some over the past month for a craft show also and decided to charge $10 for a set of four.
Be sure to try them out first with a iced tea, so that you can ensure they will hold up to a sweating beverage.
Love them xo
So nice!

Aww thank you! You can do anything you put your mind too!
Beautiful they are pretty
You can buy cork squares on Amazon that have adhesive on back.
They are cute thanks from Mineola, Tx.
Hey Mineola! I have been through there many times!
@@CraftyCraftsByDeanna I have been watching all of your ideas and love love love them all I to going to start doing craft fairs wish me luck 😆❤👍
Great idea! I love them! 💕😍
Beautiful paper great project.
I would think 8.00 to 10.00. What a great project TFS
Thank you
Thanks, Deanna. I was thinking about doing these with fabric instead of paper. I think $10 for a set of 4 is a good price.
i did fabric and it works great!!
Thanks for sharing with us. Deloma
I do this! I made my hubby a set for his birthday. But I used cutouts from old (non collectible) comic book.
Awesome thank you ♥️♥️♥️
I love the paper you used. So pretty!I would say $6-$7 is fair! $8 max.
i love making coasters too, but Home Depot has a roll of cork with adhesive, so mush easier. Looks good!
Where in the store is the rolled cork located?
hobby lobby also, about 4.00 for a roll.
I agree. $8-$10.
These are very nice, I bought some tiles at Home Depot for .08 cents and .018 at lowes.
I love mod podge it dries clear the seals well all i use the glue not the spray
I am talking about the spray, wal mart sells it a lot cheaper...😊
No less than $5-6 a set. I like the paper going over the edge instead of seeing the white.
these are very pretty love the paper you used $ 10 sounds fair
Thank you

Gorgeous maybe $10
I love Mod Podge, but everything I have read says it does not work well for this project. Especially if tge coasters are used for coffee cups. The heat melts it and causes it to stick :-(
I put ribbon around mine and seal with the modge podge. I have charged 15 to 20 dollars for custom work on the tiles.
Really like the way it came out...how did you do at the craft fair with this?..did you get to sell the 5 set? Looking to make some...but dont know if the tile should be ceramic or wood...please advise what's better 😊, thanks a million.
Hi, beautiful work on these. Dose the spray make them waterproof?
JONI FOOTE yes it seals them
I think that is a great price
$10 is a great price
10 dollars is a good price!
Gorgeous papers. Beautiful project. Very sweet husband to go have a pedicure with you. Feet health is very important!😎
I use polycrylic to seal mine. I also sell mine for $10 at craft shows. I sell many of these and I easily get the $10.
Price really depends on area,,here in Indiana I think $6-$8 would be best,,
Love these Deanna. Are they waterproof?
I have put a sealer on them

Great. Job. I am new to crafting. This paper seems thick. What is it called ?
Hi! Loved your video. Can you say again where I can order the paper you used? It actually looks like a thin cardboard...
Tuesday Morning
Loved this idea. Can you tell me the name of the thing you used to score the edges? Thanks!!
