PAPER PUMPKIN: www.stampinup.com/ecweb/Defau... - Jak na to + styl
Very beautiful. I am SO glad you get $1.00 a piece for your magnets. I tried to sell them for $1.00 and I only sold 15 out of 150.
When I started selling them for 2 for $1.00 I sold more...but I really sold alot when I packaged them in pkgs of 6 for $5.00. I sold over 50 pkgs and I promoted them as teacher and friendship gifts. I guess you can never tell! The basket idea is a great one! Great tutorial!
Great job Brenda. Having a buy 6 for $5 has brought me more sales.
I just got to say, I had a good chuckle when you said something along the lines of and for guys I make trees....it is so true. I am enjoying your videos. Thank you.
Thanks!
Thanks Karen - great idea and so fun! So many ideas flowing now...
great to hear. Thanks for watching Linda.
Great idea! I can see how these would be a great add on to a sale. And gifting-super! Thanks Karen a job well done.
The magnets are generally my number 1 seller.
These magnets are beautiful...TFS your process and for the craft fair tips on pricing and table placement!
your welcome!
You need to make sure you glue the none grab side of the magnet. I use a safety pen to check the magnet.
What do u mean, I'm making some, would really wanna know
Awesomeness, I’ve been wondering how to make those. I’ve bought a few for $1 each. Thank you soooo much for your time. Blessings n Hugz!
thanks for watching Bonnie
Beautiful magnets. Excellent start to finish tutorial. Thank you. Wishing you a super week. Hugs Susan
Thank you
Very nice love your magnets TFS!!❤️
Thank you!
Thanks Karen, I always enjoy your videos. I am going to try these.
Thank you Alberta.
What a wonderful project! Thank, you for sharing your process.
Thank you so much!
Your magnets are beautiful!!! I am going to do my first craft fair in a few weeks and I am definitely going to do these. I also love
how you let the customer pick out their own magnets if they are buying 6. Price sounds perfect. Thank you. Have a great night
Thank you Robin; best of luck to you.
so many ideas! thank you so much! these are beautiful!
thank you
Thank you for sharing, so pretty and so easy. Thank you!
Glad you like it!
I love making these magnets. I recently started making them using maps and road atlases. Thank you for sharing!
Great idea Nancie. I have never tried maps/atlases. I'll give it a try net time.Thank you.
Karen McNall you're welcome!
What an awesome idea with the maps!
I was literally garage sale-ing this past weekend and scored a brand new 16 oz pkg of those clear gems for $.25 cents and a lady gave me a mega stack of Michigan state and county maps for free.
I was going to toss the bulk of the maps (which I hated to do), but don't have to now.
Perfect for my new geocaching hobby (modern digital app assisted treasure hunt) and making custom swag to trade.
Thank you so very much. They are beautiful. Going to give it a try. Would be a great fundraiser for elementary school as a sweet tiny gift for a friend. Love from Debbie and Dexter-Dog my precious rescued Chihuahua companion living a quiet crafty life in southern California. 🙏👍🏄🏡🚴🐰🐤🐦😄💝
Wonderful! Most of my customers that purchase the magnets are children. You should do well. Thanks for watching
This is the "how to" I've been searching for. I'm doing a little project turning my friend's artwork into gem magnets. Lots of great tips in your video. Thanks 👍🤓

The gems I purchased and used were from 2019. Here is a link I would try, but experiment using a 1" punch: amzn.to/462Q8vp
Fabulous! Just made My first production of 22!!! Worked Perfectly! Thank you! From Montreal, Canada.
Fantastic!
Rub some Vaseline in the threaded part of your glue tube tp prevent it from sticking.
Thank you for the recommendation. I will give it a try.
Love this what a wonderful idea for a gift for a friend
thanks for watching Terri
Cute idea! Love your tutorials♥️
thank you Ady
This is a great tutorial. The tip about cleaning them is golden!! Thanks a million.
Glad it was helpful!
I like the idea of using stickers to make magnets for the stickers. Thanks for sharing!
It definitely satisfies the younger shoppers.
What a great idea to appeal so many ages!
Beautiful, thank you!⚘
thanks for stopping by
Clear non yellowing nail polish works well, and Less mess, and I think they seal better, put liberally on back of gem and sit on design and let dry.
that's great to know; haven't heard of this. May give it a try. Thanks for the advice.
Lovely idea.
Thank you! 😊
Very beautiful u do amazing work u r a wonderful crafter u give me inspiration ideas I'm going to give it a try
Thank you Linda.
Nice video. Thank you for sharing.i am from Vermont too. Now live across the bridge in New York...
That's awesome! Hoping Spring/Summer arrives soon, right? It's too darn cold. Thanks for watching!
Your information and presentation are extremely well done. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful! Thank you.
Great tutorial. Thanks!
Thanks.
Thanks very beautiful magnets
Glad you like them! Thank you.
You didn’t say where you got the magnets. I saw somebody use tiny magnets, but I like yours better. This was a good, thorough instruction, with lots of tips for selling, and pricing. Thank you! I subscribed 👍
I have found them at Walmart or Michaels.
Very nice - Brava😀 I like the assembly line approach. Keep up the good videos ...you're tutorials are excellent!!! I'm subscribed and have shared ...thank you💕💕💕
Thank you for your comments and subscribing. My work life has been a bit hectic and also craft room revisions have kept me away from videos. Hope to be back in January. Thanks for your patience.
Awesome ❤
🙌
Just found you. I love your work. Blessings
Thanks!
Enjoyed this very much! Thank you! Next time could you zoom out a bit? You were half off the bottom left corner of my screen quite a bit. Thankfully, you explained so well that I feel like I completed understand. Gosh, imagine the inventory you'd have it you did this regularly from now until fall show season!
Hi Marilyn. I apologize for the "off camera" I did not notice until it was a bit too late. I don't edit my videos but am happy that I gave a good explanation. My tally from last year was 232 magnets sold.
Love these I made some but have sold all of them there women paper collection ... these are nice TFS
Thanks for watching. Best of luck
My whole bag from dollar tree have cracks in the glass. So bummed. I will try Michael's. Thanks for the video
I'm sorry to hear that Sharon. I've had success with them. Let me know how the ones from Michael's turns out.
I'm thinking if I'll save more money by using my resin mix that I got from Home Depot and just create my own. I create a lot different kinds of nagnets but haven't thought about just using paper. Cool! Thank you for the idea. :)
I hope you were able to give it a try.
Put a little bit of oil around threads and makes it easier to open and shut
Ive used a tiny bit of vaseline works great👍
Thank you for sharing
My pleasure
awesome video, thanks
thanks for your comment and for watching.
Very pretty magnets I wish more of your video had actually been on camera as I couldn’t see what you were describing.
Sorry about that Sheila. Hopefully you were still able to follow along. Email me at inspiredbygram@gmail.com if you have any questions at all or comment. here.
Very nice video friend !¡.😃👍
Thank you 👍
My granddaughter and I make and sell magnets at craft fairs . She loved to do the Disney characters. Thanks for the tip on cleaning them, using double sided paper, adding modge podge to the back, and using E6000 to add the magnets.
Your welcome Ann. Great that you are able to share your craft ideas with your granddaughter!
Pretty
thank you
Where do you get the magnets?
I’m sorry if you mentioned it and I missed it.
Love this ideas going to try it!
Thanks
The magnets are purchased at Walmart or Michael's (with a coupon).
These are very pretty. Can you advise what you are using for your display to hold the magnets?
Hi Charlene. The board is a dry erase magnetic board. Works great and comes in white.
Don't know if this helps but I find if I have old material scraps with flowers or a interesting pattern it too can make a nice magnet.
Yes that works. I’m looking at doing different mediums
Yours are beautiful!! I have bought muy supplies to make for family and friends. I have made one but once everything dried you could see the darkness of the magnet from the front side. I used reg. typing paper that had pretty angels. Should it be heavier weight paper?
Yes copy paper is too light weight. I use the Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper.
Karen this is one I'm going to try at my craft fair booth. I've never made magnets before. Also what about paper weights? Could you do the same principle? TFS jen in south Dakota.
Jennifer Toupal magnets help off set my booth fees
Amazing, best best Jobs ever !!!!!!🌟 I make it for Halloween !!!!!!!!! Mary Germany🕷️🕸️🎃🦇🦅thank you 🍀
Thanks for watching. Please post what you create.
The scrap paper will be good in shaker magnets
I'm not sure what a shaker magnet is. I'll have to look that up.
Do you wrap or package the gems once your customers check out? I know you let them pick their magnets but I worry about them clinking together and breaking if they're just dropped in a bag.
Yes, I wrap them in tissue paper
These are so pretty. So, I went to Dollar Tree and bought 2 bags of the stones (so happy that I didn't buy more) and out of the two bags, I got 13 magnets. 23 of the stones were broken or shattered and were unusable. I live in a somewhat rural area and don't have a Michaels here, so not sure what to do now. I am making ceramic coasters and wanted to make the magnet sets to match, Not too sure what to do now.
I'm sorry to hear that Cindy. I really haven't had much problem with the DT brand. Here is a link to a brand from Michael's. You could order online. www.michaels.com/clear-mosaic-glass-gems-by-artminds/10286301.html
I make these too. I'm having trouble finding the larger glass ones??
Michaels or Dollar Tree is where I find them. Check the description box of the video. The brand name is there.
What is that white board that you keep your magnets on?
its a magnetic dry erase board
I love your video and techiques. I wish some of it had not been off camera, but it was good, nevertheless.
me too Susan. Thanks for watching though.
Cute... I have seen others in previous years make these, and I"ve done some myself for gifing when I am contracting and working onsite, along with a few other office type things that are usually seen as drab but I decorate them and make them fab... and the end, of your video I was thinking... ha! Her magnets are magnetizing to her audience... at the fair toward her little magnets. Oh, I wanted to ask... what size are these? My Dollar Tree used to have just small ones and big ones, but now they got one that is kind of in between these two sizes, but the bags are not marked as Large or Medium or small glass gems.
the gems from Dollar Tree packaging do not give a size, but I use a 1 1/4 inch circle punch and that fits almost exact.
What is the best magnet that will be strong enuf to hold the weight of the gem?
I use the "button" style.
Just wondered how big are the glass pebbles
I use a 1 1/4" circle punch and lines up with the glass
Thanks for such a great detailed video! Never saw or heard what size are the glass gems?
1 or 1 1/2 inch? Or maybe 1 1/4? Thanks?😊
I use a 1 1/4 inch circle punch, and at times, need to trim a little excess paper off.
Do you really have to wait a day between papering the gem and applying the magnet? Do you strongly feel that you need to wait longer than the dry time for the 2 coats of Mod Podge before adhering the magnet? Thanks in advance!
I do, only because the temperature of my house runs on the cooler side.
Those are so cool! I tried to make some and the paper can just peel right off of the gems after they dry and after the 2 coats. Would you know how to fix that problem? Otherwise great tutorial!
Brinley Gandin it May be the paper you are using? Some paper has multiple layers. I’ve never had that happen so it’s my only thought.
Ok I will tryout different papers. Thanks for the suggestion.
@@brinleygandin7201 did you ever try other paper? I printed some cutesy avocado figures on white cardstock to make teacher gifts and when I modge podge them on they peeled right off the next day. :/
I would like to make these magnets but can’t find the 1 1/4” circle punch. Is it a retire punch ?
Hi Lori. Yes, the 1 1/4 inch circle punch has retired. However, you may wish to try the 1" circle punch, Item #119868 or the 1 1/8" scallop circle punch, Item #146138. let me know if you give it a try
Wow,do these really work on refrigerater?😁
I do not have an issue with them not staying on a refrigerator. Children also like to use them for their school lockers.
Those look enormous compared to the little ones from DT.
Not really; they are close in size.
I'm thinking they no longer sell the ones you used. Because all they sell now are about the size of slightly squished marbles.
What do you do with the glass stones that are not really clear? I have found a lot of those and the if you put an image on the back, it is not reflected near as well as the really clear one.
You have to make sure you get the totally clear ones. They come in clear...light light green tint...and light light blue tint. I have found you have to use very bright images with the green and blue ones.
Hi Denise. I only use clear stones. Use disinfectant wipes to clean them.
@@brendakirby2186 Thank you.
I'm new to cabochons. What do you do to prevent the silvery specs when you glue the glass to the paper? They're driving me insane.
I have never had this issue. It must be the quality.
Where did you find your circle punch and what is the brand name
The punch is a 1 1/4 Stampin' Up! punch, which is now retired.
I bought a set from amazon it was the gem
Plus the magnet together 24 for 9.99 was that a good deal
Or
Maybe I should buy separate
I guess it all depends on what you are selling for. 42 cents each is what the math is.
Hi I also found Jumbo size on Joanns for $6.00 420z.
I have found the glass gem, or whatever you want to call them, at Joanns as well.
Where do you get the sheets of paper that had the roses you were cutting out
Hi Gloria. I use Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper. Here is my link to my store to check the patterns out. There are so many that you will probably want all of them! www.stampinup.com?demoid=2229764
Yours looks so much bigger than mine are those dollar tree thanks
Yes they are, however they sell various sizes at my local store. You need to find the ones that are large. These are 1" in diameter. They sell 1/2" as well.
Karen, where do I get a 1.25" circle punch?
I purchased it from Stampin' Up! many years ago. Although we do not carry circle punches now, you can simply use the Layering Circles Dies and stack about 3-5 scraps of DSP and die cut three to five at a time. Super easy.
love this idea... wish you had backed up a bit, so that we could see more of what you were doing... tfs...
Katherine; I apologize for that; had no idea I was a bit off camera. There are more pictures on my blog.
I agree, she was a little off center on camera. Otherwise great demonstration. Thanks.
I enjoyed the closeup shots as your video was the clearest and best tutorial I have seen...great job!
Love this idea but find that most of these stones have too many imperfections. I only get 5-8 that I can use per pack.
Sometimes the imperfections make a nice magnet. Try different types of papers
@@karenmcnall I have, thanks.
Hi. Do you have an item number for the circle punch? I didn’t see that size when I checked the Stampin Up page. Thank you for the video. I am very excited to make these.
Hi Susan. SU retired the 1 1/4 circle punch. I would suggest using the 1” circle. 119868 Is the item number
Thank you for replying. I will go with your recommendation. Glad I stumbled upon your channel. I really enjoy it. Thanks for the time and making the videos.
Thank you Susan. Just wished I had more time in the day to be more consistent with videos.
How do you protect the paper from getting wet?
The ModPodge seals the paper.
What size magnets did you use?
These are purchased at Michael's or Walmart, depending on where they are priced cheaper.
The package says Magnetic Buttons, 52 Buttons, Horizon Group Inc., Item 16803E
Hello Karen what are the size of the magnets you use. Thank you they are all very nice. Anita
They are just over 1" wide. Thank you for watching.
I found some printed paper at Hobby lobby and when I adhere the mod podge to the paper it dries but then I can see little shadows of the spots and I have to redo it why is that happening I use e6000 glue
I believe its the quality of the paper you are using. Make sure you brush the mod podge so it's smooth as well.
Instead of using mod podge have you tried using double-sided adhesive
I haven't but I would think it would be too time consuming, plus the edges would be hard to secure and you need the edges to be secured or the paper will eventually come off over time.
Thanks for this video. I am going to try this. I have a craft fair this weekend. I will let you know how the glass magnets sell. Also, I am doing your mini post-it notes cover. Love this project and they come out so cute. Who would not want to buy them!!! Thanks for the selling tip. How did your craft fair go???
your welcome Debra. The travel to the craft fair was a bit crazy with some wild winter weather that was a bit unexpected. However, my sales were a bit better than last year even with the customer base traffic down.
What else do you make and sell?
Hi there. I have plenty of videos from my Craft Fair Series 2019, 2020. Check out my playlists.
How much do you sell them for?
These have been popping up a lot in my reccomendations. LOL Think it and youtube will suggest it. They are cute and look super easy to make. I dont think they would sell well in my area for $1 a piece ..2/$1 would go over well but i would still prepack them up. I would be more worried about them growing legs and wandering off. I have had ppl steal thiings from a yard sale .. weird bigger things like pots and pans or the super cheap quarter junk. . These are too easy to slip into a pocket or for kids to just pick up and walk off with (kids are never really the theives...its the adults ) ...Rather take time to package like ones in maybe groups of 4 to 6 and chances are they may sell better since there might be those one or two in each pack they want...If someone asks nicely i would switch them out if not busy. Extra plus..no need to take time to wrap them so they dont break. just hand them to them prebagged.
Markets are always different. Mine sell very well, especially 6 for $5. I like to allow people to select the ones they want. I've never had an issue with theft. The magnets are about two feet from me so I keep a close eye on them. Sorry you have had issues with theft. People need should be kind and trustworthy.
Hello love your creation’ where can I find that hole puncher or what’s the correct name of it maybe I can type it in Amazon search bar ?
I used a 1 1/4" circle punch
Fiska makes a 1.25
Where do you get your images from to use?
I use my pretty designer series paper from Stampin' Up!
I make these but when the glue dries you can tell and see it through the glass. I have tried different glues and I still see where some of the glue distorts the image a little. Not sure how to explain it. Do you ever have that issue? Maybe I’m too picky.
Hi Nancy. I haven't had that issue. I wonder if you are putting too much Mod Podge on?
I was just thinking the same thing - too much mod podge, you just need enough to swipe the back of the glass stone, doesn't take much at all... in fact I think the sponge sucks up most of the modpodge when I use it.
Karen McNall thank you. I barely use that much. I have tried different brushes and no luck. I still can see where the glue dried. I try and get all the air bubbles out so maybe I just need to stop being so picky.
@@nancymarkham2924 I wonder if its the type of paper you are using? The weight; too thin? Too thick?
I think the lighter designs on paper don't work as well and that's the only time I have had issues.
Eu sou do Brasil que tipo de cola é esta mod podge
Tacky glue will work as well
Have you had issue with copyright? Especially that Disney and superhero stuff??
I actually do not use those characters anymore. Just pretty paper. Those sell better.
What do you sell them for
It’s in the description box. That was over four years ago. I would need to re-evaluate
What is the size of the glass bead?
The paper is 1 1/4 circle and the glass is just slightly larger.
Thank you for responding to my question. Love your
Illustrations
how about centering the work you are doing! all I see is your work on the lower right corner or off site.
Lovely, but you sell disney licensed magnets???!!!
Not anymore.
Mod podge what ia this
it's a type of adhesive that dries clear
love watching all the crafts but..just camera is a little too close ,you kept going off screen .for me
Sorry about that Terry. Hopefully you were able to fully understand even off camera. Email me if you have further questions; inspiredbygram@gmail.com
I love all of your magnets! But why do you call it Modge Podge??? Its MOD Podge!!! I noticed that somebody else commented on this too!
my apologies
Show the back of them please
Hi Shirley. I'm not able to re-create a video, however, the only item on the backside is the magnet.
