Thattekad bird sanctury is located in Ernakulam district, Kerala. It is the first bird sanctury in kerala covers an area of just 25 square kilometers. The bird sanctury is named after famous ornithologist Dr. Salim Ali and itbis one of the richest bio diversity area in India. The sanctury is home to more than 280 species of birds, 34 species of mammals and different species of reptiles and fishes.
October to march is the best time to visit the sanctury. The trekking is for 3 hours and rate is Rs.500/person. Please start the trek at 7am to witness best bird activities.
