  • Vellagavi is a village in kodaikanal which can be accessed only by foot. A medium trek of 6 kilometers from vattakanal will take you to this tranquill village. If you start early from vattakanal you can trek back on the same day, but we reccomend camping in the village . The people consider the village as sacred and they don't wear footwears in the village. The region was inhabited around 300 years ago, even before kodaikanal and also called as Old Kodai. The people are so friendly and many of them welcomed us to their homes and offered coffee. We stayed at Eagle's nest vellagavi which has a great view and located around 1 km before vellagavi village. Its a highly recommended place for nature lovers and trek enthusiasts.
🥤 Do try locally grown coffee from village and avacado shake from any shop on the way😋.
