Hollywood's Mark Ruffalo calls for a ceasefire at The DGA Awards

- Mark Ruffalo has called for a ceasefire at the DGA awards and says “We’re not going to bomb our way to peace.”
Though The Hulk actor mistakenly cited that there were 2,700 Palestinians dead (he meant more than 27,000 - ed.), he was passionate about calling for peace.
He said: “We’ve come to understand this bombing isn’t working, we’re not going to bomb our way to peace, and all we’re saying is, what’s wrong with giving a ceasefire a chance?
"We have a million refugees on the border of Rafah right now, who are looking at another bombing surge, and we have 400,000 people starving to death right now, without any humanitarian aid being able to get in there."
He added: "So we’re asking the leaders of the world, especially President Biden, to demand a ceasefire, a lasting ceasefire, and give peace a chance instead of just a continued bombing, the escalation of violence and what will soon become a regional war that America will be dragged into.”

If you want to get specific, it’s probably twice that of Palestinians and a lot of the American public have been dragged into it. He’s brave for speaking up.

And there are other SAG Artists with him who like he, are not jewish. His family is spread out through the middle east so this makes sense. He needs to speak more, with his platform about Hamas, the risks, who will protect and make sure they are t re-arming and being housed by the people they govern. Some (would like the percentage..) Palestinians were living above them with them while these attacks were planned.
Whomever speaks of ceasefires it would be helpful if they also stayed the risks. This was a major attack Hamas began and did it gleefully.

Just when I thought I couldn't love Mr. Mark Ruffalo, more than I already do, he goes and talks about giving Peace a chance. Mr. Ruffalo, I first saw you in a Due South Episode back in the 90s when I was in University and I have always admired and liked you for the person you are and all the wonderful characters you have played in all your movies. I'm one of your biggest fans and I cannot thank you enough for your kind and wise words. As someone who became a war refugee back in the 80s and moved to Canada to escape the horrors of war, I wanted to say your words mean so much to all war refugees around the world. I hope the Western leaders hear your comments and move forward with Peace plans in Middle East. Oh and by the way, I'm Persian, I became a war refugee during the Iran-Iraq war. The first night Iraqis bombed my city, Tehran, I was 9 years old, the bomb hit an area called Zafar, which was 15km north of my house. The force of impact knocked me out of my bed and the sound of Siren still echoes in my head. I still have nightmares, I cannot imagine what the Palestinians are going through. My thoughts and prayers are with them. May God keep them safe.
