- In this video I give you my thoughts on why I'm switching to lake shoes.

I just did exactly the same thing. I'd been using the Bont Riots for a few years but lately felt my left foot getting numb during a ride. I don't have a wide foot but so many cycling shoes seem to be too narrow. I deciced to look around for a new shoe and tried on the CX242 wide. They feel so comfortable right from the beginning. I went from a size 42 on the Bont to a 41 on the Lake. In fairness the Lake is a far more expensive shoe than the Riot.
Had the gravel version and after a while I would only ride my gravel bike so I just bought the road version. Went for 150 k ride and forgot to monitor the new shoes. Forgot they were on. Fantastic for wide feet with a bunion.

I just upgraded to the CX242s from the CX241s. Huge improvement!
What makes them a huge improvement? Having the cx241 too but heelcup is top big/wide. Even after molding

Great video. May i ask what is the size of your Bont shoes versus your Lake shoes? Are both wide version? I think I'm in a similar situation. I have a Bont riot (wide) size 46.5 which i feel is too long for my feet. I will get numbness on the last 3 toes of my left foot and hot spot under my right feet metatasal after an hour of riding. I feel that the shoes is too long and too narrow for me. I have recently ordered a lake cx238 (wide), but size 45.5 online. i hope it is the right size for me as im still waiting for the delivery.
I had the riot road + wide fit in a 44
The lanes are a 43.

@@leedorney amazing! Best choice I’ve ever made on shoes, along with lowering the seat it’s made a huge difference with 99% numb free feet. 👍

I tried bonts before going to Lake. It's a fallacy on the width unless you order custom from them. I wish I'd got my Lakes 10yr+ back.. 👍
Yeah, I wish I’d found them sooner, but I’m here now so I’m staying with lake. By far the best shoe I’ve ever had.👍
Same. I tried Bont Riot+ in 46 wide. They were no wider than my standard width Specialized shoes. I also didn't get on with the Bont bathtub design as it stopped my toes from splaying. Now got a set of cx242 shoes on order. Fingers crossed 🤞
@@trevekneebone369 Exactly, from memory they're the same last/sole shape as the 238's which I have in the wide and they're sweet 👌
@@leedorney Great. Turns out that I don't have wide feet (100mm). Just wide toes. Hoping these cx242s will work for me
