I'm a Physical Therapist Assistant and all that education and training went out the door when I had to have my son assist me up off the toilet. Took me 3-4 months recovery.

Hello Venus. I did see that match that you played in New Zealand against that young American girl and I was impressed with the way you were playing you were moving well, you were hitting well, the best that Iâve seen you play in the past three or four years. Too bad about that hamstring injury. I am a therapist and I work a lot with people who have high hamstring strains. Itâs important to do some kind of therapeutic modality, such as diathermy or ultrasound or laser as the healing process occurs to prevent fibrotic tissue from forming in addition to having manual therapy done, reducing the other knots in the hamstring as you go through the rehabilitation. Best wishes on your return to playing.
I have worked on a few clients who are professional tennis players and unless youâre one yourself you donât really understand the type of sacrifices these Athletes make, even the kids have to practice every day for hours and hours. I wish you a speedy recovery beautiful soul.

I think at the Birmingham grass court tournament in 1997 or 1998 it rained before the semifinals; and rained, and rained. And they gave the four semifinalists the option of playing on the indoor wooden courts: if memory serves, it was Spirlea, Tauziat, Basuki and Graf, and one of them (I think Graf) didn't agree to it so they had to cancel everything.
The latest injury that kept me off court was a tear in my tricep. Which I did in an aqua class. Seriously. I'm now playing again and am feeling good, apart from a soreness in my forearm. I think I'm getting old
