- Hey there! My name is Lukas Bannink, and I make films in my spare time. I did all the modelling, animation and soundtrack all by myself, so be sure to let me know which parts I should improve in the comments!
I'm already working on the next film, so subscribe if you want to see more in the future! - Krátké a kreslené filmy
Was it weird to cry for the little metal chicken when it got injured? Was it weird to cry at the end when it got fixed and met up with all of it's friends? I don't care! I loved it! Amazing story that needed no words.
That was jason and the argonauts- and it was an owl, no chick
Not Weird. Because We Are Human!
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!!
Masterful creation of empathy in me for the little robot. I choked up there at the end...he and all his friends finding purpose. Beautiful planet. Well done!!
WELL DONE!! TRUST TAKES TIME!! I UNDERSTOOD IT! Would not change a thing! Glad the humanoid was kind!!
This was a wonderful short film. For all that you made it in your spare time, you were able to imbue the little robot with such character, that I really felt for it. I was almost begging for it to be picked up, fixed and re-energised towards the end. When i see so many of these shorts and feel barely invested in the fates of human characters, this was a delight! Keep honing your skills, for even if your film-making never gets past the spare time phase, you are still bringing joy to those who get to see them!
I agree!!! 👍
A great story line and well presented. I enjoyed the ending sequences.
Prompt re-focusing is a wonderful thing
For a one-person production this is good!
This film appeared on my recommendation list a few days ago and tonight (23:25 GMT) I finally got around to watching it...so glad I did. This is an excellent piece of work for someone who does it in his 'spare time'. You should market yourself and do this professionally. It is a great story that through the animation evokes sadness and ...at the end, joy, thank you so much for sharing your talented work....now I want to see more.
Thank you! Such a genuine compliment inspires me to make more videos!
@@lukasbannink7944 Lukas the compliment from me is deserved for you excellent work.
Loved the use of focus on the film, made it seem less animated in a way, and the pacing I thought was good and could have been twice as long. The visual were different and beautiful
"And one day we will go back to those who threw us away, and we will show them. We were not done! We were not trash!"
That piano😏.....Sounds like the beginning of Black Parade. 😍
A chicken probe/robot was a cool idea. Liked the music a lot.
El mensaje transmitido en este film sobrepasa con mucho a muchas denominadas "superproducciones"...¡Felicidades!
I'm really glad for the happy ending, too many films like this end on a sad note, thank you
I liked it. Wasn't expecting that ending! When the robot got into the cave with the circuitry, I was like tap into the traces, the blue dots, or extend your little arm to re-energize your battery.
Great job team!
Exquisite.
What a wonderfull story so beautifully made 💯👍💗
It is a very well done low budget story. You showed an understanding of your craft that I believe we will be seeing more of in the future.
What a wonderfull movie. It touches me very deep.
Great film! The colors are amazing and I hope you make more.
Gorgeous! Beautiful textures.
looked good enough to be a major film from Hollywood
Very very well done. I am a hack Blender user and can’t create anything even close to this type of results. Very impressive. 👍🏻
Compassion..humans all but lost it right now
We need this community..this evolve-ment😊
Such strong emotions were felt during this film. Beatiful job
Great film! This must have taken a lot of work.
This was wonderful! Lovely piece
Excellent story, Lukas. A piece of Work. And a work of Art. Thanks for sharing.
Keep doing what you do...each time it gets better by learning from films YOU also admire. This was a very ambitious and well done beginning. Ty!
Very nice, and I appreciated the upbeat ending. Sci-fi shorts are usually bleak and depressing...
Yes ! I totally agree. So nice to have a nice ending.
Amazing amount of hard work done. Congratulations on such a good job. Since you asked for suggestions, all I can add is at the beginning when the spacecraft is descending, I think the smoke trail should have stayed, and not evaporate so soon behind the craft.
Loved it .

Cheers and applause to a good friend,~*~🧑🏻🤝🧑🏽~^~*~
👏👏👏 Excellent!
Thanks for uploading.
It'ss perfect just as it is. Great job! I especially liked the body, and the body language- very evocative.
The little robot is so cute. Looks like a baby chicken. I love chickens.😅😅
Very well done - I thoroughly enjoyed that presentation.
Beautiful! I especially like the soundtrack and how the robot is articulated
Great video appreciate your time and work. Thank you.
This is a keeper. Special effects were excellent. The story resonates with the old expanding civilization concept. I love it.
kudos to the prop makers
Loved it, wished it would have been longer after the other thing made copies of the one that went (tits up) and he powered it back up. Thanks for a good video. Loved it. (Mississippi Gulf Coast, USA.
Didn't understand the plot completely but a very enjoyable visual treat.
I presumed, from the ending, that it was a reject planet, that was in the first stages of a survivors' rebellion. Of course, that may well have been only my own projection. I got the impression that the chicken robot was scrapped onto the planet, where it survived the crash. Others similarly disposed of did not survive, but the shamanistic robot apparently has some alternative source of energy to save some of the survivors ... which could eventually lead them to rebel against the planet being used to dump robots on ???
Great film. Great story. 🎉
I think the film is nice but it would be more powerful if the viewer was given more time to gain affection for the main character. Like, could you find a way to communicate that the main robot is an innocent, likeable robot?
The dying scene is well done.
Ending was great. Nice work.
Thanks for the feedback! That definitely sounds like a good point to improve!
@@lukasbannink7944 Kind of goes with the chicken image, by culturally associated connotations. Of course, that is mostly silly anthropomorphism, but nevertheless, when making shows one must use poetic licenses to rely upon cultural stereotypes.
excellent animation i enjoyed this
Heartwarming! Keep it up!
It's Cool!!!Amazing!!!Thank you Maestro!!!
Simply Beautiful
It is perfect just like it is. Great job!
It was very good l. Like it very much
Little guy looked like an upgrade of the Pixar lamp.
Big ones out of Star Wars.
I liked this. Makes you think. What was little Robot Chicken designed to do? Obviously designed to work in gravity,..
Initially the little bot was frightened by the taller image of a man? A very real threat! The other bots demise was the same thing-ran out of power? Once installed with the magic power up they gravitated towards this taller bot to do homage.
The tall bot carried a standard of double headed eagle. Obviously intimidating.
ربما يكون هناك الكثير من الأسئلة ولكن هذا ما يجذبنى الى الرسوم المتحركة لانة غذاء للتفكير ووقفة لاعادة النفس الى ماهو مرجح❤❤❤ 4:03
Excellent piece of artwork. I think you should expand on the music. I'd listen to an album of the music you've started here.
I really liked it I hope to more of your work.
If you can get a human to feel empathy for a robot then you've done a good job
On the other hand....
awesome job to all involved
Very cool, a robot aware of his own mortality. Very well done.
WOW just WOW!! this was one emotional trip and all without any voice scripting. You made me feel sorry and then happy for the little robot...
Keep up the great work looking forward to your next film! Love to see the next episode to this one; see where the adventure goes for here.
Aitäh, Lukas! ;))
Wonderful work! Congrats! I am now inscribed in you channel. 👍
Beautiful. Thank you for sharing your passion with the world.
Thank you for watching it!
It was brilliant, don't change a thing.
awesome . and great music too. subscribed
I liked the design of the animation and the music pulled it all together. I'm surprised that most comments felt that the ending showed compassion by the caped robot. But I get a strange feeling that he's rehabbing all these damaged robots to seek revenge...or even take over the universe! I wonder if the creator had this in mine.
Thank you for making this! I truly enjoyed it. I personally do not understand why so much of it was out of focus, but it seems to have been an intentional, stylistic choice. I'm not an artist by any means, so I just don't "get" it. I'd definitely like to hear what went into making this choice! Subscribed! :D
Great to hear! To be honest a lot of assets and animations were too much work for one person, so I had to get creative by hiding certain parts with a very strong focus effect. This forced creativity kind of resulted in it's own visual style
Nice little film thank you.
Can I assume in the story line this little robot some how has consciousness and has some aspects of sentience?
As it appear to at least mimic and act as if experiencing fear, anxiety and disappointment. It might be something that could be looked at in later endeavor for a pt2 if your so inclined.
one other comment with out trying to sound super critical even with what appeared to be metallic flooring the little bots center of gravity with out it foot pad would affect it movements as to create a off balance limp at the very least.
Again thank you I enjoyed your work and can appreciate the time involved to make such a work. Look forward to any of your future digital or movie making endeavors.
Cheers.
Simple and poetic, how to humanize a robot, a metaphor of awaking
Great short film. I admire that you have the humility to ask for suggestions, and with a film that is so well done. Your talent is obvious. I hope you will continue to make films and expand your craft - very anxious to see what you do in the future.
Do you work solely in animation?
The music was appropriate, and with all the progressive and New Age music available now I think you could expand the impact greatly with slightly more complex music that can bolster the emotion and attachment you are evoking in the viewer.
Most excellent!
your robot reminded me of Wall-E which came out in 2008..even in the world of robots they have communities too...any life force be it natural or digital - always a sad note to see the life force flickers for the last time but hope eternal when head hancho robot chief revived the little robot...for a one man show -you are very resourceful and diligent. Hope you will find a studio to do your internship and learn even more however your one man show is really remarkable...continue your love for making shorts with robots or other animation characters. Nowadays with social media you will succeed easier than days of old when the studios controlled productions. your keen attention to details, creativity, resourcefulness, diligence persistence patience will pay off in a big time within the next 2 yrs...your lucky break is on its way so best of luck and keep making clips having fun along the way...thanks for this clip...
Poor little Robo Chicken ... So glad he was mended and found some friends. Would love to see more. What happens next ? Where are the the Robo Flock being led ? What is the Robo Shepherd's goal ? Looking forward to the more !
Will check out your other vids. Maybe a story line can be done to make into a full length movie from your collection of vids?
Ok, bummer, this is the only one. Well, then, build off of this one. In other words, this one and only from a year ago is good enough to build on from. It is that good.
Chiken deffinetly need solar apnel, better longevity battery or better few, and better materials quality ) And still shine with green color )
The God of the robotic community
A glimpse of man's demise.
Thank you as the little being remined me so much of my little rescued bird. I am glad both were allowed to live on. I have named my bird "Courageous" because she is, just like this little being here in this video is also "Courageous". - Peter age 72
❤❤❤
Very nice to watch. This gramslam really enjoyed it Thankyou❤
Great!!
The sand texture should be more realistic. Love it!
making short films you got the time & patience

Mechanical Jesus !
I love this little film, and I hope you will make many more, subscribed! Unlike a lot of shorts, it was well-lit and pleasingly colourful despite the ominous storyline - I didn't have to struggle to see what was going on. The music was neither under- nor over-whelming and, cleverly, gave no clue (to me) of where the story was going or how it might end - it didn't tell me what to think, which makes a nice change. The robot chickens were brilliant and I love the way they angled their heads to understand better what they were seeing - very nice touch. Good to watch a short which contained pathos and humour, and escaped the cliché of a depressing ending. For me though, there were too many 'black cuts' (I don't know what to call them) - I'm not sure what you were intending to achieve with them, and certainly the one with the film's title and the ending one were too long, leading me to feel a little frustrated. There was also one scene in which the sand was blowing right to left, but the tall character's robe was billowing out from left to right... as a writer myself, I know it's always a good idea to let someone else read or watch one's work to check for illogicalities! Great stuff Lukas, it's a little gem :-)
What storyline? I'm confused and irritated. Shouldn't get so caught up in what can be done while far too little attention is given to story telling.
Good Job.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Everyone knows the images of a dog robot.
Chicken robot motions are interesting takes.
Liked the film felt for the scared robot.
What I want to know is why at the end, did it look like they were a worshipping the scary robot?
Uniformly slow, dark, and oddly focused - but interesting.
My improvement suggestion is that you should add more physics to the running of the robot between 2:50 and 3:07. The robot feels neither heavy nor light; it does not seem to interact with the ground at all but rather hover and swing its legs.
Music reminds me of I Pet Goat II
Perfect
I had to watch it at 1.25 speed. It was too slow for me. The blurred opening was perfect for the first scene, as he was waking upon crashing. Also perfect for after receiving the power gem and waking again. All other blurry scene openings made no sense.
I didn't understand the scene on the ship where seemingly random stuff was dropped into the pod before being shot. My first thought was it's in a metal refinery and that was a crucible. I expected the rando metal things to be melted down and poured out. Maybe clarify where (ship) and what (pod) in this scene.
Upon finding a figure in the distance, his first inclination is to run? Run away from his pod? This doesn't make sense. Probes are to compile as much info as possible. Finding and inspecting. Even if it's programmed to not approach, wtf would it run?
Captivating
Proof that robot has a heart.
Well done. Just a few comments:
Music should end not terminate i.e. Listen to your opening sequence and how abrupt the cutting of the music makes the scene abrupt. Close the music well, bring it to a conclusion.
Focus is an effective tool but it must be used sparingly, it shouldn't be noticed.
SloMo is also an effective tool but again it must be used with consideration of plot development. Try the tripping over the rock and losing a foot scene as a montage of stills.( 4 or 5 images, Max 1 to 2 seconds each)
Keep going.
Well said William. It seems, according to Celibidache, the finest conductor of the 20th century, you are completely right about the music. He stated that the music should ALWAYS end the way it is started. (Please see Ravels' Bolero conducted by Celibidache c. 1971).
👍👍👍🇱🇹
A tribute to the human ability to have empathy for AI... I doubt the AI would have any feeling for humans.
U did an awesome job Lucas I felt compassion and feeling just as all the mechanical robots had. What was in the cave ? Was it comprised of Dome sort of power the King of the planet only had accessc too?
Loved it No#1 !!!
I'd like to leave the contents of the cave to your fantasy! One of the things I really enjoy is seeing other people's interpretation of my work!
