It is just a shame that we quit honoring our elders. As a retired military veteran only real men can truly sheds tears for a lost comrades and the older generations passing.
The raw pain is felt through the screen. You did Grandpa proud and no doubt everyone watching this just like me has had tears rolling down our cheeks. God bless your family from NZ
True...and this was like 11 years ago, but I just got to watch it now. Though I may mot have understood a thing they say in a haka, it never fails to move me to tears. The passion they put into every gesture and movement touches something from deep within, conveying feelings rather than mere words.
Oh my goodness!! I felt that! I felt that genuine pure love for their granddaddy! There's none other like a granddaddy!! This is an old video but it popped up in my notifications! I sonlove and respect this traditional dance. May God continue to bless you guys and your family! 🌹🌹🌹🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
I am from Alabama/Kentucky and I do not understand Haka, but every time I see it performed I start getting chills and tears fall. I do understand but I love seeing it done. With love thank you for this video.
Much love and respect from Portland, Oregon. The love and respect you have for your grandpa shows through the Haka that you did. The simple act of posting this video allows the entire world to share in that respect. As long as this video stays up (it's been 11 years as of this comment) your Grandpa will touch more and more people, and he will not be forgotten. God bless
@@emadjimI’m sorry for your loss. Our dad passed in 2017 at the age of 95.He was also a veteran(WWII). We found that telling good stores about our folks helps a lot.
Your tears went with the Haka. It is the custom to have a TangiHanga which is an expression of mourning and tears as part of the service to honor the person now deceased. Kia Ora, Thank you for showing your respect.
As a Native American, I felt their grief down in my soul. This was such a beautiful and honorific Haka. It speaks spirit to spirit, we don’t need to know the language. Rest easy my brother. My love and prayers are with your family.
@@emadjim this is so very true. We are Cherokee/Apache. All indigenous understand the power of the spirit and how we honor each other. There is such beauty in the ceremonies that unless people embrace the culture, they will never understand. Thank you so much for sharing.
@@silky0439 I also honor the native americans because I know and love their rich history as chronicled in the Book of Mormon which also hints that the Native Polynesians are decedents of your ancient ancestors. TY for your comments
Tears (nga roimata) hv always been a sign of deep respect my people from Aotearoa/NZ display on greeting each other after a long separation or on the passing of a beloved. Me te arohanui e taitama! Tihei mauriora.
I can’t understand a word but I know what you mean. Utter respect, gentlemen! Your father/grand father couldn’t be much happier and prouder. Thank you for showing the world gentlemanly character.
First and foremost before I even ever watch this video I love that he is draped in American flag and him being an American combined with his native culture brings me to tears
I have the gift of tongues and believe these men ,poinly Son and Grandson , loved this man deeply. Honorably and Respectfully for his love and teachings to them! My heart if full to have the honor of witness his release by Haka to the Heavenly Realm! Blessing to all who witness this deeply SPIRITUAL RITUAL!🤚💚🙏🇺🇲
These are real men honoring a grandfather. He would have been very proud of this wonderful service.
Fiercely performing the Haka while fresh tears fell down his face for the loss, that's about the manliest thing a man can do.
