Visiting the giant Sequoia trees at Calaveras Big Trees in the Sierra Mountains.
Join Vickie, Ken, Lynette and I as we are immersed among the giants of the forest. There is always such a sense of reverence when among the giants of the forest. The height, width and mass of these Sequoias are so majestic. Even the fallen trees have a sense of wonder. It is amazing thinking of a living thing over 2,000 years old!

zhlédnutí 37Před 3 měsíci
In November 2023 I interviewed Naomi Weight about her memories of the big house. This was a family house on the slopes of Punchbowl overlooking Honolulu during the late 1940s-early 1950s. I grew up hearing many stores of fond family memories from my mother, Aunts and Grandma. Here is one I wanted to cature

Vickie and I Kayaked 1.5 miles on the Wailua river then hiked to Uluwehi Falls or Secret Falls. A beautiful hike through a verdant Hawaiian rain forest to culminating with lunch at a secluded waterfall. We started at 7a and were among the first to arrive at the waterfall that day. On the way out we passed many people and found the kayak pullout filled (no parking!)

Views of snorkeling at Captain Cook and 2-steps beach on the Big Island of Hawaii. We kayaked across Kealakekua to the Captain Cook memorial. You must be leashed to your kayak because you cant tie it to anything or beach it. 2-steps is an easy beach to get to and snorkel

Join Vickie to experience her POV as she swims with dolphins in Hawaii at Tracks (November 2023). Swimming with dolphins requires swimming far from shore to water that is 60ft deep. On our way out we talked to a woman who was swimming into shore who told us to be aware because they just say a large shark

Дедушка был воином.
What are they saying?
The grandfather would have lived through the Depression and WWII.

thanks for sharing that ... in the late 60s two other 18 year olds and I went through the cave and climbed up the other side. Yes, stupid but we could always say we climbed the face of Half Dome .
With much respect from a fellow American.
May your grandpa/father RIP. Such a loving final send off you gave him. My condolences to you and your family from here on the mainland (Colorado).

Magnifique! Je trouve merveilleux le folklore et les traditions napolitaines. 💙🤍
It seems to me it’s a special way of honouring life and death . Like a cycle of life. Impressive
That was beautiful. So sorry for your loss.
I wish my Scottish ancestry had the Hakka…but I’m happy with the pipes.
Haka that’s really confused me ….I thought they do haka for celebration like wedding…but now I saw they do all kinds of things….birthdays welcome back farewell or sports events???
I know this is their cultural way of showing love and respect ! So glad they keep it up! Thoughts and prayers don't do anything!
My condolences to your loss. Thank you to your grandfather for his service.
