- Opening in theaters November 20, Blind Side is the remarkable true story of Michael Oher, a homeless African-American youngster from a broken home, taken in by the Touhys, a well-to-do white family who help him fulfill his potential. At the same time, Oher's presence in the Touhys' lives leads them to some insightful self-discoveries of their own. Living in his new environment, the teen faces a completely different set of challenges to overcome.
The Rest of the Story? Well, Michael went on to graduate from Ole Miss where he was a first team All-American tackle. The Baltimore Ravens drafted him in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft and on July 30 signed him to a 5 year, $13.8 million contract. He's currently listed as 6'4" and 310 pounds. He started this season at right tackle for the Ravens thus far has started has every game
I think what happened here is not just she doesn't want him to eat alone that's another perspective.. But I think she saw he was so polite and eating where he's supposed to eat.. So he was a good example for them
I agree with you
Ruya Abd absolutely that was always my impression. Like when she said he was changing her life.
Yes that’s always what I thought like she saw him and thought “he’s got the right idea”
Yes, the whole movie shows that, actually michael makes them better too!
Of course not, thats how family should eat, together at the table
I love the way she just turns off the TV and turns away, no need to explain shit. So powerful haha
Every Indian parent! 😂
@@pariskate1997 its not parents but a woman.power upon her family.
No.. Even my dad does it and we have no say over that. Same goes for mom. Asian parents have more control over their children
@@pariskate1997 thats ur way of thinking
@@naintara8087 what's wrong with you lol? Woman power and all is fine. Women empowerment doesn't mean she is above men. I said both my parents have the same amount of control. No more no less. Thats why I said parent and not just mom or dad. The fact that my mom has equal say as our dad in our home is empowerment.
No one should ever eat alone, have that in mind next time you see a person in school ore at work . There was a guy at my school he was builled and called fat. He was a junior and I was a senior, so one day I asked kindly if I could sit next to him. Me and my friends would go to whatever table he was sitting at and eat lunch with him everyday for the last year, the bullies stopped picking at him, he was the smartest guy at school. He is now one of my best friends. And now works for a top company that works with expensive cars ore whatever. It saddens me to know that not all people are kind ore good hearted and just want to hurt those weaker ore those that are diffrent, this movie shows that. By protecting the good people you´re protecting yourself from evil.
You're a great person, are you single?
Pinketuzz u r a very good person
You are Jesus reincarnated.

Clearly, she is the boss in this house, but we desperately need more of her in this world, i.e. a good parent/ mother.
because there are lots of mothers out there, sadly, they don't know how to be a mother.
So true!!! But there are also a lot of fathers - sadly - who do not know how to be good fathers either. We are all lost! :) Reading the Epistles of St Paul and St Peter give us very good examples how to be good to one another - as communities and as families - in the name of our beloved Christ.
It's funny how were always blaming mothers for everything but it's usually fathers the ones that run away from their responsibilities and no one blames them for anything. Society thinks that parenthood is solely the responsibility of the mother. It takes two to make a baby u know?
This is because now mothers have more responsibility .
@@saimahossain3873 if it's a couple the responsibilities should be equal
Pale in comparison to how many bad fathers there are too.
People who are not prepared or ready to put aside themselves for their children should not have them.
I'm not saying sacrificing your whole life. I'm saying don't have children if you're having them for selfish reasons like that to continue your "legacy" without accepting that they might grow up not wanting to follow your steps or dictating their lives.
That's such a small thing but so meaningfull.
I went into labour on thanksgiving and when I told my husband it was time to go to the hospital he said.. "But its Thanksgivin" like Sean does in this video.... I peed laughing at him...
What a jerk
@@katherinepoltoratzky6068 I think he was just joking lmao
No one noticed the little guy tapping on older brothers shoulder saying our sister reached out hold her hand. He is just wants to eat food. That was cute.
SJ is my literal favorite from the movie.
I am a fan of Sandra Bullock. She is a great actress...
Hope she won an Oscar for this! damn she was good in this, I love this movie!!!!!
@@SoapinTrucker she did
She deserved the Oscar
Looks like he was raised to eat at the table. I love how she brings everyone to him. I remember my mother doing that too.
It's a strange combo. I grew up in Alabama and my grandmother had a landscaper she would pay to do stuff on the property, and would give him breakfast and lunch (she is a great cook) and they got along really well. Often when we visited on days the family property needed taking care of, my father would work alongside him.
The landscaper was born in the 1920s and black, my grandmother was born in the 1920s and white. When we'd visit on weekends and he was there, he'd eat lunch on the front porch away from us. He would never eat around us. Eventually my father would leave us and go eat outside on the front porch with him. I asked why the black man ate outside and my grandmother had this look for horror on her face. I honestly think her and the black man had this behavior from back in slavery en grained into them for generations of their ancestors, for black people to eat outside of the presence of white people that it never crossed either of their minds this was odd behavior.
We all ate together from that day forward. Feels good now. My grandmother is 98 and he is 93 (I think) and even though he no longer does property and forest management for us, when he is in good health he is always invited to the table.
Sorry for the long self-story tale, but I think this scene also shows how racism just becomes normalcy for both the victims and the privileged and is really sad.
@@Flufferz626 I know I'm late but I really appreciated this story
I don't think he was raised that way. That is part of the dream you are dreaming when you don't have a (loving) family. You dream how about others are living their family life. You dream about sitting at a table, eating from real plates, using cutlery. It's what you dream about having yourself, when you actually don't have it.
I'm not religious but i still think the act of a family (or group) joining hands together before a meal and giving thanks is a truly wonderful and precious act.
Collins has SUCH! a Beautiful Soul just like her Mother, she didn't hesitate to reach her hand out!
There never was a reason for not doing it, and she knew.
That makes her a beautiful soul?
We lost the meaning of eating at the dinner table now everyone relies on phones and social media I miss those days
That’s why you keep it instilled in your family. At Holidays the rest of my family eats together and I do when I can. My health often prevents me from doing small things like that.
I went to a family christmas party a couple of years ago and instead of sitting around talking to each other they all just sat there texting other people and these were people in their 50s and 60s, half my age! I actually felt like going up to them and saying "hey, you know, talking to people that are actually sitting with you is cheaper than texting..." we have dinner together and play cards most nights because of this and as a result we have a son who has never asked to have a mobile because he doesn't think he needs one because guess what? he grew up talking with his parents. And I've also noticed that kids the same age as my son who do want mobiles have anxiety and depression issues (relative's kids).
@@mariannehovad798 yes I can see that ppl rely to much on their phones for everything if we could all just sit around the dinner table and just talk about the day it would be so much better
It depends on the family.. In my family, cell phones are NEVER allowed at the dinner table.
Agreed! That’s the rule in our home. Breakfast and dinner at the table, no phones or devices allowed!
I'm crying it's so sad how he sits at the table by his self and how he trying to fit in
I love this scene. He reminded her of what Thanksgiving was really about.
I love the mom actor she’s amazing how she stops her husband in the car and make sures big mike gets a safe way home and a warm meal and plus clothes, bedroom of his own etc. this movie makes me realize I shouldn’t take anything for granted 🥺.
Sandra Bullock
I love how the little boy was like... hold her hand. So sweet
Awww I’ll forever love this scene 🫶
Brilliant movie. Some people said that Sandra Bullock didn't deserve that Oscar. I don't agree. She was impressive and charming here. Quinton Aaron, Tim McGraw, Jae Head, Ray McKinnon were great as well. The whole film was very deep, personal, emotional & touching.
Just like "In Love and War" (1996), "A Time to Kill" (1996), "Hope Floats" (1998), "Crash" (2004), "The Lake House" (2006), this film proves that Sandra can act dramatic roles brilliantly well!
This will forever be one of my favorite childhood movie
I love seeing that warm hearted moment she had to herself prompt her to coldly cut off the TV without a word LOL
Quinton Aaron’s portrayal of Michael Oher moves me to floods of tears every time 💙🙏🏻🕊
He is an amazing actor but he is also a fantastic singer as well
While everybody from the outside looking in would have thought that they were doing him this wonderful thing, the reality is that they were wonderful for each other. He helped them too.
His little brother taps him as if to say let's go I'm hungry! Lol 😆 ❤
It's the little shit that means something. Never really had a "Sit down" meal let alone Thanksgiving at a table. Good scene though.
Leanne Touhy, in real life, is the boss in that family. She also takes no crap from anybody else either. Sandra Bullock almost didn't agree to take the Leanne Touhy role because she thought that nobody could portray that woman properly. Sean Sr stated more than once that one Leanne was difficult enough, adding a clone is one too many Leanne's.
I love how they involve him in everything as one of their own. It's beautiful.
I loved this movie. A wonderful example of a loving family. 😢 Tears
Dear Lady Paquin, when you grew stone old one day, you will look back, and you will see your loving family. Your work, or your books, your studies or your animals, your plants, or your music. Yes, and maybe even your family.
Pls try to believe a little in giving and getting back in life. It seldom shows soon, sometimes even a decade later.
Just start with being the beautiful living and loving human being for a start.
And by the way Sandra has some German Ancestors. My grandmother would have been furious if a guest is not sitting at the same table if invited to eat with the fam.
The first section with the loving part was a saying in Prussia, she explained me before she left.
Paquin might be French, Italian or Spanish background. Especially in France eating was a whole tradition. A complete culture and ceremonial.
Read a little bit about those traditions, and you will be a fantastic host in this century. ❤️
😬 oops
sandra did such a great job in this movie!! love it!
You know there is a happy family when the wife is the Mother of everybody including the husband!!
I could not disagree with this more. A husband should be a partner not another child.
@@kimberleyharris8300 exactly! It’s in marriages like the ones this person is talking about that drive a woman to exhaustion because she has to be a mother to her children and a grown man. Yikes
If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. She makes it happen.
Kindness is free. Love has no limits. Silence speaks volumes.
Way to go, Momma! We need more mothers like her!
Even the product from the worst environment can remind someone with great wealth how to be humble and give back love and attention to the smallest detail.
I loved The Blind Side,it was full of lessons and empathy and compassion ...⭐⭐⭐⭐
... one of the BEST movies ever made ... and we all need to learn from it ... TRUTH !!!
SJ: Why are we eating in here???
Mom: Shh. Lol...
I really want a son like him😂😂😅
Such a beautiful scene. This movie made me cry like a baby.

The part where he said in the movie that he never had a bed...that got me. I cried.

Thats what a family is about.

Jazx - I know. It reminds me of some of the kids in High School.
A family that lives together, eats together. 🌿
Looooove that movie.
Love this mum determination.
Proud of what she accomplish in that film.
Look at that huge and gentle hand embracing that little one...that is so great!!
To eat at the dinner table with family and friends is extremely important. It’s how you connect at the beginning and end of the day.
A brilliant true story movie
One of the most beautiful movies I have ever watched..
One of the most memorable movies I have ever watched. God bless woman 🙏
Ain't nothing like having family together for the holidays be grateful
"But it's Thanksgivin!" Best quote in the whole movie. xD
How to beat being alone 101, the next time you find yourself being alone in a crowd, stop what you’re doing, look around, and find someone who is alone, your needs will be meant. “Give and It should be given onto you” Luke 6:38
Such a great movie the end always has me in tears
I love how the little kid smacks him. "Over there!"

My favorite movie of all time time the Blind Side...
One of my favorite movies
I mean thanksgiving isn’t thanksgiving unless the table was set in my house. Its not just polite but it’s more engaging to sit around a table with your family and enjoy each other’s company because that’s the true spirit of the holiday.
That's if you have a table of course
My favourite part of this movie! 🙏❤️🤗

Love this movie, I watch it for every time I can 😍
It tickled me when the little boy said why are we eating in here?I thought because you have a dining room!😊
This film is amazing.
Sandy is so beautiful and this movie is amazing.
I think a family should sit and eat together ESPECIALLY if they are all home together unless sick or working this is the best bond to fortify that’ll go along with them in life….a special scene we all could embrace especially when we find ourselves in front of screens more than actuall faces
Thank you.
Such a wonderful scene
God, such a beautiful woman & a very good actress.❤️
One of the best movies I have ever watched.🥰
this made me cry it is so sweet!!
very touching movie
This is a fantastic movie
I only saw bits and pieces of this movie. The parts I saw were so sad that I don’t know if I can watch the whole thing. Love how Sandra and her family took him in.
Watch it. It is absolutely beautiful. Not just sad. It is like... Adopting somebody to a family. She is like a lions mom. And he for the fam? Na, I not gonna spoiler you. 😁
It is touching!
Thanks

Who the hell eats thanksgiving on the couch anyway. Always at the table
ikr
I never ate any meal in front of the tv. Especially holidays.
That’s why she had them come to the table. He was the only person with good enough sense to eat at the available table.
