I actually just ran into a flat-earther the other day. I was picking my son up from school and I noticed that he was playing with a kid and the kid's mom was there, so we let them play and got to talking. Our conversation didn't last for too long though. It quickly escalated into an argument, and it ended with her grabbing her son and storming off to her car, while my son and I looked on in confusion. Turns out she's an anti-vaccer, and we got to arguing over that. She called me a gullible sheep that would believe in anything that the government and scientists claims to be true. Then she literally said "I bet you're one of those lemming round-earthers too"! A grown-up, college educated, employeed, mother actually said that to me. She rolled her eyes, shook her head, and responded sarcastically and rudely to me whenever I brought up actual facts that prove the earth to be spherical, and vaccinations to be healthy. She ended the conversation by loudly screaming at me to "WAKE UP"!! I honestly thought that these people were just trolling on the internet, but I just learned the hard way that they do indeed exist. They actually believe that the sun and moon are under a large dome that covers the disc-shaped earth. I imagine it looks like a giant snow-globe from God's point of view. (And now I'm wondering if flat-earthers are predominantly religious, or if they're atheists?) Her explanation of gravity was her funniest argument, and it's what ended our conversation. According to her, gravity is apparently the result of a constant force of "universal acceleration" that forever accelerates the snow-globe, flat-earth upwards at a constant rate of acceleration. That's why we feel a downward force acting on us at all times, and we mistake it for gravity as a result. When I asked what caused this "universal acceleration force", and why the snow-globe, flat-earth hasn't accelerated faster than the speed of light yet, she stormed off. I guess my laughing didn't help. I only wish that I had it on camera. It would have been funny to have that interaction recorded. Plus then I'd have her obnoxious, "WAKE UP", scream recorded. I could use it as my son's alarm tone, as he has trouble waking up in the mornings. EDIT: This exchange happened before the coof and when I said this woman was against vaccination I meant it in the Jenny McCarthy sense. I remember playing catch with my dad. This is a great scene in so many ways. A lot of people have commented that this movie was made by people who well and truly love baseball. I'm inclined to agree. But there is so much more to this scene besides a quick tryout. The batter has been nothing but a show off throughout the movie, claiming he's God's gift to baseball. Scooby pissed off skynet because he peed on a terminator while he was with shaggy, accidentally joined the t1000 on the trip to go back to the Stone Age to kill the Fred Flintstone since he turns out to be the ancestor to John Conner, but glitches out when Fred threw a rock at him, and was transported to this time period with no memories just lying on a baseball field and thinking they’re players.
It’s all in the wiki
I know I know
There's Babe Ruth and the Man with No Name too!
Don’t forget Dirty Harry
t1000 would still kick you ass...you see that stare?
You cut out one of the best lines by Robert Patrick: "He knows what's coming and still can't hit it".
Damn. I wonder if the sense of Irony escaped from anyone there, during the filming of this scene....
actually Mr 1000 says that
@ryan norris Nowadays, possibly. For some , those Woke lines are kind of blurry....
“Show em’ the curve”
Pulls pants down
The Houston Astros knew what was coming in 2017... but not in 2020 :P
I love this movie.
A new favorite movie.... haven't tired of MLB Network showing this.
Video starts by Shaggy bringing Fred Flintstone, retired Dirty Harry, and a Terminator...I'll watch the clip.
😅
LMFAO
Yo, my man, what about the crazy chick from Wedding Crashers?
@@jerrylee2389 it's not the same chick that's why lol
@@jerrylee2389 Lois Lane is more like it
When Clint Eastwood says just hold your ass right there, you hold your ass right there!
😂😂😂😂😂😂JUST HOLD YOUR ASS RIGHT THERE…..Clint wasn’t messing around straight at the point
I'm going to watch this right NOW! THANK YOU❤
He said it was gonna be ugly. The only thing ugly there was his swing.
Everything about this was so bad 😂
No follow through swing every time he whiffed.
somewhere, that nerdy high school teammate of Gentry is laughing, hahaha
Agreed - and he was late, every time. Dead pull and golf swinging. His mouth couldn’t back it up. Rigoberto’s attitude is the CORRECT one for an big league pitcher. No stress. No worries. Trusts his stuff. Confident. The look on his face said - I belong here.
BTW - Amy Adams is so hot.
It’s so nice to be back at Turner Field. I never realized how much I miss it.
Doug Alexander yeah so much history 👎🏻
were you the groundskeeper or the peanut guy?
So much better than that concrete mall with a baseball stadium crammed inside of it that the Braves use now.
Yeah, No Joke!! I loved Turner Field. I went once to Suntrust and never plan to go back!!
steve sloan a true Braves fan!
Love this scene.
Baseball, ther ain't nothing like it. Love this movie. I was a lefty in high school, still am, not fast but could make the ball really move. My greatest accomplishment was in American I pitched a nine inning no hitter. God i miss the seventies. That was as far as I went in baseball, boy do i miss it. If i had one wish it would be to run like twelve year old.
Cómo se llama la pelicula
Shaggy is all "I would play for the entire team, but it is unfair for mortals to even play with a God."
T-1000 was looking for John Connor but found Dan Connor instead!!!!!!!
customcruzer I see what you did there lol
😂😂😂😂👍👍👍👍. Aka...... Fred Flintstone.
I know this hurts. Throw to John now!
Not included in this video, but one of the best lines from the GM: "He knows it's coming and he still can't hit it."
Greg Maddux was in the scene?
@@DocJoeStan No, he was not in the scene, and for the sake of a healthier CZcams, stop replying to relevant, constructive comments with lame, half-baked bullcrap. You make us all look bad.
@@JustCallMeLoathesome Maddux quote "No need to steal the sign. I'll tell you what I throw. It's an 89 MPH sinker, and you won't even swing at it." Relevant? Where was this seen filmed? And who pitched from that mound?
Great movie and perfect Hollywood curveball beyond perfect
I love endings like this. Never underestimate anyone. A NATURAL a future goat
Peanut Boy had game, they would all learn that on the whim of an aging recruiting agents daughters perception of a “sound” she heard while hung over.
I love this movie!! My favorite team World Championship Atlanta braves and my favorite scene in this movie "Trouble with the curve"
Non sono un appassionato di baseball, però questo film mi è piaciuto molto, grande Clint, bella storia, queste storie a lieto fine vorrebbero anche nella realtà,ma purtroppo non è sempre così
"show 'em the curve"
"aint got no, you show them..."
I actually like the next 15 seconds right after this. "he even knows what's coming and he still can't hit it".
Jeeeeeesus Christ !!!!!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂ohhh man
movie name plz
Abu bakar Rahi Trouble With The Curve! Great movie if I might say so.
K. C. konsi web pe mili gi ye movie
"He knows it's coming and he STILL can't hit it"
Love this movie.
The world will mean a little less when we lose Mr Eastwood. Somehow the word “legend” seems a little inadequate.
THE BEST EVER CLINT
@Jon Hawkins The Sandlot reference! Nicely done
What really matters, is where he spends eternity ...
Absolutely wrong Jockney.
The world will mean a whole lot less after the rapture. Mass confusion, mass hysteria, mass riots.... we all need Righteous Invasion Of Truth.
George Ross keep your indoctrinated, unsubstantiated nonsense to yourself please.
Shaggy casually disguising himself as a mortal
wasn't he in that great movie, haha, called Summer Catch?? LOL
This movie is top 4 baseball movies for me the natural, field of dreams, for love of the game and this movie, there are a lot of good baseball movies
Out of the entire movie, this is my favorite scene. Go Rigoberto!!
"You alright?"
"Yes Ma'm, I was just stuck in the options menu, trying to change the sliders."
"Nervous?"
"No Ma'm, I put them all the way up."
“We havent got all day” everyone standing around doing nothing
The Trouble With The Curve is one of my favorite Clint Eastwood movies. ⚾️
Great movie, very well done.
I guess I have to start the joke
Shaggy, Dirty Harry and the T-1000 go into a bar
You forgot about Fred Flintstone
Well he did play Babe Ruth
@@gamerdog17 And Amy Adams would make a great Wilma.
@@kilroy2517 she would. Or a great Daphne
@@gamerdog17, you're right, I forgot that, thanks
Anyone else hear a trash bin bang when she called the curve?
Oretola Thomas 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bahahaha good one😅
Lmao 😂
Astros started the Coronavirus so people could forget about their little scandal
This is the Braves stadium.. not Houston
I know nothing about baseball but i loved that movie. 👍🇿🇦
Absolutely brilliant film
Get the last line in - he can’t hit it even when he know’s what’s coming - or something LI Luu e it. Classic!
CZcams: Nervous?
This video: No, this is just an algorithm
CZcams: that’s right, it’s just an algorithm
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I forgot about this one. This was a great movie.
love this scene
"Start with the fast ball....
No warm-up pitches. Just start firing heaters. Destroy your shoulder for all these nice people. That's it, good job!"
pretty sure he got the warm out away from camera before even shooting the scene. It would be too obvious if he was doing a warm-up and let them know he was going to pitch? don't you think?
It's a movie, not a documentary or training film. Do you complain about all the flying and magic stuff during super hero movies too?
iatsd I mean yeah. Superman just takes off without stretching first? What if he pulled a hammy or something? He wouldn’t feel very super then. So fake.
@Dane Mallon *you're
Always with the negative waves, Moriarty. It's just a movie.
Damn.. I missed my dad! He’s a lefty pitcher in his hey days and can throw that curve and slider like it’s nothing! Even in softball he’s unbelievable.. I wish I stick to baseball when I was a kid and he’s training me to be like him but I don’t have the balls to catch those curve ball everyday we’re training.. Rest in Peace Dad!
I am sorry for your loss.
There is always hope in the Resurrection
I played 12 inch softball as a lefty first baseman and had a lefty third basemen who could throw a 90 mile an hour fast ball at 14 years old. Twice I caught her fast ball barehanded in 1 game to tag out a runner. Couldn't write or use my hand for a week. She went on to play professional fast pitch and play for team usa twice. Still throwing 90 mile an hour.
Sorry for your loss 🙏🏾
Though of my Dad he was a great catcher. He would have loved this kid.
My dad was Nolan Ryan
