I am glad that you mentioned Wittworks. Drew is wonderful and I can attest to his quality, as I have some of his accessories for my Track Saw. Thanks for the tips. I need to get some bench cookies as well.
Matt, Thank You!!! I bought this this week, received in the Mail yesterday. Gonna try asap.
Great video on some very useful accessories. I will be getting the TSO square for my tracksaw and I like the idea of hanging my tracks on my shop doors. Secure and out of the way
Thanks for those tips. I have ordered the cover and the TSO square attachment. I'm looking forward to testing them out!
Wow the difference that makes was impressive
Some great accessories, big fan of Drew!
I cut my foam up into a few small pieces and it works great. That said, thanks for the top on the dust cover. I ordered two just now.
Best information per minute on CZcams! Thank you sir
Glad it was helpful!
Love your videos! This one especially was very informative!
Glad it was helpful!
I made my bench cookies out of dip cans with rubber shelf liners glued on
i like your tshirt god bless my brother
I have the Wittwoks i took your advice & bought the Wittworks dust port cover. Totally pleased. Not so much with the cord holders. The cord holders tend to pop off when Iâm trying to use while sanding. To solve this problem, I bought the Festool velcro straps that secure the cord to th e dust extractor hose. Money. The velcro straps provide a more solid way to keep your cord & hose together.
Good tips Matt. #1, About anything can be taped over the port for removing the blade if someone... has a tracksaw and can't afford the covers.... #3, the "3-D storage rack"; could make those in about ten minutes. My nephew hangs his vertically on pegboard, on a hook. #4, track saw guide rail. Yes... that would work, but I prefer using a track clamp on each end, especially when I clip two guides together for cutting 8' plywood pieces. #5, bench cookies... no argument there, and they, too, can be easily made if a guy doesn't want to buy them.
If a guy is starting out and can't afford a track saw, you can make a plywood 'track' in about ten minutes. That's what I use quite often because it's "Right there, right now, and two spring clamps will keep it form moving." (I use mine on my 60 year old Rockwell worm-drive. [I'm 75 now, don't know how much longer I'll be strong enough to lift it!]). Good video, buddy..... Stay Safe.............
There are a lot of things that can work with your Festool type guide rails that are really cool. . For long cuts, I love the DeWalt guide rail quick clamps. I find them much easier to use for clamping down a guide rail, or for side clamping on an MFT table. And yes, they work with The TSO rail Square as well. Seneca has some great Parallel Guides, and there are several vendors on Etsy who make guide rail attachments for routers, parallel guides, Dominos, and jigsaws.
great video
Just ordered 2 sets of the fastcap track for my garage door.
Love the Teesâs
Thanks for the shoutout, much appreciated.
Love #2! Thatâs such a good way to store your track.
Iâve never even heard a lot of these
BTW, used that dust cover for the first time this morning on my Festool TS55.
Holy Crap > Literally almost zero dust = Amazing!!
Make your own bench cookies from hockey pucks
Theyâll leave black scuff marks on the wood.
Those would bench pucks not cookies. Maybe Mike is from Canada where hockey pucks can be found at the dollar store. If you were to dunk a hockey puck in Flex Seal marking is not a problem. He did say make from not use asâŠ. No offense intended, all my comments are meant in jest..
Or from scrap wood with rubber shelf liners glued on
Genius
Lee Valley sells self adhesive grips pads specifically for hockey pucks.
Worth noting, there are some track squares on Amazon that are a small fraction of the cost of the TSO squares. Iâve used both and my $30 one has lock with action thatâs a little less smooth.
Just got my TSO Right Angle Guard... Wish I'd done it sooner!! Tested against 3 Squares... Dead 90° against all of them!!
Great accessories!
From Festool and Sedge (from Sedgetool), you don't want to cover that access hole on the saw. It's there to allow airflow to help with dust collection...
I heard him say the same thing but I think something was lost in translation from Germany. The results speak for themselves in my experience and in this video. Also they sell a 491750 cover plate for $72 that does essentially the same thing. It makes a bigger difference if youâre cutting near the edge or not
The TSO guide rail also complements their parallel guides.
Another track accessory which is useful are attachments that allow your router to used with your track rail in making straight accurate dados or grooves.
Unfortunately, the TSO guide rail square, doesn't work as it should : it looks square (on small pieces only), but it isn't square. More than 2 or 3mm non square cut for pieces over 400mm length. I don't want to hear anymore about TSO; really desapointed.
@@losspedal6151 Maybe, you received a bad product.

You should check out the Mafell brand track saw. It doesn't have a port (that needs a cover) to allow for blade changes.
I also feel that the Mafell is the best overall track saw on the market. I did a lot of track saw research before purchasing the Mafell earlier this year.
The only downside to the Mafell track saw is that it is expensive.
Thank you for the quick response and sending me the link but the link you sent me was for a starter kit two batteries and a charger Iâm looking for the deal on the router with the batteries in the charger and the dust collector that you promote it for $199 I havenât seen the router yet
Can you use festoon quick clamps on the Milwaukee track? Or in general, an you use festoon accessories on the Milwaukee track?
Duct tape is a cheap alternative to covering the arbor hole!
Maybe, but then you have to take it off to change the blade, and you'll have that sticky residue on there. That overtime will build up. This is easier and just looks better.
I was looking on Amazon and I found a lot of cheaper track clamps and track straight edge guides really cheap one was $25 can you do a review on them. Thanks.
You really know how to spend my money don'tcha!?! đ€Ł
I need all of that. Lol
đ
Okay whenâs that Milwaukee coming out? Waiting to see a review.
I think it is available now?
@@731Woodworks negative, ghost rider.
@@thomasd9827 I'll keep an eye out for it. As soon as it's available I'll order one
@@731Woodworks awesome, will wait for the review before deciding on that (since I'm already in the platform) or a Festool.
I'm guilty of using masking tape đ. Not good, cause it leaves adhesive behind and comes off in corner or the other. Results are slightly better than the open hole. I definitely will be getting the plugs.
Any idea on if the parallel guide works for grizzly tracks?
I use tape
I would love to have a TSO guide but, last I checked they don't have one for the Kreg. Kregs accessories seem very cheap. I haven't seen any company with Kreg accessories.
They have one for Kreg. It's linked in the pinned comment and description
@@731Woodworks thank you, I'll check it out.
That Dust Cover is genius!..But I'm not sure if I would trust the Track Saw Guide Rail Square beyond 12" without measuring each and every time đ€š
If you have a straight edge to start with, the guide square works fantastic. I've used it many times (TSO) and it cuts square without fail. I rely on it to square off a full sheet.
@@stevenvachon9745 cool...I've used festool's own version of this, and it was just not trustworthy enough for me...maybe this one is better?
@@Shiva108 I would think that the festool brand should be accurate, I haven't used one though. There could be other factors that might throw it out, like blade deflection (if you are trimming less than a saw kerf), dull blade, not positioning it correctly...
@@stevenvachon9745 yes thanks, I looked at it from all sides, since it was expensive and I wanted it to workđ
There are many cheaper alternatives to the TSO. Can you comment if you have any experience with the cheaper alternatives?
About port covers. Why make full depth cut without cover having dust all over the show and then cut 3/4 inch ply with cover on. That does not convince me.
okay, don't get one đ đ€·đ»ââïž
Looks like you could go broke cutting a piece of ply board
Possibly, if you aren't using your tools to generate income. However, if you value efficiency and accuracy, this could 2x your production. Depends on your mindset I guess.
