If everyone is complaining about Wheeler's legit goal, why didn't Anderson just poke check him, he was a foot in front. Instead he stuttered and did nothing.

For the final goal as long as the shooter is continuing forward towards the goal then the goal counts. In this case, when you slow down the last shot to 1/4 speed you can see that the shooter continues to move forward (at a very slow pace but he is still moving towards the goal) with the puck. So that's why it's still a goal even though when you look at it at regular speed it's very easy to believe that the goal shouldn't count (because he practically stops near the end in terms of his speed).

@@MotoLife94 Nah, it really does look like a full stop when you watch it at regular speed. It's understandable, but like the original commentor said, you can see Wheeler didn't stop at 1/4 the speed.

So many people already hate the shootout, and goals like that last one give them more ammo to hate on it. I'm not saying he 100% stoped moving forward but it's so difficult to tell either way and it happens more and more often and never gets called. The shooter always gets the benefit of the doubt. I hated ties and wanted the shootout so so bad as a kid once they put it in I wasn't a kid anymore but gave it a chance because like I said I hated ties. I like that the NHL has been proactive about tweaking OT to make it more entertaining but I'm starting to think more and more old school with crap like that last goal. And by the way i bet on Winnipeg tonight so I wanted that to go in.

@@MotoLife94 thanks for the insult!!!! Computer tough guys always make me laugh. It's not obvious at all. I'm not saying he didn't stop. It was too close to tell. His last movement was to his right not forward, and you can't say 100% his momentum was still moving forward. And I can't say for sure he stopped. It was very close and it's not just that play I'm referring too, like I said they happen all the time. And they never review them. Never!!! In baseball they have the rule in the case of a tie the runner is safe.they mise well say in hockey if we're unsure we'll assume the shooter was still moving forward because that's what they do anyway. And your logic that it has to be goal because they didn't choose to review it certainly doesn't hold up. You never saw a bad call on the ice that wasn't reviewed???? I'm sure you've been upset over bad calls that weren't reviewed plenty of time. Keep up the good work though, we definitely need the keyboard tough guys and trolls putting in the work. Without the constant insults with no context it wouldn't be the internet. That's what the internet is, information and people sharing their opinions with guys like you just waiting to tell people you disagree with that their dumb, blind, or anything else negative!!! Its unfortunately for you that you guys are all over the internet so you don't stand out as special.

@@jasondashney This is a quote from section 24.2 of the 2021-22 NHL rulebook: The Referee shall have announced over the public
address system the player designated by him or selected by the team
entitled to take the shot (as appropriate). He shall then place the puck
on the center face-off spot and the player taking the shot will, on the
instruction of the Referee (by blowing his whistle), play the puck from
there and shall attempt to score on the goalkeeper. The puck must be
kept in motion towards the opponent’s goal line and once it is shot, the
      play shall be considered complete.

@@IAMTHEJUGGERNATE Interesting. I wonder if they changed it. I remember years ago when guys where doing the spin-o-rama and that meant the puck went backwards and it was a whole deal. I thought they sorted that out and you just had to make forward motion with your body. Whether or not the rule was changed, I certainly am wrong in 2022. Thanks for the clarification. Cheers!
