      Seriously. Something is very wrong here. I have never been in a situation, outside of bath time or maybe summer pool day(but not for long) where my babies were ever just naked for no reason. This is beyond disturbing. Sure, a hot day inside with just a diaper. Definitely. Of course. But totally naked, in my lap, and while driving? Just logistically, I'd worry about a car wreck or even getting pooped on. This makes zero sense.

It absolutely broke my heart hearing the officer talking to the little one, saying, "You're a happy little guy, you're smiling!" That fact that he can still be so smiley, regardless of what his stupid parents are up to or if they're there or not, just shows me how complicated familial relationships are. Poor baby, I hope some good family members can take him in.
    Also... WHAT THE LITERAL EFF Lydia!? The second I heard her say the baby can only sleep nude, my red flags started BLARING! How many times does a parent have to put their child in danger for someone to actually step in and intervene? She had police called 5 times over the course of a year and half for welfare checks because of the condition of the child and her behavior. This is literally terrifying especially considering how young the child is.

    • @itachis
      @itachis Před 4 dny +1

      Rehabilitation for DCFS is usually their main priority or goal. If one child is 15 and was taken away from the mother and the mother has another child and then that child is taken away they’ll still try to rehabilitate even with multiple offenses (with 1 or more children) they don’t even take into account the previous abuse on other children etc. ugh I can say so much more but it’s super depressing. They need a solid system. Federally. State to state varies in their laws too. I really think it needs to be federal. DCFS, cps, etc etc need to be a solid unit.

      CPS will be contacted for a check on the family the child is being placed with. They are very much involved and a case is opened. Rules will be put in place for the members of the family. So they are called regardless. It's then decided through CPS whether the parent will get custody back, if at all. If no family is available they will take custody and place the child in a foster home.

    What saddens me the most is that a lot of them get minimal to no time. Even if children services becomes involved, they normally are given to a family member who certainly is going to allow them to take them and be with them. It just seems the consequences are not severe enough to deter them from continuing criminal behavior.

      While I definitely agree, the lack of those resources aren't to blame for these cases of child neglect and abuse
      Child abusers and people neglecting children has happened since humans existed unfortunately, no amount of education will help because they're not just uneducated on how to care for kids, they're unwilling, and abusers will always abuse
      It only appears more crime, including abuse and neglect, is happening nowadays because everyone has a camera in their pocket to record, and the TV but especially the internet allows us to see it/hear about it in a way that couldn't happen before the internet
      The actual overall crime rate has gone down, and even some crimes are artificially higher than comparatively because more people are reporting them nowadays than prior

It's evident that the parents involved in these incidents were facing various challenges, whether financial, emotional, or otherwise. The poor excuse of a mother that not only ran from the police with her baby in the car but left him in the car by himself shouldn’t ever be allowed around her child again and the last mother that thinks driving with her baby in her lap is ok and living in filth and the baby always being naked and thinks she is a good mother is insane! Some people should never be allowed to have children! All of the mothers are sorry excuses for parents

    1st case: "You live and learn." Sir. You are a grown-ass man who doesn't need to be taught that stealing is wrong. So glad the officer told him off.
    3rd case: "I can't trust you with my son. What is he doing with my son? WHAT IS HE DOING WITH MY SON?!" she, a white woman, says to an also white police officer who has been nothing but professional and kind and is surrounded by other officers with bodycams who can keep him accountable for his actions. Ma'am he's safer with the officer than with you at this point.

    I’m impressed by the officers who handled the Target arrests. They were very respectful and went above and beyond to ensure that the child was cared for by family. I understand their mindset. I will state, however, that child welfare should always be called in these cases (and likely was). The caseworker could vet the grandparents and, if they’re safe, hand the baby over to them. Criminal parents need to be monitored for the safety of the children. Kudos to the police officers for being caring humans.

    That woman with the poor naked baby has some serious separation issues, she needs therapy to a pretty high degree. She was severely neglecting him but was delusional in that fact, she very much thought she was doing everything right. I am a mother of two with my own separation issues due to childhood trauma but i consciously am aware of it, my babies are cared for due to my awareness, i keep them bathed, fed, clothed, loved....she seems to have none. I hope that baby has a stable caretaker, she needs levels of help before she can properly mother her child.

    If you need something for your baby then ask someone for help. Hell , ask a stranger if you have to. Talk to a store manager . Don’t steal. People will help you if you’re not trying to take advantage of that help. By that I mean don’t fill up a cart and expect someone else to pay. Get only what is needed for that baby and someone will help. Stealing is wrong. It affects all of us when you do that.
