This was not a James Harden leg kick or a Steph Curry / Trae Young shoulder jump in. This was a Kentucky player breaking into an LSU player's cylinder who is going straight up and down. I've watched this replay numerous times and still see no leg extension to draw contact. I've watched every LSU basketball game this season and that's Khayla's normal jumpshot. I used to referee basketball and was a LHSAA high school ref, passed the test with a 91 in 1995. The action is fast out there and if the ref misses the call, there is no way to blow your whistle 5 seconds later. What seems like a foul to the coach is not a foul to the referee. Yeah, we like basketball. Not fashion.
Furthermore, we like basketball. Not social issues.
      The WNBA might consider that.

A missed call happens. People should try to referee a game to see what it's like. I ref middle school games and I have missed calls. I have stopped games to calm counsel players/ coaches and I only ref in a middle school Christian league.

Officials will spend an hour trying to decide a way to add on to what they do to the coach but won't spend a second trying to figure out what they screwed up. SMH Officials these days are horrible.

It was a correct no call. Technical foul is a must in that situation. My guess is the review was deciding whether to eject her or not for almost making contact with the official.
You should register to officiate and help us out. You might learn a few thinga about the game you didn't know. There is a shortage of officials nationwide.

That reg was right there. Pathetic display of competency doing his job. I don’t blame her. That ref is wrong and let his ego override his ability to do the right thing.

Good job, ref. College basketball needs to get cleaned up with all the flopping. This coach clearly relies on it and takes time to teach her team how to fall. That’s not basketball. Let them throw fits. Give them techs and throw them out of the game if that’s what it’s going to take to play real basketball. This coach seriously has problems. That’s just disrespectful and embarrassing.

Agreed. Offensive player kicks her legs out, causing the contact.
