Never move someone with a possible head injury like that until you stabilize the patient. Never!
Never underestimate the stupidity of college staff.😢
That’s exactly what I came here to say! I learned that in lifeguard training!!!
They did not know she hit her head
Everybody saw her hit her head.
Ok, pipe down doctors!
That was piss poor urgency by the entire training staff, medical staff, coaching staff. You do not pick someone up from a head injury that severe. That’s just common sense.
im pretty aure the refs have to allow the training staff to come on the court
The players picked her up...at least correctly place blame
Also zero response or care from the refs standing right there watching her
@@playa2nv21 and the coaching staff/medical staff whoever than go on either side of her and was trying to carry her, wtf are they thinking? Should have came on the court and quickly got her back to the ground
We’ll leave it so woman’s basketball to use emotions instead of logic 😂
This should be shown as a textbook example of what not to do with a suspected head injury.
Yep, the entire team is as medically gifted as many of the commenters. Seems most armchair medics have 20-20 prior vision as to what to do or not do, but only after the fact when they know the result.
Shut up
i am a high school basketball referee. if that scenario would have happened in a high school sanctioned game, NOBODY would have TOUCHED the player except for designated medical personnel. i can't BELIEVE everybody else stood around and allowed those players to basically FORCE the injured player to try to walk. Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot, people!!!
What the fuck does that mean?
@@averylewis6601lol
It means what the F%&^ people. right am I, right? But anyway, I agree they should have had someone brought out the stretcher out from the beginning
I argree why the fuck would you pick the injured player up and force her to walk
@@averylewis6601the dumbing down is real with you the elites and politicians love people like you easy to control
They should have never picked her up. The fact that it took the trainers forever to get to her is ridiculous
um yes they should have. what do you expect them to to? turn the lights of and throw her a blanket and let her sleep there?
@@ryanciani3324There are medical procedures that have to be followed. She should have stayed there while staff stabilized her neck until the stretcher could get there.
i guess they didnt think
@ryanciani3324 leave her there. You don't pick someone up like that. You clearly hear the players saying she hit her hair. She was literally laying on the court long enough for the trainers to realize something was wrong
@@ryanciani3324 no they shouldn't you sound stupid
The staff was ridiculous. How you going to say she’s okay when she’s literally in pain, and crying. They should have never moved her
That's crazy they did the same thing with Symia knee damaging it furthering
Who knew it was that serious. She reached for them to help her up. Everyone who takes a fall that is not an obvious neck injury gets picked up . Happens in all other sports all the time
They should’ve known it was clear she couldn’t stand up or walk and they kept trying to push her towards the bench saying she’s OK. LSU full of idiots.
Plus the EMT’s were slow AF. Like they were strolling on the beach 🙄🙄
The MEDICAL STAFF dropped the ball!
@@ICEMAN24072Exactly. The most worrisome change in society is people don't know how to think anymore. I guess why should they bother when Google and AI could do it for them.
This broke my heart. One, moving her when they shouldn’t. The coach didn’t even look a bit concerned, just looking at her up and down. The staff and meds need to do better. Prayers that she’s okay 🙏🏼
For real tho…
Mulkey don’t gizza f!
I don't like Kim Mulky (coach). There is just something about her. Sure, she wins championships, but there is something about her that doesn't sit right with me.

Bro all the medical people or whoever needs to be fired wtfff did I just watch
no reason to fire anyone dummy
Her teammates picked her up
EXACTLY‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ I said the same thing‼️‼️‼️ how was that legal 🤦🏾♂️
SERIOUSLY. This is VERY bad look for the LSU medical staff.
I said the same thing! Horrible smh when they saw she was down they should have rushed to her aid!
I just read a story saying that CT scans and other test came back with good results and she has movements in all of her extremities 😐🤕
Pretty much sums what "Shaken up" really meant. But still... They shouldn't have moved her like that...
That's great news....and very happy that she is going to be ok. We don't know these things until after they run tests. Unless they wheeled everything into the court and I missed it...that was exactly..what not to do in a case such as that. I'm shocked what I just witnessed. We just went back what?? 20-25 yrs in dealing with medical injuries .
@@deaconrodgers5287 Well, in their defense, people often disregard protocols in order to help out. Often missing or forgetting important stuff because they want to save someone. 🤷
With Whiplash and concussion, symptomology can show up days weeks or months later just because something doesn't show up on a CT scan early on doesn't mean it isn't going to be something that she's going to have to fight with in her life
This was the comment I was looking for. I was beyond concerned when her teammate jerked her to her feet like that!
Echoing previous posters, if you suspect a head injury you always suspect a neck injury. You don't move the aided until you immobolize the neck with a cervical collar.
The collar will remain on until a neck X-ray shows no cervical damage.
I am floored. Nobody on that floor, from the players, to the head coach, to the trainers have NEVER SEEN A CONCUSSION?!? Don't move her!!!
I took a sport med class in 1985, and even I know that when someone has a possible head or neck injury that you DON'T pull them onto their feet and get them to walk. Pure idiots on that staff.
In fairness, medical personnel aren't the ones who got her onto her feet.
@@neilkokemuller7841 Players need to taught DO NOT MOVE an injured player for any reason.
Yeah I agree. That's a concussion. I had one❤
@@neilkokemuller7841 no it is the one in love with the limelight
The staff wasn't the ones who pulled her on her feet... pure idiots commenting
I went through EMT school this past summer and the medical staff did basically everything we were taught not to do.
Thank you DR Doogie Howser.
Yep
Everything. They did everything wrong. Lawsuit coming and probably a mutiny. LSU just showed that entire roster they don't matter. Despicable.
You never EVER move someone with a head injury until he or she is stabilized. Period. That is how you make the injury 20x worse
LSU coach Kim Mulkey said Poa had movement in her limbs when she was taken off the court on a stretcher and being brought to St. Francis Hospital.
Mulkey said she got word after the game that Poa’s scan at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville came back clean. “So that’s wonderful news,” Mulkey said.
Poa, hurt in the fourth quarter, had gotten up with help and was slowly being assisted to the team’s bench. But she stopped and was placed flat on the floor while paramedics came out with the stretcher.
This is the worst medical response ever
Yes
Where do they care they look like in the paycheck the one guy he won't even sit on the bench he's probably in the locker room coming running out half hour later
@@MarkHarper-ek8ss the stretcher were even worst. I never saw 2 people tip toe to the court pulling the stretcher..never

@@user-se7hf3vm3v no I'm not gonna joke on that because Damar Hamlin those folks were by his side doing CPR in 11 seconds. I can't even agree with you.. If she was Black they moved faster because the WOKE would've demanded they be fired for being slow poke racists.
"She's alright..just let her breath"...sums up how well this situation was handled
She was trying to calm down the situation and not have everyone panic…have you ever played sports before?😂
This had me in tears. *Shaking my head!* Praying for her. A speedy recovery. 🙏🏾
I have been on the receiving end of concussions and trust me, it’s pretty brutal.
Gamecock fan here sending many prayers to Poa, her family, and her teammates. I hope it's nothing bad and she was just shaken up but it looked bad. I wasn't able to watch the game so this is my first time seeing it. I'm very sorry she got hurt. If that were my little girl I'd be dying! We all have our rivalries but I really HATE seeing any young athlete getting hurt, no matter who they play for. 🙏🙏
Why do they continue to try to move her! Entire medical staff would be fired!
Louisiana smh
The players dont know the protocol, its the medical staff fault for taking their sweet ass time and then instead of correcting the mistake the just kept moving her. They all need to be fired
so she can get off the court and go to the hospital? wow are you stupid
Facts!
Everyone here loves LSU, just natural to wish better treatment for your team when something bad happens.
I live with concussion syndrome.

My thoughts and prayers are with Last Tear Poa. She really hit her heard excessively hard on the floor. The trainer response was very late.
I agree. She was laying on the floor for a long time with no medical person there and then they got her on her feet? Why did it take so long for the medical people to get involved???
An untested learning moment never seen until now. Looked just like the NFL. I truly hope she's OK.
when you continue to cry wolf like players have, its hard to know when the wolf is at the door :( prayers for a speedy recovery (for real!)
That medical staff needs fired immediately! Worst thing to do in that situation. Also heard the trainer say she’s alright let her breathe. You’re fired
Sure it wasn’t a player saying that?
wasn’t a trainer, it was hvl
@@dejalotharp7006 apparently Americans like it better when they’re fed a lie 😉
Disgusting. None of them should ever work in the medical industry again. A woman’s life is at stake and they took their sweet time to get to her. Also making her walk and not stabilizing her neck/head for the longest. Then the players yanking her up?? I pray and hope she will be ok.
The players ALSO NEED to be told LET THE MEDICAL STAFF HANDLE IT.
They took their sweet time coming out with the stretcher.
As a trauma nurse I was horrified by this so called medical team and coaching staff making her ambulate or move without stabilizing her spine !!!!!
Pretty pathetic handling of this situation by the medical staff - dangerously miscarriage

@@scpython1ok I’ve hit my head on metal that doesn’t mean anything. Also was her teammates who moved her so for all they knew she was ok. Again that was her teammates

Even the staff allowed players to move and carry an injured player. The SEC has to do better.
this because what the fuck took mulkey so long
As a person who is currently dealing with post concussive syndrome, this infuriated me to see them lifting her up and making her walk. Concussions are no joke. The many symptoms I deal with as a result of a head injury even surprise me.
No joke is right. My last concussion had me in a fog for just over two months. It was hell.
My 18 year old got a Grade 3 concussion hitting his head like that. That was four months ago, and he still feels the effects sometimes.
Sorry to hear that.. 😢Hope he is doing better now...
They need to teach how to better take charges. I never was given any guidance on that at all as a kid. Luckily I think I had a natural instinct to try to slide backwards on my butt
LSU medical staff stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

They took a big risk in picking her up after suffering an apparent head injury without doing a head to toe assessment on her. A person with any head , neck , or back injuries should never be moved until that is done , unless surrounding conditions are life threatening. I was surprised to see them do that. They should have stabilized her with the c- collar and backboard BEFORE they got her up.
Praying for a speedy recovery 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Glad she's going to be ok🙏 "GREENVILLE, S.C. - The LSU women's basketball team expects Last-Tear Poa to be released from the hospital Saturday after she suffered a concussion in the Tigers' win over Ole Miss."

Yup definitely a concussion I remember I got pushed off a brick wall and fell and could only remember hearing a lot of buzzing and not knowing where I was nbs definitely couldn’t walk so I just fell down and stayed down until the teachers and paramedics came then told me I had a concussion

First Aide 101- never move a person who has fallen, no matter if they want to try to get up. You keep everything as stable / non moving as possible.

I love how the announcer said she tried to stand up, no she was dragged up by teammates because trainers were no where ! I think the fans were even yelling to put her down.
But she did try to get up. She reached her arm out to them. I agree with everyone saying no they should’ve left her there but understand that she did want to be helped up.

@@Yaomingsaucy agreed. I said what I said though. I played ball and seen shit of this sort all the time. Idc how you try to put it those players shouldn’t even be in the blame game. Plenty players have went down hard and extended their hands like they wanted to get up. Yk what happened? they GOT UP. To end this off you idiot AS I SAID BEFORE YES THEY SHOULDVE LEFT HER THERE.
@@GrowingWthePrestonsin a situation like that, you want the person who is injured for them to get up on their own OR have their arm extended; signally that they can try to get up. The teammate dragging her arm to force her to get up, is not a sign of the injured player saying “I’m okay, get me up.” When you get knocked silly like that, it can be a scary thing. I’ve seen it a lot, playing hockey. Best thing; if possible while falling is tuck your chin in. Your back may hurt, however the possibility of a hemorrhage to the brain or skull crack is less likely.
Nobody knew that she had hit her head. Players help teammates up all the time. We only knew because we saw it in slow motion!
LSU trainers get an F. They took way too long to get out there. I know her teammates wanted to help, but they should've let her lay there until the medical staff showed up.

EVERYONE failed in this situation. Players, coaches, officials, trainers...even the venue personnel. They couldn't even clear a path for the paramedics to get through with the stretcher. smh
Players have no calls to make but should be trained to leave player there!
It’s like NO ONE on the entire LSU staff had ever seen much less dealt with a serious injury before.
This is ridiculous. The whole world saw these terrible medical decisions. Why were the medical people so slow and not high tailing it over to Poa immediately? I don't blame the players here - are they taught to not touch their teammates? Poa was reaching up to them asking for help to get up. The medical staff should have already been there and taken charge of the situation immediately. None of the players should have been allowed to move Poa because the medial team should have been there to make the proper decisions. Medical team only. Even lay people who follow sports know this protocol. This is now medical training on WHAT NOT TO DO for all teams and trainers across America. I really hope it is not serious, please, nothing serious.
When they did their asses were still moved slow as hell
Nobody cares. This sports obsession bs is dragging our society through the mud anyways
