don’t throw an elbow & then trip out when you get knocked back ..she should have been ejected and other girl should have just gotten a tech for the reaction . you’re gonna get pushed , it’s a part of the game but don’t throw no intentional elbow like that .

@Earle M that's called defense, specifically denying her the ball with pressure. They do that to Steph ALLLLLLLL the time and he isn't elbowing MFs in the face. The refs didn't call anything on her cause she wasn't doing anything wrong at that point.

The most she could have gotten from the initial contact from behind was a personal foul. Instead of calling for a foul, she overreacted with a flagrant elbow to the head.

My opinion is that the reason the push in the back happened, at all, was in response to the elbow to her face.

You clearly don't know bball, shoving is part of the game. No reason to throw an elbow to the face. Losing and Frustration comes with it. Lil shove, she took it personally and clearly overreacted. From what I saw (within the first 10 seconds), the player in the white is literally putting her elbow and body weight on the other girl's back and to break free, the player in the black elbows her which in turn results in the player in the white throwing a little slap or what have you to the face. Anywho, this is why women's volleyball will always be my forever sport!

If I were Temple coach, I would have reacted that way too, but then in the locker room I would have had a sit down talk and she would be on the bench for a game or two and prove herself in practice she's ready to control her emotions. Turn that anger to passion.

@@thebabyrico9857 I played, and that girl is the reason I do not watch anymore, her and the hundreds like her. I hated dirty players then and it is worse now. I would never have a high foul count and I would get them back when I could isolate on a drive hard into them hold the ball hard elbow to the nose knee to the groin, and most of the time foul on them the most I got was a charge. Or I would take them out on a layup. I would let them steal the ball for a fast break and pick my angle. I knew if I got a piece of the ball and did not swing at their head, no flagrant. I let my hips and my momentum do the work. I played against 4 guys that went on to play NBA ball But I had a rep after a while. F with me and payback is coming,

A forearm to the back is only allowed on the blocks (i.e., in the post). Even in the post some refs will call the foul if it’s opposite the ball-side.
For a defender to get away with a firearm to the back in the post, there must be a player facing the post from the outside, with the ball, looking to make an entry pass. That’s the only way it will be allowed.
A forearm to the back is an automatic foul in the open court…no-brainer.

The lady from ECU who put her elbow into #10 from Temple's back should have had a technical foul against her. You cannot expect someone not to retaliate when you make a non basketball play on them.
I watched this multiple times and I didn't see that. Still she should not have elbowed the girl in the face
You must’ve watched this with beer goggles. There was no elbow to the back. If anything the player from ECU was crowding/holding the player from Temple. The player from Temple threw a low elbow and later a high elbow which is why the ECU player reacted with the mush to the face.

From the looks of it, she took it because she dishes it. She literally had feet whole forearm in her back, riding/ pushing her nearly outta bounds. Physicality is a two way street. Just gotta know how to not be so obvious about it

That temple player had to be held back after throwing an elbow. And then the other player defended herself after taking an elbow to the jaw. The temple player should be internally disciplined. She should not have been let back on the court by her coach. Shameful behavior by the temple player and coach.

I love the competition, the competitiveness and aggressiveness . Just keep it balanced and under control which the refs handled it well and wasn’t extra. remember at the end of the day it’s about that W. So whatever is needed to get the team fire’d up and to make sure the opponent know you really like that. 😈💪🏾

My opinion because it's mine would have been Temple player-/tech ejected. East Carolina-tech. Lesson learned by both players and teams. Play resumes East Carolina ball.
