I find it really upsetting and appalling that Piers didn't call out the "Go back to Gaza" remark made by Emily Austin. If he can call out Brooke Goldstein to respect other panelists for talking over them continuously, how can he not call out Austin for making such a hateful remark. It's really like when you don't have a more educated comeback, you have to resort to "just leave, go back to your country". I don't like Emily for saying this, but I am even more disappointed in Piers as the host.

The debate isn't about a personal choice of where to live, this is about morality, humanity, legality etc. Defend stances with valuable contentions, not condescending remarks. If the West/Israel truly isn't "evil", it should not be difficult to defend the various accusations against them without resorting to such remarks. Reference to testimonies, witnesses, journalists, humanitarian workers, experts of international law, historians, independent reports, evidence, facts. So many ways to defend the good guys if they are. No need to get personal (and actually, racist).

@@washaa its a well known fact. israel left water facilities, a lot of greenhouses and other agricultural things. palestinians tore down all the greenhouses to take their materials. one group of greenhouses brought in 60 million per year, and there were a few that gaza could have really used to build its economy. they had a large dairy farm too which hamas ruined by digging tunnels under it.

They expelled nearly 10k Jews and the military occupation yet Gaza broke the peace treaty with bombing Israel literally a few hours later! They had som much money from the worldwide aid, Saudi and UAE build housing etc etc and Hamas just turned it into a terror base, whilst the leaders siphon off the aid money into their pockets.

I agree with that the debate should have been more equal. Nerdeen unfortunately has points that were just untrue and are verified and are factually undeniable at this point. The Palestinian people are a pretty much screwed because of Hamas leadership. The opportunity to build something great a great Gaza was lost the moment Hamas was elected and killed there predecessors and waged war on Israel. All to maintain this international big business called Hamas worth around 13 Billion dollars at the cost of the Palestinian lives. Hamas is at doing so much harm to the Palestinian people that it is uncountable. Right now in the present moment Hamas is harming the livelihood of Palestinians by an immeasurable amount. I am sure there are many things we do not know that are happening behind the scenes, geopolitical incentives, war is a huge business that are making people extremely rich but at the costs of civilians on both sides. and the fact that all the pro palestinian supporters do not call out Hamas and are actually blind to what they are is acting stupid.

I do applaud him for bringing a wide range of guests that all have different stances on the issue, but I'm talking about his attitude in the interviews to those that stand with Palestine compared to those on the opposing side - it's pretty obvious to someone who is truly neutral that Piers isn't unbiased. He's given less air time to those on the Palestinian side, interrupts them far more and in this specific interview it's clear he was letting the lady on the right say whatever she wanted, even outright racist statements like "go back to where you came from". He also can't seem to move on from condemning Hamas, which seems to be his entire stance on this - it's not really relevant if Hamas is a terrorist group or not. She claimed that Oct 7th was "Israel's 9/11" (what a ridiculous statement on its own) and when the other woman pointed out that that Palestinians have been suffering attacks like this for 50 years (statistics on death toll on either side back this up), she simply denied it. Absolutely ridiculous.
