- Ooooh baby, the NHL playoffs are right around the corner and you can feel it! Last nights Minnesota Wild vs Winnipeg Jets game was a rowdy one that got spicy in the third period. First, Reaves hit DeMelo into the boards hard from behind then, Hartman demolished Ehlers at centre ice which was followed by a nasty Pionk cross check on Johansson. All of this led to an inevitable fight between Reaves and Lowry but it was ultimately Rick Bowness, head coach for the Jets that did the craziest of them all. He went after Wild coach Dean Evason mocking him for being short. Evason, not one to back down, invited Bowness over! It was hilarious. I cover it all in todays NHL hockey recap!

There needs to be some form of discipline for the refs. They can be blamed for that game getting out of hand. Deal with Reaves on the boarding call and the temperature comes down. Nobody had a clue what was going to be called in the game and things quickly got out of control. Betman this is on you. Fix your refs, they suck.

@@bbh6925 after pionk tried severing Johansons spine. Bones multiple times called Eavson a little guy, and asked for a fight. Then when Eavson turned around and motioned "sure, lets go" Bones slinked away.
@@diplodocus1238 you watched the video, Pionk’s crosscheck was not worse than Reaves on Demelo and Hartman on Ehlers. Bones only lost it when evason sent his goon out with 24 seconds left. And bones never asked for a fight he just called him a little fuck lmao. Evason coached like a rat that night.
@@bbh6925 the hit on demelo was pretty clean, demelo played recklessly and that makes it look bad, sure give it 2 minutes i wont argument. But its not a dirty intent to injure play. Which is why there Will never be a fine for that. Hartman, sure its interference, but after ehlers is on the way to charge Hartman ill never call a reverse hit dirty. Also its straight after hitting Kaprizov kinda late. (The disgrace that is logan stanley injured kaprizov in last meeting. ) Then Pionk with what 30 seconds remaining, up by 2 goals, decides to drive the shaft of his stick into the unprotected part of Johansons (hes been a ppg player with the wild) midsection. And bones is suprised that his players have to answer the bell? Are you kidding? If the jets GM has half a brain, Bones is gone when the jets get swept in rd1 of the playoffs.

This all started weeks ago with Stanley "falling" on Kaprizov injuring him for 3 weeks. This has been boiling over for weeks.
Except Kaprizov himself said it was a freak accident and he lays no blame on Stanley for it. So cope how you’d like

I'm a Wild fan, but that was nuts last night. Refs need to be consistent. Hartman got a suspension today and he can be a hothead -- I'm just glad Johannson isn't seriously injured and will be available for the playoffs. Meanwhile Halleybuck was lights out. Check out when the Wild win in OT -- Evason always looks for an assistant coach to punch in excltement!
Hartman was gutless, good to hear about Johannson though, but you take a player out like that you deserve alot more than just a game or 2....remember whta shiffs did to evans? needs to be made an example of Hartman.

no surprise the officials missed that first one. I mean, the puck was there so why would any of them even be looking that way. The NHL needs to seriously fix the officiating in the off season. Terrible would be an upgrade. There needs to be a measure of accountability. The refs should have to sit and answer questions from the press to explain their poor showing so they can be publicly shamed.

For both teams. Coming from a jets fan. The Hartman hit was brutal. And the pionk hit was brutal and unnecessary. But if the refs just called the obvious calls, none of this would've happened.

He has been injured for most of the season and scratched from 2/3 of the rest as he is a 7th or 8th defenseman, only cycles through occasionally and hasn't played much that I can remember in the last 15 games.

@@aidendessler538 I saw the fight at regular speed and in slow motion. Actually, Reeves hits landed on Lowry's shoulder. There's a clip somewhere on youtube. On my first view, I thought Reaves landed plenty, but with the slo-mo, I could see that they hit the shoulder, due to their positioning. Punches on the shoulder might bruise, but for a really big, strong Lowry, wouldn't have much effect.

I think you're on crack, Hartman should have been out of the game for sure, definitely intent to injure and Reaves alone should have had half a dozen penalties alone that he didn't get. And yes Helle did keep them in just like the last game they played that the Jets out played them and Fleury got them the win.

The best ever incident of a coach blowing up was then-Avs coach Marc Crawford losing his absolute s**t in the '97 playoffs against the Wings' Scotty Bowman because his team was A) getting smoked by the Wings in a one-sided ass whoopin, and B) one of his players ran the Wings's goalie and rightly got beaten into a bloody pulp later in the game. In interviews since then Crawford always tries to play the victim and that the Wings were "taking liberties." Anyone can watch highlights of that game and see the Avs taking cheap shots and running the goalie once the game was out of reach.

I was at this game last night, I'm a huge wild fan. It was intense and fights physical, and I was up in the corner in row 16 behind the benches and I never really notice the coaches, but this game was great.

Evason wobuld kick the holy shit out of Bones. You can hear Evason's voice on the bench in the upper deck sometimes and it drips testosterone. The guy also has forearms and biceps like Popeye.

That failed call on Reaves was bad, but you failed to mention this started before the game began. The Jets took a run at Kiprill last time they played
If that was a run I think you need your head checked. Stanley is a huge lumbeing akward guy, Kiprill is midget, they got tied up and he fell on him akwardly, pretty obvious. Taking a run is exactly what the goon Reaves was doing for the last part of the 3rd period trying to goad the Jets into taking a penalty by running them constantly while those pathetic refs swallowed their whistles and was put on the ice in the last last seconds for one reason by the goon coach. The Wild had their goalie pulled, were given a power play and were pressing to score, the Jets get a penalty and they could have had a 6 on 4 man advantage with enough time to score one? and maybe two goals but Evason put his goons on the ice for one reason and one reason only. He is basically sacrificing the chance to tie the game to get some blood- and how did that go? What a hot head and poor looser after he rested half his team the night before in Chicago so he could kick the Jets - yep that worked out well.
By "jets" do you mean Logan Stanley? As as a jets fan, it's pretty hard calling Logan Stanley a jet.

This has been coming ever since Kaprizov got injured against the Jets. The refs sucked and made it worse than it had to be, but 75 was bound to be on the ice a lot there and the Wild weren't about to let anything even remotely late go on 97.
It is unlikely at this point but I hope these 2 teams find a way to meet in the playoffs
