- Coming into yesterdays matchup against the 2022 Stanley cup finalists the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Arizona Coyotes called on backup Connor Ingram in between the pipes. Boy did he deliver, doing something that had never been done in NHL history! He came up with an incredible 47 saves in his first career regular season shutout which is a new NHL record. Elliot on the other end, had a shutout of his own as this goalie duel had to go to a shootout to solve anything. This was really a fantastic game as the Coyotes continue their dominance in Mullet arena. Kick back and relax as I cover it all from last night in todays NHL hockey highlight recap!

I'm a tampa fan and I just can't be mad at this at all. He played his heart out and deserved the win. It really was the Ingram show the whole game.
I loved watching him in Milwaukee last year and was stoked to see him finally play up to the level I’ve hoped to see from him

Nashville is crazy to have let him go. They put him out to DRY against the Aves and he still put up a decent performance. Amazing.
Saros just lets you do stuff like that I guess. They let Vejmelka go as well. Next thing you know they'll just get bored of Askarov and let him go.

The coyotes don't get enough credit for consistently producing/reinvigorating the amount of NHL caliber goaltenders they do.

Congrats to Ingram from this Tampa fan! Something tells me he’s not going to be a backup for very long. He had everything but the kitchen sink thrown at him and kept it all out of the net
I think it also shows how good Tampa Bay has been at drafting and developing players. The players they give up are showing up big.

Im a Wings fan and i can tell you from experience watching Yotes, anytime we play them there goalies always stand on there head, Vejmelka is a very underrated tendy and if the Yotes get a defence they'll be a brick wall

@@nickhughes8179 I meant the start the Organization was really good and pulled a bunch of fans. It's mostly that since 01 they've haven't had that much success other than a couple playoff appearances and the 2011 Playoff Run. Which btw, the Coyotes were originally a Canadian Team moved to AZ.

Watched this guy play live for 2 full season when he was a Kamloops Blazer and this is no surprise... he is a big time goalie when it counts and given an opportunity to play.

Connor Ingram sets the record for 47 saves, the most by a rookie in his 1st career nhl shutout. He's does it vs Tampa the team that drafted him. Tampa has a +34 goal differential, 35 wins, and 73 points. Arizona has a -44 goal differential, 19 wins, and 46 points.

I have never understood how goalies are cut loose so quickly now.
It was always understood that goalies take the longest time to develop. they can't cut it by 22, they are considered dead weight.
I went to a stars game vs the yotes where the stars won 4-0 and my boy ingram was staring at the dallas ice girls so now me and my buddies have a joke that the stars ice girls are motivating him 😂

As a native of the town Ingram played for in the WHL, it's not surprising that he played so well, as he played his ass off here for years.. a great guy, he deserves the recognition, and it's too bad he ended up playing for the lowly coyotes and not staying with the bolts, where he could play with a contender every year. Sure he'd be the backup, but backup goalies get Stanley Cup rings too

Last week in the AHL, Arvid Soderblom got a career high 44 saves after an 11 round shootout. Pretty good considering when he started out the season with the Blackhawks, he got creamed. Of course the BH had NO defense either so there is that. Glad to have him back on the Hogs!

It's crazy what turn his career has taken. In the 20/21 season he was on loan at Björklöven (Swedish second division) when their first goalkeeper was injured and Connor wasnt good at all. He was also accused of being involved in match fixing and left Björklöven after that. Im happy for him that he seems to have found the right place in the Coyotes and that he has regained the joy for hockey again.

Too bad they can't put anything together in Phoenix, Glendale or Tempe. As a fan, I'm hugely disappointed with the ownership and it's commitment to the fans. I hope someday they'll once again make a showing in the playoffs. I'll always follow them, but as a resident of Glendale, AZ. This fan has had enough of the games they play with it's fanbase! If I want to see hockey in person, I travel to Vegas!

When watching preds vs avs I felt so bad for him. I was suprised to see them let him go after that as the avs did that to every team basically. Hopefully he goes to a good team next season.
Actually the last goalie to do this was vejmelka the other Arizona goalie with 46 in their 1st career shutout with most saves

Honestly if Ingram keeps this up, along with vejmelka, the coyotes have a chance. I've heard from people they are no longer tanking and if their goaltending is like this, they beat out many teams especially Tampa who has been weak lately.
I hope the Coyotes can get this sort of goaltending for all their games going forward for the rest of the season…has absolutely nothing to do with me being a Canucks fan, I swear! 🤫
