@@saab2906 I’m not so sure, but we’ll find out in a couple months. If the players rally and fight, and if the board proves to him they’ll go all in on the signings he wants… I genuinely believe Conte wanted this as a project to build over a few years, because let’s face it - he’s won everything, but never built a club. He’s seen Pep and Klopp do it, and wants to try himself.
Even Mou wanted the same, and went to Roma with the same assurances of being given time to build.
This is Conte calling out the players and board to see if they’re serious about becoming ‘Elite’. And it’s also exactly what he’s said the whole way through. If the spirit and fight and ambition is there, he’s prepared to go through the pain of building now to win later.
But if the people around him aren’t taking that seriously, then what’s the point? That’s where he’s at, in my opinion.

Conte was not attacking the owners in my opinion. It’s the players who have had epic collapses over the years under multiple managers using multiple playing styles. These players need to take a cold, hard look at themselves. Carragher’s a Liverpool guy, so firing Conte helps Liverpool’s attempts to move up. I think the players will listen to Conte, especially when he talks to them while standing on a podium of trophies he won as a player and a manager. The players are finally being put under the spotlight for their lack of effort and working together while slipping under the radar of blame year after year while the managers and the board take the bulk of the responsibility.

As a Spurs fan, Conte was spot on, we always blame the coach: Poch, Mourinho, and now Conte... enough. I feel his frustration. These players couldn't hold a 3-1 lead against a relegation side with the worst home record in the PL. To be honest, I don't give a * what these players are thinking, they need to start bleeding for the shirt.

  • @steve10

He seems to be saying that Levy and the board has protected the players and sacked managers when the players are bottling it , he seems to think Levy isn't giving the managers enough respect and letting the players do what they like.
I think it comes from Richarlsons comments and no one from the board did anything, I dont think Conte wants to be there and this is him looking for an exit and pay out. He obviously sees it as nothing to lose.
Players do need to take more responsibility when it's bad , they are pampered too much whilst paid more than managers , when it goes well players get credit , when it's bad managers get sacked.

Conte has avoided re-signing earlier this season and appeared determined to leave Spurs. He was a manager who has shown that, and it has been shown through Spurs' unstable results. It seems so irresponsible for him to do an interview about the team he led near the end of the season. There is a manager to make the players of this team good, and I think that is why the manager's salary is set at a high amount. This interview seems like a counter-evidence that the manager himself has failed to lead his team properly.

Conte is civilised version if Roy Keane. He expects the best effort from his team mates and in this case of his players and board. He is very intense and focused. If he has spotted the problem he will not lie. His players are grown up men and if they cannot handle his brutal honesty they must be gotten rid of. He would have told them this privately before telling the world. He said he could not lie.

Exactly. Kane shouldn’t have been needed for ONE MINUTE to win that game. If the players matched the FIRE of their opposition (not just Sheffield… virtually every game), then they’d at least win the odd trophy here and there and have a decent shout at challenging for titles.
That fire wasn’t even there for the CL FINAL… so how people are blaming Conte for it boggles my mind…

I'm a Spurs fan & completely agree with Conte. You can blame the manager, you can blame our previous managers & the players but it goes higher. Levy is destroying our club, he's the one that needs to go.
The players have been so inconsistent though, bar a few like Kane.

  • @bia-v
    @bia-v Před rokem

He's said what past Spurs managers have been unwilling to directly say. I have respect for him. And the players need to hear it. Kane is amazing but at times he doesn't pass when needed and they lose vital chances to score. It's something that I don't particularly care about though.
The worst of all is that defence. Dier is terrible and inconsistent. He'll perform well for 5-10 minutes and then dip. Lenglet loses the ball so much. Perisic sometimes plays in a defenders space and does not pass the ball to Son/has bad partnership with Son.
Conte should take responsibility for the last because Perisic and Lenglet have brought us down quite a bit. As for the rest, management is responsible for allowing Dier to even stay at the club.

He did, last night. Not explicitly, but he made the point very clear. The owner for 20 year’s didn’t win. The issue is the players. Too many players bought that the ‘club’ wanted, and not enough players OUT because the ‘club’ wanted to keep them.
Why didn’t Mou get the players he wanted? Why didn’t Poch get the players he wanted? Mind blowing that people are blaming Conte and pointing to the fact that the club finally spent money. Pointless spending if it’s not on players winning managers want.
He doesn’t need to name individual names. He’s only saying what everybody already knows… yet somehow people are blaming him for it?

Because it's Sheffield united they are not even in the premier league the squad that was put on should have been able to handle a local team.
