As in accurate by making fun of the people who tell tired-ass "TRIGGERED!!1!1!!" jokes? When have you ever heard a person in your real life, even if you a live in a college town, say "I'm triggered!"? Like most things on the internet, the people complaining about people doing a specific thing are more prevalent (and louder) than the people actually doing to the thing they are complaining about. It's almost like the echo chamber a person keeps themselves in is really the only place where they are most likely to hear about the specific thing they are inclined to be critical of. (Ex; People who watch Fox News constantly hear about (and consequently complain about) the 'war on Christmas", even when they've never actually encountered someone being offended by them saying 'Merry Christmas'; or their conservative friends posting about 'refugees' all day on their feed, even when they live in a state that doesn't even have any refugees...or how people who watch nothing but true crime shows feels more unsafe than those who don't)
The internet has shown a lot of people that they are not alone in their struggles. They found labels and communities they could finally belong to and they strived to educate themselves about the truth and bigger pictures of the world. And then some people became misguided or caricatures of those groups. I've been home invaded, in car accidents (none my fault) and I've been molested and sexually assaulted. Triggers are a thing, just ask a newly sober alcoholic how they feel walking into their old favorite bar or someone whose been to war and smelled burning corpses why they don't like bacon anymore. But most people know that the best way to combat traumatic memories is to desensitize one's self. I've never reported a professor for having a lecture on rape without trigger warnings and don't know anyone who would. And the people who screech on and on about how ridiculous trigger warnings are and how far SJW have gone to have safe spaces are hearing it from people who have an agenda. And sometimes it's a case that is so loony they have to report on it...because it is an outlier and not the norm.
All I'm saying is it's highly doubtful you have ever experienced a "triggered" person that affected you negatively, especially not enough to warrant you thinking this line was "painfully accurate".
Also, he was so flippant about saying it it was almost like a joke within a joke. Whatever. I'm just pissed that people make up these caricature and stereotypes of people that they've only heard about (but have never actually experienced), get riled up at the idea, and then act like it affects them to the point that they, I don't know, get triggered?
