there’s just something so powerful and enchanting about seeing women of so many different cultures and ethnicities coming together to learn to dance and embrace their bodies. It just brings me so much joy, all the smiles on these women’s faces 🥰

I grew up in Guam and Hawaii and this definitely makes me miss it. I have been back to live for a 4 year stint and gone back several times. Polynesian cultures have beautiful customs, art, and fashion and I love that so many people embrace them and spread them to others. That's the great thing about culture. Each has its own beauty and taking some of it into your life by adopting it is the best kind of appreciation. Asian and Pacific culture continue to be a part of me to this day. Thanks CZcams for suggesting this.
I fully agree. At the end of the day, we all have a shared history, and you can see the similarities in the variations of cultures. But it's the unique differences that are beautiful. It's such a shame that some people take issue with that and call it 'appropriation.' I've seen more than one person assaulted and/or verbally abused for this reason. I hope this kind of individuality is never lost, as the world continues to connect and becomes more and more like one big nation and people in diverse places wear the same things, watch/listen to the same media, are funneled into the same ideologies, etc.
Well I’ve never heard of ‘Appropriation’, maybe I’m just lucky. We have some beautiful culture here in Wales, of course, but I can’t tell you about it I’m afraid because we don’t have a lot of room left.
Especially going to the chamorro village and seeing them dance like this was very fascinating when I was younger, I wish I was put into one of those dance classes when I was younger. But now I am 14, and I don't live in Guam anymore so I miss the food and everything else.
