Octopuses are amazing. Untaught, with a tiny lifespan, their relatives mostly having the IQ of the shells on the seafloor, octopuses show intelligence and thinking equivalent to terrestrial mammals.

Funny thing is if you think about it the octopus actually intentionally did that it could have easily just waited for other crabs to come by it's home as they clearly had multiple times before but I think it got bored of the easy kills and wanted a challenge and a big metal cage seemed like a fun challenge to it
