I can't thank you enough for your help! After trying many other CZcams rs, the unplugging, is the key! I am disabled and filling that reservoir "4" times, plus dumping in sink, in back of me was difficult and tiring. I came across yours and I said, "Why not?" I did it the 1st time, "light" finally went off!!! Thank you, kind sir!! People should be reading yours!!!

This did not work , so after descaling I placed a piece of black tape over the light. FYI Keurig customer service is worthless.
The black tape works but my technique also works. Look at my latest video on how to descale a keurig proof that it still works. It’s a little more in detail

I followed your directions to the letter and it WORKED!!! One thing that I noticed as I got through the last step my Keurig automatic cut off. I think I probably hadn’t descaled it completely that’s why the light stayed on. Thanks again!

While this did work, I had to fill the reservoir about 4 times with clear water to get the light to go off. I literally pulled a bar stool up to the counter and sat there watching videos and dumping out hot water for about 30 minutes. Unplugging it didn't shut the light off, but after all the rising, the Keurig shut down, I turned it back on and the descale light stayed off. I use bottled water from a water cooler to make coffee but use tap water to clean the Keurig. The water here in the midwest is pretty hard but runs through a water softener. Don't know if that contributed to having to do the excess rinsing but I am non the less grateful for the video. Thanks.
I am glad it worked. I also use filtered water for coffee and tap water for cleaning. I also live in the Midwest and totally understand about the hard water

I figured it out
I was trying to start the descaling after I started power cycle
Wait till all lights are black and then hold the 8 and 12
The light stop flashing and then do the vinegar thing if you want and flush

Hey thanks I finally got that descale light out with your process however as I was about to unplug it from the electrical outlet I noticed that the descale light went out on its own. Mine is a different model and I have tried for months to get with no luck😅
That’s good I was able to help . Once in a while I’ll be in the middle of the process and then I’ll go to unplug it but it will take care of the problem itself

The K light went out because I ran too many mugs of water. No problem. With power light off, I pressed 8 and 12, ran one mug of water through, unplugged for ten seconds, plugged in, power button on and no more descale light :)

I could not get the middle K button to light up to descale. I pushed the 8&12 and nothing happened! I think i descaled even though the big K in the middle never came on no matter what numbers I pushed together! The descale light is still on! Yes I unplugged it for more than 3: seconds and the descale light is still on! I am worried my coffee pot is dying and I have a lot of K cups of coffee!
Make sure your coffee pot is powered off when pushing the 8 and 12 button. Then it should work
Please I need help, I bought my exact same coffee maker this Black Friday. And he connected it and the 3 oz lights blink but it won't let Let it make coffee just blink Please help 🙏🏻
Just click on other sizes for coffee. I don’t think it has a 3 oz
Didn’t work so I drilled the light out and now it’s fixed. Keurig should make turning the light off easier…on the other hand it was enjoyable drilling it out.

No need to filter the water while descaling,that way you don't run the chance of having the taste of vinegar or the solution in your coffe!

I never filter the water. I use tap water when rinsing after vinegar. Then I use filtered water

I always take the filter out before descaling then put it back when process is done

Try it again from step one. Make sure you have water filled enough where that light doesn’t blink
Clurig coffee machine cleaning
It works great
I tried this and now my Keurig won’t power on at all. I followed the advice you gave under a previous comment, but restarting the process isn’t an option as none of the lights will turn on at all.
Well, I called Keurig. There is no fix once the unit won’t power on. Thankfully, my unit is still under warranty so they’re going to send me a replacement. I wish I had just let the descaling light blink as having a unit that’s completely inoperable is way more frustrating.
I just redid this again yesterday and it worked great. I don’t know what else to tell you. I m sorry it didn’t work out for you

I had the same issue. You can find videos on resetting the thermal switch. The hardest part is getting the cover off
