The use and care guide is wrong on how to put the keurig into descale mode. I show you the correct way to put it into descale mode. How to put your Keurig K-Slim into Descale mode to turn the descale light off. Does your coffee taste bad? Is your coffee cold? Quick Fix to clean the inside of your Keurig Coffee maker. The descale light will turn on after 250 brews and the only way to get the descale light to go out is by putting the keurig in descale mode. The manual is not correct in how it tells you to put your machine into descale mode. You only have to press the 8oz and 12oz button. You do not have to press the over iced button.

If you follow the instructions that come with the solution it won't turn off the descale light. I knew this machine is not sophisticated enough to have the kind of "scale sensor" (if there is even such a thing) that others have suggested.

For anyone like me who descaled outside of descale mode before finding this video… while in descale mode, I added just enough water for 1 run through each round since you need to trigger and remove the “add water” light 2 times. Relieved I know what to do next time!

Finally! A solution to the neverending descale light flashing. I've put so much cleaning solution through this machine, following the manual's instructions, that I could have bought a couple new machines... this procedure actually worked! Why in the hell doesn't Keurig update their instruction manual with the PROPER procedure that actually works?...probably just want to sucker people into buying ridiculous amounts of their expensive cleaner! *Note- the vinegar solution is a much cheaper way to go...but you have to have the patience to allow about 30 minutes between cleaning brews, as it takes longer to dissolve the calcium deposits than the premium solution. ..but it DOES work, at a much cheaper cost. Thanks to the poster for this very helpful video✌️

Worked like a charm!!! If someone doesn't intentionally put the Keurig K-Slim into "Descale" mode and then follow the procedures listed here, your light will stay on forever. But, now my Descale light is off!!! You must do exactly what this video details. The problem is that most of us really didn't read the manual, then worse, we threw it in the waste basket. This video saves the day!

The manual is actually WRONG! This guy shows that in the video. Luckily, he figured out what Keurig screwed up in the steps.

Hallelujah! My Keurig doesn’t have a 12 oz setting, so I press 6 and 10 oz to start the descaling process. Pay attention to this video, the coffeemaker did completely shut off after the tank of fresh clean water went through!

This worked! I tried so .any times to descale with the proper cleaning solutions and the vinegar water combo but my machine was still flashing descale. These instructions finally got it into descale mode. Since I had already cleaned mine I went through the process with just water and my light finally turned off. This was the only place I found that had the correct instructions and process.

@@JustADad I can't get the descale light to go off!! I've tried pressing 10 and 8 buttons for 5 secs....didn't work. I tried unplugging overnight....didn't work. Very frustrated since I passed so much water/vinegar through the machine that my whole house reeks!
@@anitabunting1535 The way you dessale the unit is you have to put the coffee maker into Descale mode. The manual is not written correctly it says to hold the over ice button and the 8 and 12 oz button at the same time, I found that the way you put the machine into descale mod is by only holding the 8 and 12 oz button, but first you have to make sure the unit is powered downed, but still plugged in. the way you do this by unplugging it and then plug it in and no lights will be on. Don’t lift the handle that will cause it to power on. With it powered down hold the 8 and 12 oz button for about 3 sec and the the descale light will come on and the Big K Brew button will flash. This tells you the machine is in Descale mode. press the k button and it will run 12 oz through the machine. keep pressing the k button till the add water light comes on. don't touch anything just put fresh water in the reservoir and the add water light will go out and the big k button will start flashing again. press the big k button to start the machine again this time it will be rinsing the machine at 12oz each time you press the button. keep pressing the k button till the add water light comes on again. Once you fill it up with water again it will come out of descale mode and now you are ready to use it again. turn it on and the descale light should be out. Let me know how it goes. YOU GOT THIS!!!!
My K-Supreme, won't turn on after the descale. It puffed some steam and shut off...it's just 2 months old. Sad. For $150 descale should be a bit more simple.

Ahhhhh key is turning it off and pressing the 8 and 12 together. My Keurig looks a little different, but this also worked for me to get it in descale mode. Thank you! Descaling now and hoping the light warning resets when I’m done
