Nice to have a descale button on the machine. Mine doesn’t as it is one of the original models (2014). Straight vinegar with a 1/4 tsp of baking soda. Let that solution stay in the tubes for a few hours and run two gallons through the machine. Good as new and see ya in 3-6 months. ✌🏾
Also, she sort of tipped it toward the sink so water didn't run down under the cup area. (I had the same question) Good idea to use sink sprayer, too. On low 🤭
Mine tells me when it just starts blinking before making a cup. Depends on the type of water you use. If you use tap water that is not filtered then I am guessing once a month. I use filtered water in mine and I have to do it only a few times a year.
Descaled my keurg went fine and now that the light went out it will no longer work. (Will not power on) 3rd keurig in 3 years. Keurig sucks it really really sucks
What is funny is I only need to descale 3 times a year because I have a whole house filter system that takes our Fluoride, Chlorine and other minerals. This means the water we wash our hands, clean with, shower with etc.. is filtered. I cannot imagine how many times people need to do this who do not have a filtration system like I do. I am sure you know what I mean. What brand whole house filter do you have? Mine is westinghouse.
It is not possible to leave soap behind the way the keurig is made I you have one you can look and see. I cannot show myself rinsing the parts for 5 minutes the video would be be too long to be a short 😂😂😂😂
It was unplugged if you watch in the beginning your can literally see the cord. However onced the outer parts are clean you have to plug it in to run the descale cycles. No way around that.
It can ruin the piping after a loooong time but that’s if it’s constant vinegar over and over again. If you flush it out properly there shouldn’t be any issues. It’s time consuming because you want to make sure you get all the vinegar out of the machine. Sounds like you got impatient and didn’t flush it out properly.
@mariaelenacruz ~ vinegar has a strong taste and scent. You have to run fresh water through it several times; plus it is way cheaper than buying the cleaner (its just preference And...time 🕕

That is a great tip!! Thank you!
Too much vinegar will ruin it.
Half vinegar half water
Had no idea that little cup holder popped out from underneath.. thank you 💯❤️
You’re welcome 😊 😊
Trust me a lot of people didn’t know how to do it 😂
Also snap the bottom off and clean it too
I know 😅😊
This part helped so much! It fixed my problem. I was about to throw it away . Thank u thank u
Thank you for sharing this with me you're life saver.
Good to see I'm not the only one who just hangs it over the sink.
••• TURN OFF machine first before holding. 8 & 12!!!!!!!!!
She doesn't mention that 😈
I was so lost thank yoy
There is no turn off button on my machine. You just plug it in (after you have cleaned the exterior parts) and press those buttons.
The one very important detail to the descaling process. Thank you for mentioning this!
Yes that power button is the turn off button i believe @LissaMDecor
The power button is turn off button right
Man, I’ve been trying to figure out how to clean this thing all day!
You can actually run the vinegar cycles full tank until light comes off even if you do not enter the "descale" mode
Huh.... proceeds to make one more cup before starting
😂😂😂😂 I can relate
I drink so much coffee, I need to descale it sooo bad.
Yesss so easy!! Hope you get to it!
It is not turning off after 5 rounds omgomgomg
Thanks for all the tips!
😃😃😃
She bought a brand new brush for this video😂
I have a bunch of these brushes from dollar tree actually and this one is just for this machine. Kind of a germaphobe like that 🤷♀️
I never knew that piece popped out!!😊
I found out by accident one day
It works, the Keurig kit did not work. Thank you
Nice!!
Does anyone know the song used for this?
I literally just did this on Saturday 🥰
Nice!
Thanks I have the exact machine 😘
Great! Hope this was helpful.
It won’t damage it if I spray water in the inside of course I will in plug it but the inside electrical won’t be damaged?
No that part has no electrical
Also, she sort of tipped it toward the sink so water didn't run down under the cup area. (I had the same question) Good idea to use sink sprayer, too. On low 🤭
Worked 👌🏾. Thanks
Great!!!
I❤this idea
😊😊😊

How often do you need to descale the Keurig coffee maker ?

*Oh great it’s the ai TikTok voice again*
😂😂😂
Thank you
😊😊😊😊
What if the light doesn’t go away?
Unplug for 30 seconds then plug back in … light will go off.
magine not knowing the water ur putting on it is whats causing it lmao

I just know you leave soap behind in your keurig. I wouldn’t want coffee at your place

Put removable stuff in dishwasher !
It was pretty quick to wash by hand actually 😄
Don't do this. The dishwasher gets so hot it can warp the keurig's plastic parts and they wont fit anymore
Ummmm … please unplug before taking it to the sink to clean and descale.

Not a good idea, vinagre ruins the coffee machine not yo mention that the taste lingers
The taste definitely does not linger been doing this for years no issues 😊
Vinagre doesn’t ruin the machine…. It’s actually recommended for descaling in most coffee makers…
I’ve used vinegar on Mr. Coffee and Toastmaster machines before Keurig even existed. Cleans and makes great coffee. What are you talking ‘bout?
