  • Walk through of how to install and adjust a Mikuni VM22 carb on a Coleman ct200. This bike has a stage 3 kit on it and is cranking out some serious HP!
    Most parts are from Gopowersports.com or Hotrodminibikes.com

    5:42 slide and needle. The needle passes through the main jet that is actually in the carb. On some mikuni carbs you can access the main jet by removing the bolt at the bottom of the float bowl. Some mikiuni carbs like the VM 22 it’s real easy, bottom of the bowl and to the side.
    The needle is responsible for 1/4-3/4 throttle position.
    Best way to tune a carb is get the idle and main jets sorted then deal with the needle. After the needle is in a good spit you probably need to go over the pilot and main jet again to fine tune.

    That's not the main jet .that's the jet needle.
    The jet needle seats into the main jet.
    The jet needle controls fuel from 1/4 to 3/4 throttle.

    Where did you get the fork setup for your ct200U-c? I want that kit so bad! But anyways thanks fir the video cause I just installed with the 18lbs springs and pulse pump and top plate so I could move the tank to behind in the rack but only had a few minutes last night to try it and it started and was at like quarter throttle spinning the tire so I’m gonna try the jets I have with the kit! Thanks

      Yeah...maybe roller rockers, or ratio rockers! Definitely have to keep an eye on the valve lash, they run poorly when their all loosey-goosey

    Does anywhere sell a Angled intake manifold adaptor that points the assembly back so when the bike falls the air filter and carb dont break on the ground?

    Not sure if you done this or not. Pop off the valve cover and take a look at your rocker arms. My buds mini were super loose! If you snug them down to where they move just a hair. Micro gap the motor will run better.

    Those carbs come with a 98 main jet. I just put a 130 in mine and it performs much better. The problem I'm having is with the pilot jet. Can't seem to get the idle right. It has a 15 in it.if anybody has any ideas I sure would appreciate it.

    Please answer, where did you get the front suspension forks! I’ve been searching all over the web for something like that!

    • @mellostyx
      @mellostyx  Před 5 lety

      I ordered them from Coleman. They weren’t cheap ($300) but they do make a big difference. Later this summer I plan on trying to mount some cheaper pitbike forks on my other Coleman. They are only $50-100 on eBay.

      @@peytonthomas4506 Here is a link to the pieces needed to make the front suspension. I cant seem to find the full setup now either, but it looks like you can buy all the parts and put them together yourself. Or you could call Coleman and see if they will sell you a CT200U-EX front fork

      Or you could go with the Ebay Cheapo forks, but no guarantee they will fit on without heavy modification. Ill be doing a video on these in a few months.

    Would this negate the internal governor removal?

    • @Therealdacooter
      @Therealdacooter Před 3 lety +1

      No. It's a good idea to remove the governor gear inside the engine when putting performance parts on them, because the gear has a nasty habit of coming apart at high rpms

    I hear tuning these is a pain. What do you say and did it fire right up not messing with any jetting?

    • @2002ZRX1200R
      @2002ZRX1200R Před 4 lety +1

      These carbs are simple to tune. If you cant get the lag out via lifting the needle you need to raise the main jet size, and if you the idle mixture screw needs more than 2 turns you need a bigger pilot.
