    If you still have the brake's engine, I would love to get my hands-on it. Don't know why you went with a predator problem. Because it was cheap and fast. But a well built Flathead 5 horsepower 5 and a 1/2 6,7,8. They are super good engines. Easy to rebuild plentiful on parts. But they cost a little bit to fix and having period correct vintage motor on period correc. The bike really helps to someone looking to buy a tote gote If you were to sell it in the future. If you have an already. I just got another one and the amount of them. I have passed up because they don't have the vinplate. It's like old BMX parts. People will try to tell you all day these are GT parts, these are dyno parts. If it. Is not stamped and it does not have a part number. Then how do I know it's a real GT Part. Same thing. I went through when I was restoring my power light. People wanted to say they have power. Light did make parts that were not stamped. Power light, but there are better parts are stamped power light. If your bike. Still has the vendor on the front neck and you have the original engine. You could get somewhere around a 1000 to $2000. With the original gearing and the frame. 400. Running with a predator. 500. Just food for thought. You can buy the pool starter. You can buy any of the other small missing parts. Throw some new piston rings on it hone the block. The methane will run for another 50 years.

    Those carbs come with a 98 main jet. I just put a 130 in mine and it performs much better. The problem I'm having is with the pilot jet. Can't seem to get the idle right. It has a 15 in it.if anybody has any ideas I sure would appreciate it.

      No. It's a good idea to remove the governor gear inside the engine when putting performance parts on them, because the gear has a nasty habit of coming apart at high rpms

  • @Bubbleuprubberdown
    @Bubbleuprubberdown Před 3 lety

    5:42 slide and needle. The needle passes through the main jet that is actually in the carb. On some mikuni carbs you can access the main jet by removing the bolt at the bottom of the float bowl. Some mikiuni carbs like the VM 22 it’s real easy, bottom of the bowl and to the side. The needle is responsible for 1/4-3/4 throttle position. Best way to tune a carb is get the idle and main jets sorted then deal with the needle. After the needle is in a good spit you probably need to go over the pilot and main jet again to fine tune.

    Where did you get the fork setup for your ct200U-c? I want that kit so bad! But anyways thanks fir the video cause I just installed with the 18lbs springs and pulse pump and top plate so I could move the tank to behind in the rack but only had a few minutes last night to try it and it started and was at like quarter throttle spinning the tire so I’m gonna try the jets I have with the kit! Thanks

    4:11 I use an oil filter wrench for the back pully on my torque converter, place it right around the spring housing on the outside of the driven pulley and it holds it nice and tight without any damage. Works great on the trail👍

    most go the other way from clutch to CVT? a 60 is fine with your set up 72 ummm no

    • @mellostyx
      @mellostyx Před 4 lety

      the 60 just didn’t have enough low end torque with this set up. The 72 works pretty awesome… I still need to get the carburetor dialed in but the jack shaft with the 72 Has Been Way better for all round riding . The torque converter just slipped way too much if it was wet

  • @moerichard3110
    @moerichard3110 Před 4 lety

    That was a down grade, you lost your low end power . That clutch will slip if it gets wet. You will now be taking off in high gear.

    • @mellostyx
      @mellostyx Před 4 lety

      so far this jack shaft set up has been a lot better than the torque converter. When we were out riding for an hour or more in wet conditions the Belt on the torque converter would slip of the jack shaft has had no issues at all. Actually has more low-end torque just not as much top and speed which is perfectly fine with me

    Exhaust manifold grinded off ok for clearance?? Any issues with stock Harbor Freight pig iron exhaust manifold cracking off from your welded on pipe?? I have had fits trying to bend and weld a workable pipe to fit a 301 Harbor Freight on my Gote that will clear the moving belt torque pulleys....... I'm cautious about grinding the pig iron flange as the two metals on my pipe are different DNA - I believe as are yours... Throw another video up soon - good stuff :) Any plans for a beauty restoration?..

    nice video with great content.. 1 small item when you try and pull the flywheel...use a puller as sometimes when using a prybar or large screwdriver it can crack and damage the case behind the f-wheel. pointless mag is a nice option to consider for reliability depending on our intended use. great steering head mod!
