(The Salamanders') Chapter Master, Tu'Shan, came to blows with the First Captain of a Chapter known as the Marines Malevolent. The Captain had earlier bombarded a refugee camp that had been ambushed by Orks as he said that he 'didn't have the time to waste on saving the civilians'. This greatly angered Tu'Shan and made the Marines Malevolent generally seem like total assclowns.

Solution to the Imperiums Armageddon problem: Hand the planet over to a fleet-based space marine chapter. Therefore sweeping the problem under a rug in true administratum style.
From this lore series i have the understanding that the Inquisition is filled with traitors whos treason could only be exceeded by shitting on the Emperor's lap as he sits upon the Golden Throne. Anyone else want to join me in screaming "Heresy" and pointing at the Inquisition as some Sisters of Battle go past?

Only problem there is that there is no ‘pointing at the inquisition’ since they’re such a scattered and in the backgrounds organisation. It’s like trying to punish rich cartel leaders. Nine times out of ten you don’t even know who they are until their hitmen come for ya

This war was kind of a draw. Although the forces of Ghazhkull weren't able to overrun the planet, the Imperial forces have to keep sending massive amounts of reinforcements just to keep the planet from falling to the Ork hordes that have become a permanent problem on Armageddon.
Now Armageddon is the number 1 vacation spot for all Orks in the Imperium, where the Orks are guaranteed to get a good fight from the Imperial forces who keep throwing reinforcements at the planet just to stop it from falling.

These are Orks Arch. More Imperials to fight is obviously a win for them. There's a reason why Armageddon is one of the go-to planets for Orks to visit "if they iz lookin' fer a good foight!"

I think one of the great failures of the campaign was holding Ordinatus Armageddon in reserve. It would have been an absolutely ideal weapon against the orc rocks.

Hmm the story about grimaldus abandoming the Civilians was told in a very funnily biased way the Templar where not abandoming the civilian shelters because they did not care, in their philosophy them hunting down and killing the Ork leading the assault on the shelter would throw the Orks off and secure the shelters not by defending them directly but by making any possilbe ork attack unorganised and weak
Most Space Marines believe by taking the fight to the enemy, we reduce Civilian casualties. Which to some degree Is true, however in war there are ALWAYS going to be circumstances. As the example the Loremaster given, then Civilians were trying to transverse the destoryed Hive while Orks harried and butched them, the Salamanders then took up defending them while the Black Templars because too absorbed into their purging spree.
Space Marines are Angels of *Death*, however we were meant to *protect* the Imperium from it's enemies.
Exactly! The best way to reduce friendly casualties is to brake and destroy your enemy as quickly as possible so they can never be a real threat regardless of where or who they attack.

Hopefully you read this, I have a question regarding your earlier videos. Throughout this series you have repeatedly mentioned how toxic and lethal the planet is and that the bulk, if not all the population lives in the hive cities. In relation to this, in the first ork war you mentioned that there were a large amount of civilians fleeting to the city, so much so that they managed to trample a section of wasteland that later had to be mined. Where did so many civilians come from?
One other unrelated question, in your Ork Lore video you talked about the life cycle from Fungus to Ork and how big they got. Would you consider doing a video mentioning how the fungus can instead become a Squiggoth instead of an ork?
To anwser your questions. Yes, the vast majority of the armageddon population indeed does live in the hive cities. However, there are considerable numbers of civilians living in the vicinity of the hive cities or even out in the ash wastes mostly in small communties. Think of mad max and you are pretty close. We are talking millions of peoiple here. And that is not counting the gangs, raider communities and mutant nests out there. But even all these people counted together wouldn't fill even one hive city.
About your second question, what orkoid creature develops from the ork spores depends on many factors most important of all is how it is cared for. The first orkoid creatures to hatch from orc fungus are usually snots. Those snots will start caring for the fungus providing it with better fertilizer, properly shielding it from sunlight protecting it from hungry critters and other pests etc. Depending on this care other orkoid creatures start hatching. First it's probably going to be squigs, then grots and finally orks. Now, how does a squiggoth emerge from a fungis spore? The answer is: It doesn't. Squiggots don't naturally hatch from ork fungus. They are raised from especially strong squigs and fed a specialized diet and a specialized strengthing tonic. So in the end they technically speaking are just overgrown squigs.
