Is the 2020 Cadillac XT6 as GOOD as the Escalade just SMALLER?

- The XT6 is all new and fills a gap in Cadillac's lineup. Under the hood is a 3.6L V6 producing 310 HP & mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. It's exterior dimensions make this a midsize that slots in between the Escalade & XT5. On the inside you have 3-row capability and a high level of fit and finish. Is the 2020 Cadillac XT6 as good as the Escalade just smaller?

I'm a Cadillac fan , but $$$ 76.000 !!!!!!!!! And only a 6cyl none turbo engine choice !!!!!!! I can wait a couple of years when its $$$ 17.000 ...
Hahaha! I'm with you!
I feel your pain!
Same here Greg!
fastlonnie1 agreed not worth it at 76k but you can get a nice equipped sport for about 60k
11:36 "Chillin like a Villain" = Winning 👍💯
Thanks brother from another mother!
The question isn't whether the XT6 is as good as the Escalade. It's whether it's as good as the Lincoln Aviator. And the answer is no.
Stephen Hendricks I would take an aviator any day
That is a very good point!
I agree with you!
Was going to comment about how I prefer an aviator. I also can't justify buying a 70k vehicle 0-60 in 7 seconds. I'm sure there's something better for the money.
Great point! I haven't checked out a review on the aviator yet
The Cadillac XT6 is not bad, it has a pretty good style but it really has to improve the performance of the engine and the interior to really compete with other brands
AGREED! Especially for the price!
I’m absolutely amazed by this XT6. The price point to me is literally the only downside, I refuse to pay 70K+ for a MIDSIZE SUV. I’d definitely get an aviator or even an explorer, ascent over this.
Beautiful vehicle! Very impressed that 3rd seat 💺 surprised me! 🖤👍🏼
I am so glad that I could share this one with you!
When you pulled on this seat covers that plastic came back. Felt soo cheap
Good eyes! It must of been installed wrong.
Anyone else notice when Joe pulls the map pockets that the whole backing seems to be getting pulled off?
That piece was definitely not installed properly! It was totally moving when he pulled on it.
Great eyes!
I didn't even realize it. LOL
Hard loaded Lincoln Aviator Reserve 4x4 stickers for $75k. You twin turbo 3.0 with 400hp, handling pack with air suspension, DLP style HUD, 30 way seats, 360 camera and more. On top of that, Lincoln is RWD with AWD, so it handles beautifully.
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
Those Lincoln's are terrible. Electrical problems I hearing about some people that own them
@@damitbobby6677 perhaps so. I sell Ford and Lincolns. I have yet to see any one of them come back with any problems. One I sold had hatch issue, that was a simple reset. I haven't heard anything from them since.
@@ShersGarage mechanic friend works for ford and hes telling me to stay away from them. He works for Ford for about 10 years. He drives a 2014 gmc Sierra

When the XT5 is too small and the Escalade is too big. Smart move Cadillac. I’m not liking the new number badging(400) it’s torque in Newton meters and rounded up to the next 50. Weird. Nice job Joe 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
That is ULTRA weird!
HAHA. I love it when he says hostess cupcakes!!! I love those parts of every video.
It's nice but it's not great. There's nothing about it that stands out amongst it's competition. Not sure why anyone would spend $70k+ on this.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one.
A fool and his money are soon parted.
You make it sound as if 70 grand is a huge amount on a luxury SUV .. you can’t touch a range for under 100 and could go as high as 210,000 grand or you could go Jaguar SUV and spend 75 -100 so I don’t understand your comment
@@theneck5157
This is a supped up Chevy Traverse, not an uber luxury SUV or crossover like what you're talking about. No one is comparing a Range this size to a Cadillac. If Jaguar made something this size too, the pricing would be at the 70/75k and up. Those cars are just in different categories of luxury. That's what I'm talking about.
This car needs a refresh very quickly ....
You have the best reviews!
I really appreciate you saying that!
Great video, but personally I would prefer a lighter interior with the wood trim accents.
I can totally understand that!
It's a nice looking vehicle but it isn't worth $76,000
I agree with you Chris!
76k?😮 Ouch that thing has a huge price tag. It is a great suv but I can imagine paying that price tag. Whoever likes it and can afford it I think they will be satisfied with this XT6. Great review Mr. Raiti 👍🏾
Thanks for the compliment! I totally understand where you are coming from.
BMW X5 interior is nothing impressive for that price
LOL it's me again Joe. I remember this location & the building behind the XT6. U did a review on a Black 2020 Jaguar F-Type SVR here.

How fast will your Kia and Hyundai drop in value?
I'll buy every new and comparably equipped Palisade or Telluride you have for $35,000

Who says the Escalade is any good? All it is is a $90,000 Tahoe.
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective! I appreciate you watching!
The Escalade pays Cadillac's bills solely through name recognition. It's not like its plebeian origins are a big secret anymore
First of all hoes the Escalade is better than that bitch ass navigator it is gay month for the navigator
10:55 the rear knee bolster on that passenger seat-back is loose... in a 70k car, Typical GM quality!

@@RaitisRides You're welcome Joe.
Always sticking to my FORD instead!!
I can understand that.
Good luck, because Hackett is NOT doing Ford any favors
I love all things Cadillac being an Escalade ESV owner but I think this should be Traverse size and not Acadia size and then I believe I’d be happier. Bigger is better now a days. If CUVs and SUVs are gonna be all the rage we’ll then give me a real full size CUV like the first gen Traverse and Acadia not smaller with less features and amenities
Great input.
Raiti's Rides if it was the size of the new traverse it would be unstoppable and really fill the gap size wise in caddy’s line up it still feels like a jump in some case from that to the Escalade and especially the ESV when the new traverse is bigger than the standard Escalade... u see where I’m coming from?
one week into ownership of a CPO 22 XT6 Lots of road noise and interior quality good but not great.I drive a lot and will never get 150,000 miles on this vehicle. Navigation a joke. Even with Apple car play. Traded my 2019 Lexus RX350 L with 150,000 miles on it.Wish I had retained it. Ride quality was 80% better on the Lexus. A lesson I have learned. Saving grace, CPO price/12,000 miles @$46,000.

I own a Cadillac Escalade. However, I purchased a 2020 Kia Teluride for my wife and trust me when I say, It completely blows away the Cadillac Xt6 in terms of price, functionality, ride, and technology! Fully loaded with all the bells and whistles, $47,000... Don't believe me, just walk into a Kia dealer and see for yourself! Oh and the ten year 100,000 mile warranty is not bad either.....
I totally agree with you! Thanks for sharing your great ownership experience!
It does not

The new Lincoln Aviator is going to absolutely obliterate that 2020 “Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT” and rightfully so - Cadillac/GM has a LOT of work to do 🥴

Joe you could do a live 2020's decade of predictions for cars. I think the end of the decade will result in Level 4 driving autonomy.

This is nice. I just custom ordered an $80,000 Mercedes GLE 450. Technology has been set to a whole new level with the GLE 450. Can the XT6 compete or compare?
Nope it doesn't.
Nice 👍🏻 I like it Cadillac It deserves three Twinkies
I am so glad that you like this one!
The Cadillac XT6 is the vehicle people need but no one wants. It is essentially a luxury minivan disguised as a crossover. That 2000lb payload capacity goes unmatched by literally anything that isn't a van or a pickup, not even the Escalade can carry as much. It's main issue is that it's an Acadia with a Cadillac front face and dashboard. (For the sake of arguement I will ignore the GMC Acadia Denali, Chevy Traverse High Country and Buick Enclave Avenir as all 3 are better value and 90% of the quality as this) Personally I think it looks extremely cheap, but that might just be due to the black on black on black.
This is supposed to compete with the Aviator, but the advantage Lincoln has is that the platform was designed for the Aviator, then down scaled for the Explorer, not the other way around as GM did it. It also has to compete with European offerings like the X7, GLS, and XC90, which in comparison it's a total joke with a FWD based system and only that wimpy NA 3.6 V6. GM has a lot of faith in that shitty little V6 since it even powers their CT6 up until the top trim, the CT4 and CT5 both have more powerful base turbo engines. Anyways this thing really is really no where near the competition and is just a desperate move by GM to fill that sweet sweet crossover market. As much as the C1XX platform is great for the Traverse and Enclave, the Blazer, Acadia and this need a RWD platform with some much better engines, since that would compensate for the lackluster interiors in a way most would forgive. (Could you imagine this with the blackwing 4.2 TT V8?)
James is bringing the awesome comments and info! Thanks man for being here!
This is gonna make a great BALLING ON A BUDGET used car ........
You are so right!
Even that it's a GM product!! I like the design.. And awesome thing to know they didn't slap on it Turbo.. The only thing that kia and hyundai is doing.. Turbo and CVT is two things to watch out while buying a car.. Thank you for review man 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾😊

Another GM POS
Even more striking than the Aviator's advantage over the Caddy XT6 is that it's arguably a better value (!) than a comparable top trim Explorer. The top trims of the Explorer (ST and Platinum) with AWD have MSRP's of $60,000 or so. A moderately optioned mid-level "Reserve" trim of the Aviator is about $4000 more. It shares the RWD-biased AWD system and the 400 HP engine of the Explorer ST along with a far more upscale interior. Even more striking is that the RWD platform of each is supposed to provide a significant benefit in terms of towing. But the Explorer is has a tow rating of 5600 lbs, only slightly more than the 5000 lb rating of several FWD platform rivals. The Aviator, on the other hand is rated at 6700 lbs.
If one is going to spend $60K-$70K for a midsize three row SUV, the Aviator looks to be a far better value than the Explorer Not to mention the Caddy.
Those are some excellent points Stephen! I always appreciate you commenting!

I'm in love with the XT6. Been looking at the 2021 model but haven't had a chance to drive one yet. I have 5 chows so I need the extra room lol (they don't all ride together at the same time) but I find the Escalade too large for me.
Hopefully they come out with a V variant
AGREED!
Not seeing how this is worth 30k more than the wife's Palisade! I have NO CLUE how my cousins 40 more thousand Escalade is worth that. Our Palisade is just as luxurious, way more refined safety features, WAY better infotainment, way better usable options, just as much power, better warranty, and even though it's a first year vehicle, I would bet better reliability.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and input on this one!

That instrument cluster just does not cut it @ $76k. Going to take GM another 3 years to catch up. 8-way power seats either. Like other says too much for a rebadged Chevy.
Cadillac Quality Is SUFFERING !!!!!
Changes are suppose to be coming soon.
That is actually not the iconic Cadillac logo. Fun fact, in 2010 I believe or whenever the previous gen CTS came out, Cadillac removed the iconic leaf/floral crown ( like Julius Caesar wore) from the Cadillac logo we see today. They said they wanted to appeal to a younger audience and younger people preferred that logo so they changed it.
Thanks for that great info.
The cup holder cover actually closes just by a push.
This is true.
For that price, I wish they would offer an "older buyer" option" including more chrome or brushed steel trimming and dashboard. Their current look may appeal to a younger crowd, but, I think Cadillac is only fueling the rebadged Chevy image with leather, carbon fiber, alcantara., plastic. JMO.
Cadillac has a monster 600hp awd CT6 that's miles cheaper than its competitors so I'm really confused about the pricing here.
I totally agree with you!
76k??????????? 🤦🏻♂️

Please review the Cadillac ct5 when it hits showrooms
Nile Worthy it will be a done deal!
Dude! Go for a Pilot, or Highlander, & call it a day.
Once you pay $76k and the resale value plummets...your Pilot, or Highlander will hold more value!!
Some people need the name.

Nice!
I actually don't like the XT6 at all, I do give credits for the styling tho, very appealing. But, in the interior, it kinda lacks behind the competition, very outdated and old interior, compared to the Aviator, but I do like piano black trim, it looks good, but not the best. The engine is very, very bland and underpowered compared to the competition, like the Aviator or the X7(srry im really bias to lincoln). I can not stand the price, 76 grand for a chevy traverse in a suit, plus with very little innovation, that a ZONK for me. Caddy is late to the mid-size, 7 seat SUV market, and I hope they do a better job in the next refresh. Thanks, Joe, very good and unbiased review as always
Very good points! Thanks for letting me share this one with you!

Lincoln has really upped their game Mike!
Underpowered for me. Even Ford has the Explorer ST. I'm waiting for a XT6-V. Cadillac needs to take on the Euro performance SUVs. And 76K? GM needs to put down the crack pipe.

I like it quite a bit... But is it really worth $25K MORE than a loaded Telluride or Palisade?
I don't like it. I would rather spend the money on a Kia Telluride & a Stinger! That is a lot of money for just 310 HP on a luxury vehicle. Should have at least put the big V8 in it.
I love the Telluride.
I'd rather get a Kia Telluride fully loaded, and have over $20k left over.
