There appears to be a difference in the Banks 42250 (the one you were installing) and the Banks 42248 (the one I installed today). My truck is the 2015.5 LML Silverado 3500, which is essentially a 2016. My kit did not have the plexi window or the fender well gasket, but it did come with a plastic Banks elbow with a bellow and semi-rigid compressor adapter. Also the air filter and air filter box are different it seems. Your video is great, and it really got me going in the right direction. But I definitely needed the online instructions from Banks. Throw away the pitiful paper copy they send with the kit...the photos are terrible, and you will need the online .pdf to be able to zoom in and see the details.
Yeah we actually recently received the newer updated kit you mention. We will have a video coming out on that install soon 😄. It would be out already but we had a computer crash 😅

Banks is good stuff. Tuned, deleted here. Wonder if the change in air flow will jack up my tunes.
On our stock truck we didn't need to adjust our tune. I would suspect the same is true for tuned vehicles, however Banks would know for sure.
How do you swap the filter? Take it all apart?
You would pull the lower elbow and the filter comes out the back of the airbox.
So how often to you have to change the $130 air filter cartridge?
You can clean it just like a k&n
