Having performed with revered musicians including Ranjit Barot, AR Rahman, Zakir Hussain, Louiz Banks, Sivamani, Mike Stern among others ,Mohini Dey is one of the youngest bass guitarists in India.
She has been described as prodigy by many acclaimed musicians and has already been making waves in the music industry.
Radio Nagarik got to interview her on her visit to Nepal following the collaboration with Underside on The Rock Show

Thanks for the info. Pls. clarify more : what's his name. Name of the Radio Stn in Nepal. Is it in Kathmandu ? The Cell no for the Radio Stn. And do they really have a Rock Music Show airing from that Radio Stn. I'm amazed as to who listens to this music & do folks there speak English. We were there in Kathmandu & stayed in hotel Oberoi. There was massive influence of Indian Bollywood type of music. We were there for ten days & then we went to Himalaya base camp, took Helicopter rides but in evening there was no venue with live Rock band playing.Our guide took us to many Indian Music places & one small Slot machine Gaming joint. Had we known about this Radio Stn. may be we could have seen some local Rock Bands.

14:31 , I know this girl is talented but she lacks humility. Tal is Tal. The essence of music is not just to play the crap out of the instrument but also to respect and more importantly listen. She ran a 19 minute promo of herself (not that she needs it of course) of her accolades and achievements. People can google that shit up . Very one sided interaction. ASM must be like - ya go on interview yourself for me , i'll catch a quick nap in these shades.
no, what are you practicing for ? matters. there were amazing virtuosos like her who were really good at what they did because of parenting ( check her videos with her sister recorded by her dad in 6/8 timing) kids tend to do that to make their parents happy. exact same story of a 14 yr old prodigy violist who filled the prestigious royal albert hall named vanessa mae. go look her up and find the tragedy of perfecting something and later finding out that she did it mostly for her mom. there are more examples shuhang jung, lisa x so on . its parents conditioning and marketing and dare i say, great pr moves . initially practice helps, but after that its originality and personality . its not a race, theres no whos first and whos second, your 1/1. period.
fact is she's talented and has worked her ass off to be chosen by A.R Rahman, Steve Vie or Guthrie while you are nothing but a lazy fuck who wont get anywhere
