A.R. Rahman is the most legendary singer, music composer, songwriter, and record producer in India today. In 2009, for his Slumdog Millionaire score, A. R. Rahman won the Broadcast Film Association Award, two Golden Globe awards, the BAFTA award, and two Oscar (Academy) awards. In 2010, AR Rahman also won a Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award for his tremendous work in the music industry.
We have all listened to Kun Faya Kun on those hard days and Rockstar’s entire album. We always go back to Guru’s soulful music. We sing along with a 22-year-old song like Dil Se Re to date and feel proud of a song like Jai ho which got an Indian music composer an oscar. All thanks to this legend, Mr. A.R. Rahman.
It was an honour to talk to him about his passion for music, how he created a song like Kun Faya Kun, his journey in the west, and much more only on The Ranveer Show.

Hey ranveer ...I can't believe ...😍....lots of love
Sir plzzzzz Bhuvan Bam ke saath ek podcast ho jaaye!!!
This should obviously be the greatest episode of all time..
Without a doubt!🙏

True
Never heard so many thoughts from the Maestro. Credit to Ranvir in extracting these gems. Really loved it
Pls watch episodes of Kunal Shah
Have never seen AR Rahman this interested in a conversation....Ranveer it's an achievement.....I remember Karan Thapar saying the most difficult person to ever interview was AR Rahman....
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Exactly!
even on kapil's show sir was so calm....in this episode sir is speaking so much woww !!!
This is the magic of Podcast and Ranveer's talent. Now I clearly understand the difference between an interview and a podcast.
@@sudhas9256 kapil sharma introduced a great show but almost everything on the show is showing off and Rahman sir is way far form show off.
I recently saw one of his interviews where he said that he hadn't seen his Oscar award from the day he got it. He had given it to his mother who wrapped it in a cloth and kept it with her somewhere... And oly after her death they got it searching her room. And just after saying this he said that life shouldn't be water that is stagnant but flowing. This hit me hard. Whatever respect i have for him went X1000
Yes, he thought he lost it till his son found it for him from his mum's place. She wrapped it on a piece of cloth as believed it was real gold. That's cute..
Search about the concept of Rta/Ritam (ऋतं).
@@la5160 yes exactly. And arr didn't want to break it to her that it wasn't made up of Gold.
@@Debivlogs That's cute right.. Very sweet of him..

It's because he is nowadays promoting his movie...99 songs...That's y...It a PR work...Not like a r rahman wanted to be on this show...

Ranveer got emotional when A. R. Rahman sir said "when I see the enthusiasm in your eyes it cheers me up". He is such a pure, kind hearted soul. Love you Ranveer ❤️❤️ and keep up the good work 👍

Interviewer deserves a lot of credit for extracting so much out of Rehman Shb..he is not everybody's cup of tea when it comes to communication..this probably is his best interview till date
*The best thing about ARR is that he keeps exploring and innovating... he is never repeating his stuff !!*
Repeating is never wrong. It was yours in the first place! But (re)interpreting it in the recurring attempts is the key!
This is exactly what I keep writing everytime...he always keeps reinventing himself...he has never repeated another chaiyya chaiyya or ore chori
I am from Chennai, tamil guy and HONESTLY i was waiting for years exactly for someone to ask him such deep stuffs to ARR and this is the FIRST and ONLY interview which opened him up in a SPIRITUAL way!!♥️
❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
@@BeerBiceps Very well done brother. Deep questions, interesting conversation, been waiting for a interview like this with ARR for a long time.
Yes...
@BeerBiceps Ranveer thanks for this! Composer here!
Yes me too! Madurai ponnu. Love AR and proud he's a tamil dude :D but more proud of this INDIAN LEGEND!
At the cost of being misunderstood as a fool... i would definately say that out of all the spiritual people came on your podcasts.. this was the best spiritual content you have ever created... i mean the depth and honesty in Mr. Rahman's answers are just "Divine" ... Period.
It's likes a SAINT talking...the words which comes from him actually enlighten you.,.truely a very pure hearted human being.
“If you’re looking for that special somebody to change your whole life, look no further than the mirror.” 😌🙌🏽
I agree. You can learn from other but the fix is inside.
Your comments are like this and when we open a video of yours it said “what’s popping guys” 😐 didn’t expect that
Indian music changed by A.R. Rahman 💖
At 7:14 When he said im learning from you, I could see the enthusiasm in your eyes, is a different kind of communication, Ranveer felt something for several seconds, he did not let it come on the camera Or I dont know. Anyways, its always a spiritual journey to listen to A. R. Rahman Sir. Thanks
It's very difficult to take words out of his mouth. Must say, questions are very well curated. Thanks TRS team and ranveer.
Feel sad for Ranveer he works so hard for the viewers, He deservers More Views and like for the work he does.....Love you Ranveer
It's because the guests on his show are interesting but the whole interview is really boring and straightforward.
@@keshavnemeli boring? really? You seem to be a fan of those interviews where the interviewer asks, "iski do liney ho jaye" after every sentence.
@@aakashtarte6657 Fanboys like you wouldn't understand criticism. Abey aakanhe khol bhai. He could've gone into deeper aspects and ask riskier questions such as corporate intervention and bollywood remixing his originals. Par upar upar "sir sir" karke poore generic questions poocha. Atleast he could've made the conversation light hearted and fun or ask him some personal stories. Even I want him to see indian youtubers grow but this guy lacks conviction.
@@keshavnemeli I guess nowadays he is using his channel for his knowledge and he is asking those questions which he really needs to know and not for views purpose. He is using his podcast to grow his business not channel. He is using you tube just for fun and doing podcast with successful people just to enhance his personal skills.
Ar.Rahman is the guy today's youth should be inspired from ... that's how a good man is supposed to be Extremely talented dedicated passionate creative yet humble and grounded . True Legend ❤️
4:55 "If the Mind sees larger purpose in life, then you see many things manifesting! ". Beautiful! It all begins within the 6 inches in your head! Plant an idea and it will definitely grow to bring plenty of fruitful results!
This is my single most big take away from the genius. Well said by ARR
At Ranveer ‘s age itself
A R R became la legend .
Now Rahman is not only a legend
but also enlightened 💡.
He seems unaffected by anything .
The man, the legend. 🙏 Only love and respect 🙏❤️ All the best for everything. Thank you for this.

I work in Software, and have come across many talented and creative programmers, some of them have been my mentors. And when I am listening AR Rehman sir speak, I cant help but think of them! Creative people are soo similar; humble, down to earth, clear and having a fresh perspective on things!
From listening his song in a dark room to taking his interview...Ranveer has came a long way..huge respect ranveer❤💯💯
Firstly,it is a Legendary podcast with the maestro AR Rahman...❤️❤️❤️
super super special
@@BeerBiceps caption add kr diya karo sir 🙏🙏🙏🙏
First time seeing rehman sir speaking so frankly speaking his mind ,its the power of Ranveer , the comfort he gives a good listener and great at curiosity to make them engage in suçh deep conversation.
A R Rahman, composing to so many genres, so many artists, different cultures/ languages, different poems/ holy books to party songs…. No grammy/ Oscar can gauge or reward the talent. He is living music god 🙌🏼 I bow to him
What Aura this Man has!! He's got so much depth in his words. Proud to be your fan sir.
Perspective of a musician towards life is so beautiful.
The guy will be 55 in 4 months. Works like crazy but no wrinkles around eyes. No pressure. No weight of "I am ARR". People like ARR, APJ and others are living karma yogis who have found their surrender in the divine, have let go, give joy and leave quietly. Funny thing to say - ARR is not about Music.
11:20 the thin line between ambition and ego ♥️
This is the best AR Rahman interview ever!
Great questions asked, follow-up questions asked, Ranveer was a great listener and not just asking questions for sake of doing it.
In the beginning of the interview I felt Ranveer is starting slow and will come back to filmy questions later. But how nicely he stayed on life lessons, spirituality and asked those filmy questions under the umbrella of those life lessons. For instance, Kun faya kun. Nobody asked Rahman sir ever, about this song in this much detail. First time somebody asked him about what went onto making this song, what went behind the scenes.
I have been following this gentleman AR Rahman since 1995. Trust me I have watched all of his Interviews (yes, all of them. Even the Tamil interviews, even though I don't understand it). This one by far the best Interview in last 20 years.
Before this, Simi Grewal in 2000s took his detailed Interview and asked questions about his beliefs in God, spirituality and made him comfortable to answer those questions and then his first biography by Nasreen Munni Kabir too.
In this world of noise, egos, over ambitions, Rahman is still the guy who is not trying to impress anyone. Just doing his work to fill his soul. And that comes to the listeners automatically. We feel the presence of the almighty in his songs because Rahman stays in that realm of Sufism to bring those greater joys to us from that realm.
Thank you Ranveer for doing this. I got one more Interview to watch repeatedly 🙏❤️
One of the humble Person of our country, thanks Ranveer Brother ! For this PODCAST, and talk with A. R Rahman is biggest achievement of your PODCASTS 🔥.
Its was tears hearing this podcast....tears of happiness, tears of peace, tears of motivation, tears of enthusiasm

AR is blessed philosopher who accidently became a musician. A talent of the world! "The best idea comes from the simple people"! One of the best interview.
And thanks a lot for breaking into chapter. One can go directly again and again when one feels low to get positive energy from this gentleman!
You literally create a zen environment in all your podcasts where every person you interview just immerses. Congratulations for being able to do that at such a young age!
He has opened up a lot. Facing trouble to understand few things. But it was really fascinating to hear what he said and what he meant.

How beautifully he said "This is what the mind wants and I followed it"
I keep coming back to this interview again and again. I've followed ARR ever since I was a kid, and my relationship to his persona and his music has evolved constantly. After this interview, a lot of things finally made sense about him. Not just how he's so good, but WHY he's so good. Thanks Ranveer for an absolutely thoughtful and brilliantly done interview with amongst the most spiritual person I know and love.
Not just an another interview of the music maestro. It's a quest of seeker on the path. See the curiosity in his eyes, he comes back again and again, to questions which can lead him to look deeper into Reman's spiritual journey. Rehman's way is time tested, killing ego, eating less, being respectful to others. Great interaction 👍👌👏.
Whenever I see a video about AR Rahman sir... I get so excited just by seeing the thumbnail.. I can listen to him non stop.. Never ever in my life I have seen a man like him.. We all can see his efforts in every song... Never disappoints us with his work.
