Philippines Adopts New Strategy and they work! Sea Neighbors Unite to Fight Back the CCP

On December 16, 2023, Philippine President Marcos Jr. said in an interview with the Japanese media that China has ignored traditional diplomatic efforts and that the Philippines needs a "paradigm shift" in dealing with the issue of the South China Sea because Manila's diplomatic efforts with Beijing were "going in the wrong direction". A "paradigm shift" is to break an existing assumption or law, forcing a fundamental change in the perceived underlying theory of an issue.
For the CCP, the Philippines has gone from being a gentle friend to a troublesome neighbor. And the Philippines' new strategy will cause unprecedented problems for the Xi Jinping regime.

It only takes one complaint to cause a dispute. When the Philippines develop the military capability to actually contest the dispute China will stop disputing. Communists are cowards at the end of the day. They'll send millions of conscripts to their deaths as long as they think they're going to win, but then use cry bully tactics when they know they're going to lose.

Chinas foreign policy makes here a big mistake.
Hostile behavior and military aggressiveness is isolating China.
Even Vietnam may overthink their relationship with the USA now and join an Anti-China-alliance in this region.
So China will never become a world leader.
It looks like the CCP is actually afraid to loose the power in China itself due to their failure in economic crisis and COVID crisis and overreact with a terrible harsh regime to suppress any opposition in China.
And this Agenda of „we don’t tolerate any disobedience“ is effecting now foreign policy.
As a german I see the signs of dangerous paranoid behavior we have seen in our history several times with four different political systems failing in the last century. They all failed due to their own hybris and dragged the life of million humans down in a catastrophe.
Chinas CCP likes to see itself as a strong Power - but the terrible violence against the Uighures and Hongkong shows only helplessness to deal with any reluctance to this system.
The most powerful nations in the world are not those who have the biggest police but those who doesn’t need much police.

The aggressive actions taken by China are not solely aimed at directly harming the Philippines; rather, they are part of a broader preemptive strategy to assert control over the entire South China Sea region, with the ultimate goal of fortifying their presence and isolating Taiwan. By establishing dominance in the South China Sea, China seeks to create a strategic barrier around Taiwan, hindering any potential support from the US and other allies in the event of an attack. This calculated move, from Chinese , underscores the complexity and significance of the geopolitical dynamics at play in the region.

The Phillipines needs to substantially reinforce Pag-Asa Island since there is already a small airfield there. Including marines, missles, and even planes. They also need to create an artificial island on 2nd Thomas Shoal with at least a seaplane base. China is in violation of the UN law of the sea and international law. But the US has to stockpile 8-9 months of ammunition, missles, and drones because Xi Jin Ping decided to attack Taiwan, the US, and any allies several years ago. He's just been getting the Chinese PLA navy ready. The other thing we need to do is sign the treaty that controls seabed mining of metal nodules in the Clipperton Islands area. China is gaining as much access as they can. I know there are Republican senators who oppose signing the treaty on sovereignty grounds but we can't just ignore this area. It would condemn the US to permanent 2nd class economic status for decades.

That would completely negate their stated goal of keeping their territory open to freedom of navigation. Mines don't discriminate. What they should do is take a look at what's going on in the Black Sea right now and start investing massively in long range sea and air drones which can distinguish between friend and foe. Also long range, relatively low cost maritime strike aircraft would be quite useful. In a pinch they could acquire some of USAF's A-10 fleet, these would be perfect for engaging boat swarms of the kind China is using if they've got sufficient range to do the job and they should go quite cheaply since the USAF intends to divest the entire A-10 fleet in the next few years due to obsolescence.
