A very unpopular leader making wholesale changes to stay afloat. As the economy goes further down the tube, this will eventually be the end if Mr Xi and the CCP. In the longer term, China will be a much better place for it.
Unfortunately I think Xi will start a "wag the dog" war to distract from the economy. A lot of people will die because of Xi.

Liu Yazhou was one of the few Chinese generals who studied what he should know: How to lead and use an Air Force. Many of his publications are internal or secret, so few people were able to look at them. Such books are published by the National Defense University and are used as teaching materials for PLA generals. Any officer who studied there after he became an important leader got them.
He is aware how backward and inexperienced the PLA is, and that it would suffer badly in a real war. The present war in the Ukraine shows the huge losses an invading army may suffer, and a sanctioned Russia that has to beg North Korea for supplies. It is not what he or Wen Jiabao wanted to be the future for China. Interesting also, how his brother is in the USA and for good reasons is very unlikely to ever visit China again for as long as Xi is in charge.

Riddle me this: If an entire system is corrupt how can someone be accused of corruption?
The real question is "how can someone NOT?" And the answer is that the people at the top corrupt everyone and play favorites on who gets prosecuted. So corruption enriches them and gives more control of others.

They don't have laws protecting them like US congress.
