The sound system is phenomenal. The best I’ve ever heard! Own a white Aspec, my favorite part is the sound. Never realized a system could sound so good
I have brought an A-Spec in red and it seriously turns heads. I agree 100% about the ELS Sound system. I have never heard another car sound system to sound like this one. I have access to a Mercedes S500 and its sound system can't compare. This system rivals most home surround systems. I was in a club a few days ago for food and I listened to their system and couldn't wait to get back into my car.
Thank you for paying attention to the sound system. Almost no reviewers do. I'm an audiophile, listen from classical to jazz to rock, and while most systems are decent for pop, they fail miserably with classical and acoustic jazz or rock. I bought my first Acura RDX back in 2010, with reservations, but was blow away by that ELS system. Since then I've been trying to see other brands, but at 45K price point I have found no other with a better system. I'm in my 3rd RDX, 2019 now, and it still is the best balance of technology, performance, style, space, fun to drive and sound system. I'm curious about other cars you evaluated, so only the Volvo comes close?

I'm just waiting for my lease on my 2019 TLX A-SPEC SH-AWD (Red Interior) to end in 2022 so I can get either an A-SPEC or Type-S. I love my car but the new one is even better.

The ELS system is gold, it's never quiet during my drives. I'm super humbled by it, it's a great car. One thing to boost performance would be some gripper tires. Do settings like sport mode and fuel saving start/stop modes always reset to default "off" or "on" every time you get in the car the next time, or does it remember that you left it in sport mode with auto start-stop off for example? My 2012 Porsche Cayenne S remembers to keep auto start/stop off, but for some reason I have to turn back on the sport mode, which is 90% of my driving preference, and the buttons are even next to each other. Seems like every other car I get never has this set to remember these modes. Porsche also doesn't want to remember that you were in AM Radio mode and resets you to FM after restart. Annoying. Your help would be appreciated as I need a car with better than the 12 mpg I averaged in my Cayenne 4.8 liter over last 50k miles.
I was looking at the same 2 cars... Couple of things.. For a base model in BOTH vehicles.... I would'nt pay the same for the Acura because it is FWD... I would get it if it was a better deal though.... The 330i is faster... fuel economy is INCREDIBLE.. and it's RWD.. But remember.. all 3 Series are now made in Mexico .. which is fine.. but DO NOT pay the asking price.. You are getting RIPPED... because BMW is saving a TON of money on the Mexico production... so you MUST force the dealer to give it up... Don't back down to them...
Hey Tropher, what exactly would make you buy this over an entry-level German like C300, 330i or A4? Or even the 2.0T G70 or Stinger. They're all similar on paper with AWD and a good 2.0T. This car is slower in a straight line (probably due to it's nearly 4000lbs of weight being 200-300lbs more than the competition), but as you've pointed out it's excellent. If you were to make a comparative review, how would you say each one does in this entry-level small (ish) luxury sedan segment?
Beautiful car in and out but then I saw the butt prints on the drivers seat as you were getting in. Ugh! Acura had this issue when the restyled 2004 TL’s came out and were replacing a lot of the leather skins and the cushion underneath. 17 years later and they still have this issue.
I know when they got rid of the TL and the TSX in 2014 and combined them into one model the TLX. It wasn't comfortable for me at 6'7" anymore. Is this new generation of TLX larger inside? (legroom and head room)
How would you compare the interior space (especially headroom) to the Accord? I 6’3” and the Accord is one of few sedans I can comfortably be in but I the TLX is next level, but it appears to be a bit smaller overall.
smaller, quite a bit. It's smaller than last gen TLX which was based on 9th gen Accord and the 9th gen Accord was larger than the last gen TLX. I owned both. TLX was a bit wider, but back seat was smaller, and now they made it even smaller again even though the car outside is massive.

Love this car. I have a question for you comparing this TLX to the Accord Touring. Do you think the TLX warrants the $8 - $10k price hike over a fully loaded Accord 2.0T Touring? If so, what are the biggest advantages the TLX holds over the Accord? I realize the Accord is a bit faster simply because it weighs several hundred pounds less but I am more interested in the entire package than I am in a half second quicker to 60 mph. Also, would you say that the TLX is noticeably quieter on the road than the Accord is? A quiet, serene cabin is important to me. Overall though, I'm extremely impressed with the TLX and am leaning towards purchasing one in the next year or so but I am holding out until the Type S is released......and reviewed.
It's not really comparable imo. The accord is much larger interior wise and that kills the sale on a TLX if equal size needs are important, particularly the backspace room on an accord is like a full size car when it's more compact sized on the TLX. Huge difference. If equal size important, as well as serene cabin, you might want to look at the Lexus ES.

@@troytruong8246 Admittedly the reliability of that Toyota/Lexus V6 is pretty epic. I’m just bored of them at this point since they’re everywhere and this is so much more interesting and unique. Easily in my top 3 in this segment. Can’t wait for the Type S!
Tbh I would actually go with the new g80 just because of the features and 3.5 v6 turbo, but this would be my 2nd option (just hate how Acura wont give us a spec with advanced package)
@@brandonlin6126 New G80 is awesome. That and the TLX Type S would make for a tough call.
No 4cyl for me. Lexus tried and true v6 for me. My 07 acura tsx 4cyl breaks a lot. 2015-2020 tlx has many recalls and reported problems on nhtsa. Lost trust in acura. Driving lexus now.
@@troytruong8246 Admittedly the reliability of that Toyota/Lexus V6 is pretty epic. I will say that from what I’ve read the previous gen TLX seemed to have lots of transmission issues and this new gen uses the Honda designed 10 speed auto which was in neither version of the previous gen TLX. Though we still don’t know what it’s reliability will be like. Hope you enjoy many trouble-free miles!
@@williamlong2682 depending on your budget. I like the new tlx design too. Id buy a used lexus is350 or gs350 for daily use. Im very weary about the 4cyl turbo.
And, the car is comfortable as hell
Does the sound system have a sub woofer ?
So glad they finally updated the radio. Too bad I can only afford a 2018 😂
Thank You for these amazing videos. But fish eye angle from outside doesn’t make you feel the right size as shot. I saw the car in night in person and it was amazingly sporty and very wide. Beautiful car, felt like some 80grand luxury sedan when I saw it. Thanks
Great video! Very informative. Felt like I was riding shotgun. 👍🏾
i need more night drives lol
New Venza review?
Infotainment boots up much faster than I remember on the RDX. Software update?
Sure it has been updated
they upgraded the cpu apparently. i guess it helped obviously cause my 2020 rdx does take a few more seconds to boot up than this. kind of annoying too
yo love ur vids
A compelling argument for my next set of wheels.
Purchased a 2008 G35 new and think I'm overdue for a change.
Wait for the Type-S
@@AFCompany My speed demon days are so over and I consider a 2 litre turbo 4 is plenty enough! I want comfort and tech.
Big hit on this car was the wandering lane follow. I thought this odd considering the family of vehicles it's derived from as I thought all that kind of tech had been proven already.
May still go with Polestar but all up in the air with a pandemic still raging.
@@Rick9482 love Polestar that is a great option also. I’d go for Advance package if you’re not worried about it being too fast. Ya it’s strange I know it would sometimes throw you out of the lane on the past models if it lost the lines but I thought they had fixed all those issues. If you expect it to drive for you it’s probably not the best but as an assist most reviews say it works pretty well.
This video might have sold me on the TLX.
On my 2012 TL it came with an annoying rattle that could not be fixed. Did anyone hear a rattle on this new Acura?
LOL the car is a dream! Can't wait to trade it in for the type-s in 3 yrs when they work out all the initial issues!
Whatever makes you feel better LOL
@@joshua1608 I don't even know what the point of your comment is but whatever makes you feel better little guy :)
I got my A-Spec Couple weeks ago 🤘🏼 white with that red interior and of course the SH-AWD system
@@yankeeverse the last TLX after 5 years still had issues that Acura denied. That's what he's getting at. They aren't the reliable Brand people make them out to be. I just brought my TLX back.
What model do you have ?
