- In saltwater fisheries, there are slams in which you catch 3 coveted species in one trip. A grand slam would be 4. In a dinky little creek, myself and some cool dudes I ran into collectively caught the catfish slam! Might be the first time I ever have, and the more I thought about it, the cooler I thought it was!

If your up for a new recipe. Instead of using egg/milk wash. Roll fish in sour cream. Then use hot pork grinds as the breading. Sticks way better an has a sweeter taste to the fish. The only way I cook mine now. I watch your vids as soon as I get the notification, love the channel.

Ps if you want bait that lives through summer weather use some bullheads. Only things I've ever had eat a bullhead is, channels, flats and walleye.

@@RiverCertified Indeed ,I thought about that too , but you hit the big Three , can't beat that ,, The dreded Spawn Should be Gettin pretty close for y'all there too I'd guess , that slows em down Somewhat , Not to say it stops everytjing in it's tracks but it can make things a bit more of a challenge , I Know It's as a rule about the time the bluegill are finishing up here the Catfish Are next and follow soon after , Waters About right temp or gettin close 70/75 Degrees is the magic Catfish spawning number , Bluegill can still be found in some lakes that were a little bit Later to warm up but the big May bedding is close to done , I'll m still seeing some with Eggs yet so there'll be a post Spawn or late spawn as always For them about the next full moon I'm sure , It was a Bluegill Blast This year lol,, Catching a Few Extremely Good Crappie in Some Structure Treetops etc,, Now We tried Minnows and did ok got a few ,So I'mma Bust out the "Chicken Smoke" Or at least my closest thing to it on em next outing lol 🤣🤣,, the Biggest I have caught,my PB Crappie Came Off That Color scheme , and wouldn't ya know I can't find em here now so that means a Trip To academy sports in Mobile Alabama , the closest to me, but need a couple other things as well , anyway I rambled enough which I'm good at , Keep Doin What Ya Do , Onward We Go In Search Of The Ever Elusive Whisker Fish , Keep It Reelin Brother 🦈🎣👀😋
yes, that long flathead was a young one that fed well... you can tell by the dark spotting all over. Flatheads are dark at birth & lighten up to the pale green color as they mature.

Went out Thursday night with enough live and cut bait to catch everything in the river with whiskers and only caught a 4 pound channel and a 15 pound softshell turtle. ( he won't be robbing my bait anymore) :-( There was so much cover, deep water, shallow water and structure I was sure I would catch at least a 30lb flathead. Trying a new awesome spot just doesn't work sometimes. Bad thing about flathead fishing is getting the live bait. You guys caught some nice flatties on this one, great to see someone catching some!
