The hype around this processor is ridiculous. First of all the price per performance is about the same when you factor in the cost for an AM5 motherboard. And the 7800x3D gets decimated by the 13900K in anything outside of gaming and not by a measly 4% in a contrived 1080p gaming workload that no one with a $500 cpu games at, by 75-120% in multithreaded and 20% in single threaded. Eight cores might play games fine now, but just give it a couple years. Already we see games like The Last Of Us Part 1. People with 8 core CPUs were waiting up to an hour just for the shaders to compile before they could play. If you like price per performance, you should buy a 5800x3D or a 13600K. Conclusion: 8 core CPU for $450 in 2023? Yeah, hard pass.
Stop trying to post-fact justify your purchase you pseudo-intellectual dumbass. The price pr. performance is far exceeded by the 7800x3D on pure watts, to dollars, to frames. Unless you're actively working (that is, as your job) with software that is core count and clock favoured, no one benefits from having a $700 253w CPU on a dead platform, over a $550 120w CPU. No average person cares about Blender performance. So few games get developed that account for more than 4 cores/threads in multi-threaded performance, because that's not how games processing works, let alone use 16c/32t of them - it's not just more threads more better.. If you do that then suddenly a lot of the skewed price/performance charts start to unravel since the i7 build would be cheaper and the i7 is much better out side of gaming as a bonus.
Motherboard and cooling costs more.
@@Haxogone nope, there’s actually more cheaper lga1700 socket motherboards out there over AM5 boards that can properly support a 7800x3d. That’s one of the known downsides. Cooler would be comparable. A decent 212 air cooler or budget AIO would do just fine for both at stock speeds. We aren’t talking about the 13900k which admittedly does run hot. I’ve got a 13700k, 13900ks, and 7950(non x3d) build currently and the 13900ks is the only that needs a 280mm or better aio to stretch it’s legs.
@@solidus317 Intel CPUs require high end motherboards to OC and the 7800X3D can get by with a normal air cooler.
@@Haxogone never said anything about overclocking though. I even specifically stated stock speeds. Besides that, that’s simply not true. I’m running a budget $200 Prime-P board on my 13700k with $100 Noctua NH-D15 air cooler running a mild 5600mhz all core oc and 64gb 6400 c32 ram. And at those clocks it games competitively with anything out there and when it comes to productivity, an x3d chip isn’t even close. I’m an IT professional and my wife’s a graphics designer(hence the different setups) living in house with these builds that I personally made right now. Are you saying what you’re saying based on what you “think” is true or actual personal experience?
@@Haxogone if anything it’s the Ryzen that needs the better cooler due to its stock boost behavior. It’ll push its thermal limits to boost as as much as its cooling solution will allow. And that’s stock behavior, meanwhile the intel will have a set boost frequency for single core and multi core loads etc.

Bought asus tuf 760m wifi 6 d4 for only 139 cad , same b650 mb is over 250 cad , DDR 5 is still 30-50 percent more than ddr4, you paid your mb and ram for what you save from cpu.and none buy 13900k for gaming, but most of 13600k, it is just half price of 7800x3d. The critiria you set does not exsit😂
Wow
*cough* a620 motherboard *cough*
Get real.
Dead platform and if you’re mainly playing games the x3d is the better deal.
