    I've had the m&P 45 shield for a couple of years. What I really love about it is the natural point of a I can hold that up and look at what I want to shoot and I'm lined up in the sights without any trouble at all I'm wondering if you feel that the full size m&P 45 has the same point of aim.

    I’ve been a 1911 guy for awhile, I picked up a FNX45 tac last year and I was in the same boat as you. I wasn’t a very good shot with it at first, until one day I sat down with about 500 rounds and just shot paper all day until I figured were I was with it. I now conceal carry the FNX and I’m an average build about 5’10 220 lbs. I absolutely love the FNX and wouldn’t grab another pistol in a STHF situation

    Good video on the .45 ACP. Everyone is free to share their opinions in the USA. Some folks will never carry a 9 mm, so I appreciate your coverage of these fine pistols. All of these are well made and the respective owners should be satisfied. Some collectors want pistols "Made in the USA" while others don't care about the origin of the pistol. I looked at the FN and was surprised how heavy it is and was concerned about the overall weight in a concealed holster as you mentioned. I own two of the Smith and Wesson pistols you showed, except I choose the Performance Center versions.

    I had to ship my E-Series back to Smith 3 times because the left safety plunger tube kept becoming detached. However...Customer Service paid the freight each time and eventually turned this beautiful but problematic 1911 into the most accurate handgun at my range. And this guy's right...the trigger is awesome. Considerably less pull weight and the trigger cracks predictably and effortlessly with no travel with a perfect reset. I disagree about it not being recommended as a duty weapon. Thanks for the video.

    Plan on getting a few .45's in the M&P line. Biggest problem with this line is they dont offer it in .357 sig. I k ow you can get conversion kits for .40's but I've seen to data saying the excisiv pressure can cause premature where and cause failure wont risk it.

    Your offhand grip on the FNX could use some work. Put that forward thumb more forward and right up by the slide. Near the take down lever. If you do, recoil is so much easier. The FNX is the easiest shooting .45 out there if you can get the hands right. The only gun that beats it in any category is the 1911 for the trigger.

    Para Ordinance makes 1911s with double stack magazines. They're too heavy for IWB carry. But they are great shooters. (At least they were. I think Remington has bought them out now.)

    I've been interested in the. 45 shield. Own one in 9mm and it's just so damn comfy to carry. Just to have though.. It's hard to beat a 1911!!!
    I think a lot of people t believe the .45 is a harder round to shoot. I feel the .40 S&w(although still my favorite round) is a little more violent with recoil.

    • @BubbaBlackmon
      @BubbaBlackmon Před 5 lety +2

      The .45 shield is a great gun. I own the 9mm shield and actually shoot the .45 better . A little more grip and .2 inches of barrel length do make a difference.
      Recoil is not bad. Much easier to shoot than Springfield XDs .45 .

There are multiple ladies in our sphere that are shooters, hunters & ccw defenders. Have you had Mrs. Hegshot feature her preferences of certain firearms & for what & why. It would be an asset to my ladies I am sure others. Just a thought. Thanks for the great content & the time & energy to provide it.

    Best platform is relative depending on task you want to perform. Range and competition, 1911 hands down. Home defense? FNX 45. Carry options? Anything not larger than Glock 19 and these is a lot of competition there.

    The FN FNX Tactical is my personal favorite. But I have man size hands and I'm a USMC veteran. In my opinion the only reason the military didn't choose this over the Sig is cost. Sig came out with the cheaper of the two. Cheaper isn't always better.

      I agree with you 100%. You have a strong valid point. To me the FNX 45 Tactical is the best 45 on the market hands down. The only thing a 1911 has on it is maybe a better trigger and that’s it.

    • @HalfCrazy520
      @HalfCrazy520 Před 3 lety

      This is why magazine limits are stupid. One 20-round magazine or two 10-round magazines, what's the difference? Maybe a second longer to shoot 20 rounds if you need to reload in the middle? "THINK OF THE LIVES THAT WILL BE SAVED!!!"
      And that number is zero.

    The 1911 is an awesome EDC because it has an awesome trigger and it is slimmer than just about anything. It has a safety because it is single action. If you carry one, you absolutely need to train to disengage the trigger. You have to use a different grip. Your thumb needs to be on the safety to teach it where it belongs. You left out the H&K lineup. How? Have you never shot an H&K? Their recoil system is excellent.
