Why "only open to legal residents of the United States"??? We're in 2019 for God's sake, we're not in the 80s or 90s. Why don't you make your youtube channel "only open to legal residents of the United States" as well for that matter?

Dream of my life! Hello!đđ»ââïžđ
âHi Slash. This is your Sweetwater Sales âEngineerâ. Iâm just checking to see how those picks you bought last month are working out for you?â
Sweetwater guy knows more about Slashâs rig than his own tech
Pretty sure that's the guy who brings coffee to the people that matter.
@@ObscuredByCloud That, to say the truth, is been Slash's tech for almost than 10 years now, that spans 3 albums, many tours, and also the GNR reunion. I think he knows a thing or two by now.
@ Hmmm, curiously this guy looks nothing like the guy who did the rig rundown on premier guitar for his rig...thou I am sure someone like slash travels with a lot of people.
@@ObscuredByCloud that's because between GNR and Conspirators Slash has been constantly on tour for the better part of the last 5/6 years, so he alternates this guy on his solo tours with Adam, the guy that was on the premier guitar rundown, who's been with him since the 80's. They're both Slash's techs, they both know what's going on, and they just split jobs because the bad mofo can't ever stop playing music.
@ haha Vunter Slaush!!!! He played my neighbours kid party yesterday haha
It's cool to see that Ace is still Slashs guitar tech. I saw a video awhile back of him showing Slashs old rig set up in the past
Looks like an opportunity to showcase the new Slash signature Gibson Double Neck
The one Slash is using here is the original one from the GNR days I think.
@@Nghilifa yh the 1966 model
Thanks for not pulling out his guitars Really appreciate that! Iâm gonna go watch rig rundown now
hey ill save you some time - theyre all les paul replicas made by gibson so slash can keep the originals at home. the end.
Amazing! Always love to learn more about Slash's gear. Thank you for the video!
đ
How do you have a rundown and not show the guitars one at a time? đ„Ž
Exactly what I though
the interviewer didn't seem interested in that at all.
It was kinda like their attempt at the Premier Guitar rig run down but,...not quite as good.
Everybody knows they are all Les Pauls, so they just don't bother.
Because the band was about to take stage. #1 there wasn't time to show off all of the guitars that everyone already knows Slash plays. #2 The guitars are all stage ready (aka they are set up, tuned, polished, etc) and the tech didn't want to risk ruining that by pulling them out.
What a disappointment...didn't pull out a single guitar. Wtf!?
MetalusMaximus thanks
We don't care about guitars, we want to see the peeedalsss loll
that's what I thought too. Apparently only Slash is allowed to touch them.
@@iliana_b LOL! I think you're right!
Yeah why would he want anyone touching them? An idiots shirt brushes anything in the wrong spot its out of tune
guy from sweet water does a great job compared to most rig rundown type shows. nice job
I love the enthousiasm of the sweetwater guy. Amazing stuff dude. Keep it up and rock on đđȘ
Excellent... Ive been waiting for this!!
I love all this tech.. for the beautiful tones of slash through a LP đ
3:55 that elbow kinda hot not gonna lieđ„
Great interview!
Well, I guess it's safe to say that Slash is no longer just a 'plug and play, guitar straight into the amp' kind of guy.
@Large Coke Bullshit, I bet that he always use pedals and everything but the thing is he didnt show it, the guitar use the pedals for him.
He usually is when playing live but not on that tour
@@MaddoxMelton he never really was lol he had most of this shit from day 1!. It is true that the rig is simple, but he's always used a compressor and he's always used wireless, the hum Eliminator, and some sort of pedal be it an EQ or chorus ect...
Over here we have the Slash amp, Slash guitar, Slash picks and Slash pedals. Onstage he wear a Slash Tophat and Slash underwear. Guy give Kiss a run for their money
I think Yngwie has the most signature gear. Strap and strings too.
The ironic thing is: Slash`s original "AfD" L/P is not a real Gibson but a replica of a 59 with Seymour Duncan pickups.
Even more ironic, the guitar had original, vintage Gibson PAF humbuckers when he got it and he replaced them with Duncans.ItÂŽs still today SlashÂŽs main guitar for recording in the studio.
And now Gibson sells you replicas of this replica guitar for 6 grand each.
pLaY aUtHeNtiC and all that jazz.
imandan1966 ok calm down there bud, KISS have their own condoms, toilet paper, caskets, trading cards, flip flops, waffle makers. I could go on. So Slash has a signature amp, pedal, pickups & guitar, thatâs nothing...
you seem to forget eddie van halen who is now his own brand
Jesus that dust is killing my OCD but thatâs what a truly road worn rig looks like
Wow!Very nice video!đžđž
That was great ,loved the end ,checks in the mail and free candy lol
0:11 is that slash toy collection aside from collecting đž slash is really awesome đ
@0:10 seconds in: "Lunch 12PM - 4PM". Damn, I gotta have a talk with my boss.
Same here man. I'd love a 4 hour lunch break!
4 hour lunch, 1.5 hour sound check, then a 3 hour dinner?!
LUV SWEETWATER.. they definitely know their stuff đâ
Cool, but why didn't you show any guitars ?!
SwirkH seems to be a few minutes before show time he said right? So no time for bullshit if a guitar is messed up
Yeah a few minutes before showtime. Never ever touch a guitar just before the show. You drop one and now you have to tune up a new rig and wireless channels and all. Itâs a bitch and would delay the show for 30+ minutes if you run into complications.
I love the guitar techs. They may look like derelicts at times, but highly appreciated and smart.
What's wrong with being a derelict?
Awesome Stuff and Free Candy đđđ¶đ¶đž
I was at this concert! Amazing show!
Yes it was!
i dont think that Ace was slash guitar tech for the living the dream tour. Maybe thats why he wasn't allowed to touch the guitars. Everytime i saw slash live i saw the guy that you can see on the left of the screen testing the guitars.
Awesome
Hope you guys recorded one with Frank Sidoris as well
First rule: get out of the way when you do an interview especially when the focus is supposed to be the gear. The tech is stretching looking around at the guitars. Second Rule: when doing a gear rundown, show mostly the gear and less two dudes talking.
Thanks for putting this out though!
Third rule: If your not the one doing the interview, Shut your mouth and Enjoy the video ;)
VapnFagan nope
Sweetwater really does put a little piece of candy in every shipment. Sweet!
This is great!
This whole tone is in the fingers argument is interesting. As a drummer, I knew early on that every drummer when hitting a cymbal would have different transients from the attack of the drumstick as well as teasing out different overtones based on how and where they struck the cymbal. But with guitar, you have to hit the fundamental tone when you fret the string, too loose and too tight and youâre out of tune. So it seems like the only place you can tease out different harmonics is at the picking end - what picks you use, how hard or delicate you strike the string to generate transients and where along the string you pick to tease out the different harmonics - or should I say the different timber of harmonics. As harmonics donât change just the relative levels between them, ie timber. So when they say tone is in the fingers- I think itâs just the picking hand that makes you sound different
You can play to tight with your left hand, still be in tune, and choke the note a little bit. And here are tons of other things going on with the left hand (Like vibrato, the positioning of the fingers relative to the fretboard) that make a big difference. It's really in both hands, not just the picking hand.
I find it hard to believe that a Slash Rig Rundown could not show any of the guitars on camera out of the boat! Was this a restriction from Slash's management - 'don't show his guitars'?
Signature pickups in a vintage LP, silver jubilee, greenback loaded cab, signature wah and octave fuzz, DD-3, Analog Chorus, EQ and noise gate, boom you're done.
This one could be a lot better, but I guess time was a constraint? That being said, itÂŽs not really that complicated. His sound is basically just a Les Paul through a Marshall Jubilee with a boost in front of it for solos (although he used Boss Ge-7 Graphic EQÂŽs in the Effects Loop during the GNR days for solos) and a wah. ThatÂŽs the basic sound. I guess thereÂŽs a little bit of delay for leads (The DD500s) , the octave/fuzz pedal is just for specific parts and the DD-3 is used for slither (intro and in the quiet part just before the solo) and thatÂŽs pretty much it. It can be replicated "fairly" cheaply .
That being said though, a great les Paul is not cheap by any stretch, neither is a classic Marshall.
@@theoriginalheartstrummer True that. A brand new LP Standard cost as much for us today as a Standard in 1959 would have done to an adult back then. So itÂŽs definitely a serious investment, thatÂŽs for sure.
@@Nghilifa Sorry I know this comment is ayear old but very interesting to see that he switched to the MXR 10 band. I wonder if thats a result of endorsement or if he finds it better? I know for a fact he is using it to shape his tone. The guy delivering the info seems like a bit of a numbskull and just blurted out that its also for tone shaping. Interestingly for a very long time it was always said that he used it 'for just killing off the high end from his wireless' but I suspect he was using it to do more than that for sure. I havea GE-7 on my channel and its good but im getting the MXR 10 band as I want to see what a slash signature guitar with jubilee emulating the eq settings will do!
@@LeadersandLunatics No problem! I heard the same thing (about tone shaping due to hiss created by the wireless) , but I now suspect the same as you do. It might have to do with the fact that he's got signature pedals with MXR, so for consistency's sake, he just uses the EQ pedal that they are offering as well. It'd make sense.
@@Nghilifa For sure! I just ordered one there from Thomann. I was reading that the additional bands on the MXR are not actually that audible on a guitar speaker so maybe I'm not going to get too much bang for my buck but its worth a shot! Obviously tone is down to a huge variety of things (most importantly the player) but I do think his tone has always has a beautiful precision that is just not achievable with a three band EQ on the Jubillee (lord knows ive tried!! :))
That Fort Wayne show Rocked!!

so cool :)

And can ya tell Mr. Bowcott used to work for Marshall.?. đđ
Who is interviewing who here??
I need to know why he isnât using his AFD head. Every single clip Iâve heard of that amp is absolutely AMAZING.
Was thinking the same myself
Those Ray Bans are legit
Wow over having a friend there sheâs like move there lol sheâs just a sister her friendly face I couldnât imagine anything more
That ending tho! đ
Does Slash have a tech for his Conspirators tours and another for GNR tours??
What cost for this rig ?.. my house&my car never enought for this stuff
For those who might not know, Nick Bowcott used to work at Marshall and Guitar World
...was also the guitarist for the band "Grim Reaper."
There is nothing like four 4x12 mesa boogie cabs pumping volume and crunch.
Hello
My like is for the CC shirt
Ya ven el si lleva equipo chingon.
Mom!!!!! Look slash got an awesomeeee guitar rig...
Hey Nick, it's Alan Salerno. Cool vid! Just stopped by to say hello.
What is a rack wah?
I thought that Dunlop 1.14 picks were purple? Those look like the .60 orange picks.
Bill Ducas He said they have different designs on them- but theyâre 1.14âs.
custom color / signature picks :)
So... The guitar tech plays the pedals for Slash along the shows ?
Settings on JCM 800 are
Gain: 6,5
Treble, mid, bass: 6
EDS 1275... How do you mic a head?
Just curious, how much would a tech for someone like Slash get paid per year??
This is a far cry from the ritz 88: one derrig Les Paul and a JCM 800
Never thought slash used that many effects.
Beside boost for solos, all of those effects are used on like one song each haha
(yes i know this comment is a year old)
Came for the rig tour, stayed for the Cannibal Corpse shirt!!

Curious, where's Adam Day?
I guess this is why kemper was built
I feel like Iâm the only guitarist that doesnât care much for Les Pauls.
I appreciate them. Love the tone certain people have gotten from them, obviously.
I just donât dig playing them, myself:
I hear he is quite good
Guitar effects snobs often bash on the Boss DD-500! I personally use one and itâs GREAT! You just need to learn how to programme it! and create decent patches :) itâs not that difficult
Next time show guitars Sweetwater! 99% of us can't afford them, but 99% of us could care less about some BOSS pedals too.
Still waiting on my free candy since Iâm ordering a Epiphone slash AFD special 2 from SWEETWATER for my birthday in March lol đ.
Why is the name Boss Noise Supressor sealed? Slash doesn't have a contract to advertise this pedal? 5:53
It would have been nice if the camera caught the pedals from the top to see certain settings..just saying.
Someone should edit it this video and make it speed up every time the tech pulls his shirt down even though it hasnât moved...
8:09 ...What Sweetwater - and all the utubers they sponsor - *DON'T* want you to know.
(Not to mention Marshall, Gibson, MXR...)
So true
If slash only has one cabinet on stage for feedback and only on during those moments, why are there 3 full stacks? And if itâs only for show, might as well put some heads on top to finish off the look, instead of looking all decapitated
Nick bowcott knows his shit..Dudes a legend, & knows more about slashes rig than his tech does. Lol!
where is adam day?
is that Slashes elbow?
that guy activate and desactivate the effect pedals?
Yes
Free candy! Lolâd so hard!
Where is Adam day?
Wow. Leave this to John Bollinger and Premier Guitar. Nick did alright, but this is not that great.
Hey, don't discount the free candy! That's how I get away with buying new gear. My wife is like "Oooh, candy!" while I smuggle the new stomp box into the bedroom.
I thought Adam Day was his tech in GnR!?
What would Slash sound like thru a 5150-3?
Eddie Van Hudson
@@divebomb99 Underrated comment. đ
For everyone saying he didn't show any guitars if you don't know that by now, slash is the only one who is aloud to touch the guitars after they are tuned
CANNIBAL CORPSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What happened with Adam Day??
I think Adam D. is for GNÂŽR tour not for Conspirators tour... not enough money I think
He and Ace have kinda been taking turns for a while with Slash now. He's been touring almost for entire years with very short stops for recording his solo albums. I guess that takes a toll on a tech after a while.
Adam specialy for Gnr, And ace for smkc
where is the guitars??????????????????????????????????
3:10, Sewer Jubilee? Lol
Napalm Death sticker? Oh yes! But I wonder where Adam went? Ace is badass though
Guitar?????
