Thank you for all your info you’re a fabulous guitar player ! All the best from Australia 🇦🇺
i have an MG30gfx amp that i dialled a slash tone into ,on the OD2 channel, then popped it through a TS808 tube screamer then into slash duncans in an epi lp custom. Gets a surprisingly good slash sound at a low price point.
Pretty amazing and old news, but this really highlights that without the EQ the riffs sound a bit like Izzy/Gilby/Fortus and then with the EQ you jump to the front of the mix a la Slash.
Woahhh bro it's a wonderful covers of Slash riffs guitars. Outta get me, Nithgtrain, Rocket Queen, My Michelle, It's so easy, etc. Welcome to the jungle, etc. Almighty, good and incredible amps and pedals. Thank you a lot from Brazil.
That is a serious 1K boost on the MXR 10 band, I only boost it like 3db and it's very noticeable. The Alexander Jubilee is a nice pedal for getting the Slash tone, has a nice mid range.
slash is the reason i picked up a guitar as a kid, slash is the reason why i play and love my les pauls, im thankful hes still around it will be one of the saddest days of my life when he dies, hes my #1 inspiration for guitarists hes up there with EVH n Clapton
Holy crap Jesus came back as a guitarist! Thank you so much for this video, I’ve been searching forever to find something like this. I like you Terminator 2 reference, that’s the first GNR song I ever heard when the movie was released and they’ve been my favorite band ever since... cheers mate from Las Vegas!

Slash's first signature amp came from most of his original Jubilees being ripped to shreds at the infamous St. Louis riot back in 91. Slash went to Jim Marshall about having some more Jubilees made because he said if anything happened to the amps he had left, he would be "totally screwed." Jim told him that they could, but it would (apparently) be more cost effective to release the amp as a signature model instead. Also Slash didn't get his Derrig LP in the mid 90s, it was in 1986 just before the recording of Appetite as his guitars he had at the time "sounded like shit" in the studio. Alan Niven (GN'R's manager at the time) got it from a guy called Jim Foote who worked at Music Works in Redondo Beach (he's still there by the way). Yes I know I need to get out more! 🤣
Amp is correct. The delay pedal is what he uses now, but for the original welcome to the jungle effect a roland srv 2000 was used. For whatever reason that rack unit is the only one that gets the timing identical to the actual recording.
I love it how when u play you look like you’re convinced you’re headlining knebworth. Joking aside thank you for the enthusiasm even when showing us tunes u could play blindfolded with your toes
Man this is Awesome. I bought a Epi Slash les paul in 2008 which is still a very good guitar. This video reminded me off all the G n' R songs/riffs/licks that I once learnt but have long since forgotten 🤣
I think it'd be cool if he used the AFD 100 more on the GNR tours. There's a live show on CZcams with Miles Kennedy from like 2012 where he uses it and it sounds amazing.
yeah especially on anastasia live in sydney, the pedal notes ( i think thats what theyre called ) on the electric intro is the tone i dream of , but i think i got fairly close using amplitube
This guy knows what he's talking about! I have a mini jubilee for some time now and I was playing with some "official" slash settings for the amp (presence 8, bass 7, middle 7, treble 4 1/2, output master 6, lead master 10, input gain 6 1/2), then I came here and saw he's using different settings... ok, let's try that way, and wow! hell yeahhhhh!! now I am completely in the AFD ballpark, perfect tone even in 5w mode (both output and lead master controls to 6 at least). Thank you very much man!! Now the MXR 10 band eq is coming...
@@douglasbordoli7000Presence 4, Bass 7.5, Middle 5.5, Treble 4.5, Output Master 7, Lead Master 7, Gain between 3-4. It just sounds massive and clean at the same time. I hope it helps... 😉
I checked out the MXR 10 bands eq, but ended getting better results with a Friedman buxom in front of the amp, amazing pedal!!! By the way, watch the presence control, this amp has plenty of it from the beginning. I find it sounds more pleasant to my ears with the control around 2-3. As everybody says the eq section is very sensitive, just a increase/decrease of one point makes the difference.
Quick update after a year. The buxom was good, then I tried the golden pearl and it was even better, but too much high mids and trebles. Finally I got a MXR Timmy, and the amp sounds terrific!! for the first time I have the impression it sounds just right!! I can understand the hype about this pedal for pushing Marshall amps.
@@PMTVUK i know randy was most closely associated with a Black v with polkadots but he also used a Gibson Les Paul Custom and had a Jackson V with and without a whammy bar, he used marshall super lead plexis often which where white ones which contrast with the les paul and Rhoads V, and for pedals it was an MXR Distortion +, MXR Flanger on the chorus riff of Flying High Again, MXR Stereo Chorus to replicate his double tracking he did in recordings, MXR 10 Band EQ and apparantly he used wah in live gigs but i've never heard him use it also he had some sort of octave on the recording of the over the mountain solo
I used a silver jubilee mini combo (2525c) and can get very close. I had to change the speaker to a V30 though. For some reason they come stock with a greenback speaker. So in short - if you get a mini Jube for the slash sound, change out that speaker.
