    Was cool to see this at Foamcon! Good video to get in the mood for making a APOC blaster

    Awesome video as per usual. This thing was tons of fun to play with at Foamcon.

    For stock darts, try using PETG as the barrel material. I've had great success using it in RSCB set ups with my 4B.

    Nerf should hire you, all homemade nerf makers, and all nerf modders.

      problem is that they won't make high powered blaster (not rival) Because of toy safety standards.

    you have to make a scar barrel to make better accuracy.

    USCs won't feed in your RSCB because the head can't get through the CPVC well, I think a longer barrel could help with the accuracy,

    Where do you get the plunger thing

  • @MisterNathan
    @MisterNathan Před 7 lety +2

    That really seems to make for a clean, compact blaster (from what little I know about homemades).
    What would something like that cost? There's no NIC scene around here, but I've always been intrigued by homemades, and something like that would be useable in the wars I attend.

  • @mongobusbongobus
    @mongobusbongobus Před 7 lety

    So how do you get the anti-kink thing in there? As far as I can tell, you'd have to put it on the plunger rod, stick it in, and then drill and tap with the spring and rod underneath? And wouldn't drilling and tapping cause some gunk to get in the plunger tube?

    • @archangel2014
      @archangel2014  Před 7 lety

      You build it into the plunger-rod-kebab when you build the thing. And if you're careful it shouldn't get much junk in the plunger tube, or at least no more than normal operation would anyway

  • @Boomtendo4tw
    @Boomtendo4tw Před 7 lety

    you would not have that spiral issue with BOOMco darts. And that straight pipe system would work fine with the silicone tips. Just shorten the front barrel

    • @archangel2014
      @archangel2014  Před 7 lety

      I've never used Boomco darts so I cannot personally speak for them, but I am dubious about this claim. Boomco darts are still stabilized by mass, and homemades output far more air than anything storebought. I am well aware homemade darts would work better, this is merely an experiment. As for silicone darts, any dart that I need to have coated in corn starch is not a dart for me, I play in 100% Northeastern humid summers, sunshowers, and straight up rain. They don't stand a chance at functioning

    • @Boomtendo4tw
      @Boomtendo4tw Před 7 lety

      Aeromech I have a lot of experience with them. it's not a dubious claim. they fly straight even at over 300 fps. Frankenzilla himself has even shot them from a 4B tank front loaded and had no issue. OC Nerf has also shot them very hard from a bbb and no whirleys. I also have plenty of others in my Facebook group who have shot from high power and BOOMco does not whirly like nerf elites.

    • @Boomtendo4tw
      @Boomtendo4tw Před 7 lety

      Aeromech and actually they fly much better in rain than nerf darts. I've played in rainy conditions and my darts flew just as straight as normal. Also you do not need to coat the tips in corn starch. I'm sorry you haven't given them more of a try

    • @Boomtendo4tw
      @Boomtendo4tw Před 7 lety +1

      Aeromech I also just competed at NIC level in Los Angeles and did very well. I outranged everybody and got a lot of tags. You should really put more time into something before dismissing it. "Dubious" offends me dude. I've been working hard on this stuff. Give it a chance and maybe you will see the benefits. And if you don't like the tips, replace them with felt

  • @Dogster6
    @Dogster6 Před 7 lety

    Also can you do a full tutorial and pricing sheet?

    • @archangel2014
      @archangel2014  Před 7 lety +1

      No on all accounts. 1) scar barrel does nothing, darts are light enough don't have the rotational inertia and are stabilized by their weight not by rotation. Show me a side by side comparison where accuracy is noticeably improved. It's showmanship/salemanship as far as the science is concerned. 2) I have multiple tutorials on all of the necessary fundamentals already on my channel, and I do not have the viewership to justify spending 20-30 hours filming, and 10-15 hours editing. 3) Also probably not

    • @Dogster6
      @Dogster6 Před 7 lety

      Aeromech I also heard similar about the scar barrel, but I read through an article written about how out of three possible lengths, the short and the mid did nothing, but the longest length made about 85 percent of the darts fly straighter

    • @Dogster6
      @Dogster6 Před 7 lety

      And by straighter I mean within a foot of the target from 30 feet

    • @archangel2014
      @archangel2014  Před 7 lety

      It's meaningless without a control group. Compare side by side a set of 50 shots from each length of scar barrel, as well as a standard smooth barrel, Perhaps appropriately sized PET or brass. From this you can get a full analysis of dart spread, average precision, and effective range. I suspect a smoothbore barrel of the same length as the scar barrel would yield similar results, and the scar merely slows the dart down to a veloicty where it is stable
