    How expensive is Budapest? How much money you will need to plan with for your Budapest trip? This video will help you with those questions and perhaps offer some ideas on what to see and do in the city!
    We are covering various topics from transportation, to food and nightlife and how much they cost.
    When visiting a foreign country, especially if it doesn't use your currency, it is difficult to calculate and prepare the budget that you might need and much you need to save up for your trip.
    This video should help you have a clear picture in the end. Now of course everyone has different needs and how much in total you will spend depends on your preferences but we give at the end of the video 2 scenarios which we think covers the budget of an average tourist.
    Disclaimer: these prices are from January 2023 and we have calculated with a conversion rate of 400 HUF/Euro.
    Below are some links for most of the locations we are mentioning in the video, for you to be able to check the current prices when you are traveling, so make sure to check those out.

    Came back from Budapešť yesterday after a 3 day trip. We had lunch and dinner in two different restaurants. Its worth mentioning, that tips (+/-15%) is often already included in the final bill. On both ocasions we paid 80+€ for 2 persons. Watch out for drink prices, as they simply doubled the final sum. If you are not carefull enough, you can end up paying 10€ for a single lungo.

    @pedrorochadacunha8129 Před rokem +4

    even your 'cheap' example day is too expensive, haha. Those that will stay 2-3 days, should divide the city into areas, and each day visit one area by walking (yeah, you will walk a lot, but that's part of the experience, you will see the whole city). As for food, just buy cheapest stuff on any supermarket, for like 2-5 euro.
    Eating the local food is cool and should be supported... but for us on a tight budget, it's waaay cheaper to just buy stuff to fill your belly and keep your energy up, no need for fancy stuff.

    • @StuffedCabbageAdventures
      @StuffedCabbageAdventures  Před rokem +2

      That's absolutely fair, and probably applicable in any country. As I noted it all really depends on someone's personal preferences. Going to supermarkets and bakeries significantly cut the cost (even if those were also hit by inflation, they are still the cheapest option). And skipping experiences like the thermal baths and the river cruises also help to save a lot. Luckily Budapest can be fun just by exploring it and walking around 😊

      Like in most cities, the places mostly visited by tourists will have higher prices. However altogether Hungary got more expensive in recent years unfortunately. There are some alternatives 'though. Restaurants in the outskirts can be cheaper, or buffet style places we call "kifőzde" where you can get food for reasonable price. Not Hungarian cuisine, but there are cheap Chinese places, or Turkish restaurants giving food for decent price (but quality won't be stellar). Or buying in convenience store and cooking for self is a cheap alternative for those who live here :)

    How easy is it to immigrate to Hungary? America is failing and I want to leave. No joke.

      Hey there, unfortunately I am not well versed with the immigration requirements for Hungary, but on Facebook there are groups for Expats (like Expat Info - Budapest, or Hungary Expats) where I do see questions about this topic, maybe you'll be able to find some more info there 😊

      If you get a job there it is not hard, but just leaving and going there is not as easy

      I'm hungarian don't immigrate here salaries are low and food prices are high. The system is corrupt. The HUF is very weak. if you want to go to europe go to Austria, Norway or other countrys but not to hungary. My mother is a teacher she cant say anything about the goverment or she will get fired. a chasier man or a McDonald's worker earns more then a teacher

      Inflation is almost the highest here in Europe only come here if you have a guaranteed high paying job. Rent and house prices are also ridiculous.

    Budapest? Okey, still more like a tourist- selfie here. Nothing personal, but why filming yourself so much? City itself not interesting? Sorry...

      Sorry if you don't enjoy talking head videos where things are being explained it is a form of content that works well. I personally like to see the people who talk in the videos, to me it makes the content more easily relatable. Of course not everyone likes that, and its fine you dont, but this is not the first time you make this remark while it is probably already established, that my face will be on the screen on this channel 🙂
