[4k] IBIS HD6 - New Bike Day (build)

- Brand new Ibis HD6 build, from frame up. I sold my Santa Cruz Heckler SL EMTB and decided to buy a second "analog" bike - this HD6. I documented my reasons for selling me EMTB in the video linked at the end. Coming up soon will be my ride review on this HD6 along with a review on DVO's new Onyx 38 SC D1 SL, which arrived one week after building this bike.

Thank you. I’m making sure to get a good amount of miles in on the bike before reviewing in, but almost there. As for the shop, it’s my buddy’s but I’m working towards something similar of my own

Everyone aside from JKW, but he likes the Bronson so he’s weird. It’s a really good bike. I was initially put off by the travel numbers, because I basically wanted a more progressive Ripmo. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how it rides like a trail bike.
@@dkumagai30 JKW likes the Bronson because he can run 27,5 wheels on it. Easier to toss bike around and do wheelies.
@@Dempsey222 both the hd6 and Bronson are designed to be mullets. I don’t see what point you’re making, you could slap a 27.5 on an HD6 and call it a 27.5 bike too. Furthermore, JKW generally prefers 29ers like the Ripmo.

Any frequent pedal strikes due to that low bottom bracket height? Awesome bike though
Came with 175 cranks and definitely struck my pedals quite a few times. Just got 165s and slightly better but I’m still mindful of when/where I pedal
@@MILTONATOR I think 155-160 cranks will get the job done
