- Dive into the hardest mountain bike race through the eyes of an intense FPV drone shot. The @dutchdronegods followed Kade Edwards down the Red Bull Hardline downhill mountain bike race track, a tough trail that twists down the steep slopes of the Dyfi valley in Wales. It's known as the most difficult mountain bike race course in the world, and just getting down it on two wheels is hard, but to capture it in a single shot drone flight is presents a different kind of challenge.

People probably have no idea how much skill that drone pilot possesses. Insane.
People is a really funny word to me when I look at it slowly
None, All the people who fly drones have never even tried the manual mode type flight.
Is crazy how much the gov hobby has changed and became commercial and all of this imagine doing this in 2015 with your good old fat shark for goggle and the drone.
@@babybird1138I was flying 10" quads with original KK boards in 2010-11 and it's insane how far things have come.
@@MotownModels holy cow quads were so rare back then in 2010 and 11. Their flight controllers were absolutely nothing compared to today. i dont think fpv systems existed back then, or they did but not to the public yet lol. its kinda dumb they call everything fpv today.

I'm a professional fpv pilot and I can assure you all that was some epic flying. Slowing down and speeding up to match Kade through all that is so incredibly difficult to do, not to mention the work involved in getting signal through all that. Top job to all involved

@@bigjoedrummer audio filmed on a separate run without the drone following, then overlayed onto this video, at least I imagine that’s how they do it.

@@joeymerkin8319 it would be nearly impossible to time it up due to variances in each run. They probably had a mic on the bike itself
These drone shots should be used more often - I've seen then in ice racing and mountain biking they really give you an idea of the speed and skill of these athletes

The control is epic. The framing was sensational. I'm also an FPV Pilot and I just can't describe how hard this is to do. This guy is amazing.

@@TheSirDuckofAwesome It is obviously mixed in a studio and obviously not taken from the drone. That does not make it "fake". It's either taken from a mic on the bike and the drone hum is removed in post. Or it's taken from a run on the same bike on the same course without the drone and then synced up with the footage. Either way, whatever the technique, the way it's done is very good and separates the pros from the amateurs when it comes to drone cinematography. And because of that, the audio tech deserve a little credit.

Absolutly absurd how precise this was manuvered. Beeing shot by pepples and going between those rocks afterwards. Also some turns were just so perfect. Just seemed to have problems to fit the speed, but considering he is probably not a downhillrider and the speeds they are operating, short delays have big consequences. Guess the drone canˋt stop that fast whilst retaining visibility on the rider?
@@panganaranga yes, you are right. Keeping up to speed with something (car, bike and etc.) is the hardest thing in fpv world especially when the speed changes instantly. There are no "brakes" on the drone. You have to tilt it, but not too much to not lose visibility on the object. The rider on bike is great, but the flight was insane. Just the setup to get enough signal for the whole run is something unreal for basic pilot like me. The flight itself is just on another level.

What Red Bull has done to sports and extreme sports in particular is just incredible. They keep on pushing the boundaries and this video is proof of that. The drone shots give a much better view of what these guys do when riding downhill. The whole team did an amazing job and I am sure they enjoyed it as much as we enjoy watching it. Thanks to Red Bull and hats off to all the amazing people involved!
What these drone fpvs do so very well is capture the speed differences during these track runs. The acceleration after hitting the road gap drop is mind boggling. Downhill riders are on another level.

As someone who’s been on both sides of the lens in these activities, the skill from both individuals is incredible. Crashes definitely hurt less on the side of the lens that I’m on most frequently now!
Feel ya brother. After 40 the body just doesn't handle bouncing off trees. A lot easier to replace a bent prop!

This is what i love about these kinds of videos, it has that interesting pull, the build up, then its just golden, uninterrupted footage that we are hyped for. Best of all, that list clip was raw, and had no unnecessary dude perfect style music. Love it

So how did you manage to get all the crispy clear sounds from tires, cheering audience, the chain… but not hearing any (annoying) noises from the drone?! 👏🏻
Yeah, I'm puzzled by that as well. A few things that could have happened here:
1. The audio is not from this run, but a different one with no drone. Audio is then slightly stretched to match the run we are watching. I believe this is most likely. Some extra sounds like people cheering on the right channel could have been added later.
2. Foley. Sound editor picked up a lot of different audio bits and put this together.
3. There's some new noise reduction plugin on the market (AI maybe) which I don't know yet.
4. I'm not sure how much you can clean with a spectrograph, but I would be betting not that much.

Being able to ride a mountin bike in this way must be such an amazing feeling. Sensational bit of skill (same for the drone pilot!).
I race downhill and fly racing drones so I know how hard this is from both sides, Amazing riding and flying!
Wow that is really good footage. I like the beginning of the video where they show the drone crashing.
I also like the way the rider barely pedaled at all, just coasting, pumping, and trying not to jump too far at times.

This is the coolest film work ever. Excellent choice panning out on that steep tech section before the road gap. Perfectly executed! I would love to see urban downhill because there are a ton of crazy tight sections through people's houses and tight alley ways.
