Good review. Biggest con for Atto3 seems to be the price, at 35L on road its too costly and customers expect a whole lot of amazing. The car does a lot of things really good, the interiors are really plush and well made, lot of features(although missing few basic ones for this price range like ventilated seats, auto wipers and memory seats), scores very high on safety tech and 5 star Euro NCAP, and just a bigger car compared to Nexon or the ZS EV. Biggest pro is its increased range at 400+ real world and globally leading blade battery tech. Will probably be a niche segment best suited for "standing out in the crowd" as Autocar put it. Cheers.
BYDs blade battery is one of the most advanced battery technologies in the world. It's one of the safest too , no thermal runaways. And very less battery deterioration. You can keep using fast charging how many times you want consecutively. And these actually give the closest real world range.
Price is comparable to diesel innova top model which doesnt even get a sunroof. kia ev6 with similar range cost almost double that pice , 400+ km real world range means you can even plan long trips!!! So its Well priced
The interiors are a 10/10 but seems a bit costly for what it offers. Maybe due to its battery tech ? If the battery lifetime is good compared to the regular one and/or safer compared to standard setups, then this car can be considered
I used to drive bmw 530d which I owned for around 9 years and I recently went to see atto 3 and booked it after I felt that interior quality is almost on par with BMW 530d and very futuristic, for sure this car will run at one rupee for km and this car is not for nexon or xuv 400 buyers as it is premium product, not cheap one like nexon or xuv400.
Nexon/xuv400/tiago are worth too for that price segment. You can't compare products from different segment together. You can compare this atto with volva ev though.
I think that the speedo console is borrowed from BYD Olectra EVBUS ! Anyways great 👍👏😊 product It's Euro Ncap 5 star safety rated!! The beast in its segment Need to see the real world performance
I bought this car recently with the main intention of having driving comfort. But I am regretting it now due to the following reasons. 1. My back is sweating if I drive the car even for 1 hour and there is no use even if I turn on full AC. I am feeling very uncomfortable to drive after an hour and long drives might cause even more discomfort to me. This defeats the very purpose of my buying this car. 2. I recently dashed another car slightly during a traffic jam. The car's technology did not apply automatic break although it was claimed so by the company. So, the safety has become a concern now. 3. BYD's roadside assistance was very basic as the customer has to pay for any damage that happens during towing. In my case, I was asked to pay around 3.5 lakhs for towing damages. Because the insurance pays only for accidental damage but not for the towing damage. So, I am made responsible for the damage caused by BYD. I did not even complete my first 1000 km. I am now wondering what I gained by buying this car. ...
I personally feel that the air vents look a bit out of place and the tweeter and door handles It looks like an after thought like aftermarket AC units in old fiats Just a personal opinion no offence
You can read about the BYD Atto 3 review here > www.autocarindia.com/car-reviews/byd-atto-3-review-characterful-and-slick-to-drive-426560
34 Lakh, i guess it's actual price will be around 17 Lakh and the rest will be tax for driving on the awesome Ultra Durable and Modern Roads of India.
Good review.

It's funny. Elon Musk used to laugh at BYD, and now they might be making batteries for Tesla. Karma.

Amazing car
It will be revolution when BYD Actually enters indian market by starting Manufacturing unit!!
Even with CBU it seems worth it!
The interior is straight from science fiction movies 🥵🔥
Waiting for this! BYD will change the EV game altogether.
Price is comparable to diesel innova top model which doesnt even get a sunroof. kia ev6 with similar range cost almost double that pice , 400+ km real world range means you can even plan long trips!!! So its Well priced
sunroof is useless in india
That door opening system from inside is still in my mind😍
This is CaR of the year
From outside it looked like cross child of Creta and Seltos, but interior blown my mind....such a futuristic interior
Byd is king of electric car
I dont think that there is another 500km range car within this price bracket
0 to 100 in 7.3 secs is "reasonably" quick? Since when? These are phenomenal numbers for Indian market!
The interiors are a 10/10 but seems a bit costly for what it offers. Maybe due to its battery tech ? If the battery lifetime is good compared to the regular one and/or safer compared to standard setups, then this car can be considered
I was waiting for it since so long, Thanks a ton Autocar 👍
We need the BYD dolphin here in India. ❤️
i am waiting for the day these companies will start making full size seven seater ev suvs with real life range above 500 km and price under 50 lakh.
34 lakhs? aight, im out
I own BYD ATTO 3. It is super good! 👍👏💪🇸🇬
I have seen in roads really it's a premium car
Tomorrow if I have that budget I wouldn't think of buying this SUV :)
I'm already a fan of this car 😍 but when I saw Pravaig Defy 💥 man I can't take my eyes from it.
I love byd , been following this company since 4 years so happy finally in india I'll visit the show rooms but can't buy the car 😂
Most people would logically go for the XUV 400 or Tata Nexon EV. Great product but very expensive?
Its better than XUV and miles above the Cheap Nexon.
It's a CBU unit, imagine when they will start their factory in india
Just wait for more charging station to be installed and go for either XUV 400 or Nexon ev max
Both have less than 300 real world range .how is that even a comparison? Premium vs mid segment
Chinese cars are getting better... In fact they are designing some good looking cars now.
How about Ground Clearance? It seems pretty low for our roads..
In terms of tech loaded features, Defy could be the best if they can deliver it on time....
For ₹35L Could go for Innova Hycross Full Hybrid plus th difference in Petrol

Hey BYD, sell a sub Rs.10,00,000 EV in India and watch Patriotism vanish instantly.
Hope there will be Atto 2 or 1 soon, at much lower price points.
Great review. I am told the 12inch screen can be replaced with the 15inch screen fitted from the more expensive cars.
The way it's priced makes it rival no one
Would technically slot between the kona electric and the ev6
I read the title as BYO Alto. BYO Bring your Own.
Somewhere in my mind says BYD might capture the Indian ev market
Base price starts from 24 lakhs, man i think i’ll switch to byd soon let’s see how it performs for now
Does it have auto dimming IRVM ?
What a fascinating Design!!
I think that the speedo console is borrowed from BYD Olectra EVBUS !
Anyways great 👍👏😊 product
It's Euro Ncap 5 star safety rated!!
The beast in its segment
Need to see the real world performance
I would still appeal who can afford German luxury cars should buy this
The interior is 👌
For 35 lakhs on road- 800 km range should be the norm.
Puncture repair kit instead of spare wheel... WTF?
I have seen this car on the highway; not a lot of people will buy this car in India; very pricey indeed
If only the company could sqeeze the price just under 25 lakhs on road somehow, it would sell like hot cake.
A person spending 35 Lakhs for a car would not mind spending for petrol than drive with range anxiety...If it is electric ; it should be cheap...
On my list 😍
Why the license plate is tilted?
Ioniq next. Year might give touch compitition
Thought it's overpriced as soon as I heard the price but after looking at the interiors....
Ev's are still to evolve . I still feel after 5 yrs is the best time to buy EV
Now atto price starts at 24.99L
BYD Atto 4 / Seal starts from 25l in China and Tata sells Nexom ev max at 20 l🤦♂️
BYD atto 3 in India is 35l.
BYD should manufacture in India.
Alien car
We can buy one b by d auto or two next one electric prime
Cars above 20L in India should come with L2 autonomy
Wow I think this is a nice car as our next option but our car has only 69000 km and it would be too early to dump it.
Amazing.
Xaomi of cars- BYD

...
The body design won't exactly turn heads... But it sounds like the construct is solid...
We rule the net
This gonna be the best seller car in India
People are worried about other things I'm out here stuck on inconsistent steering. That shit is annoying as hell in the long run.
After 2025, the cost of battery pack, which is the route cause of cost, will come down considerably, and we have to wait till 2025.
5Star NCAP wow
AWD expected at this price 👿
its expensive bcse of govt taxes . i hv bought one in Nz for 23 lac on road
Looks like facelift creta .
Please make range test video 👍👍
Is it Chinese company??
Does it get ventilated seats??
In future there will be a fierce only battle between chinese & Indian cars...
34 lac wtf 😳
byd is like ola just entering the market make a revolution in ev
Too costly and with taxes it will be difficult to afford even if the consumer somehow manages 33 lakhs.
Looks Good. BYD 👍.
😍
I personally feel that the air vents look a bit out of place and the tweeter and door handles
It looks like an after thought like aftermarket AC units in old fiats
Just a personal opinion no offence
Father of Tesla at that price
Good fr initial impression..not good fr the long run..u will get bored with it over time
So buy a boring car to begin with?
didn't like the childish gaming like interior😂
👍👍👍
Tata Mahindra will go extinct like Micromax. Outdated.
Let's see ..who will buy this..your fav car...
India doesn't have enough electricity production. EVs will likely fail and people will move to petrol or hybrids
🔥💯
Doesn't look expensive or luxury...
don't buy Chinese car..... chala tu Chand Tak nahi toh shyam tak
Don't think that interior will age well.
The cabin could not be more grosser!!!!
The interior is so ugly. Doesn't looks like a 35L car. Hope they hire better designers.
Exterior not so sexy 😅
Nobody in their right mind would purchase this, even the ones looking exclusively for electric.
Why not ?
Reason ??
Tata harioir ev
Tesla copy
It's better to go with tata and Mahindra
Tooo costly...
