February 13th, 1956 (pre Ed Sullivan appearance) my Aunt and my Mom went to see Elvis perform at the Paramount theater in New Port News, Virginia. After the concert, they waited in line at a nearby record store to get his autograph. As my Mom reached Elvis, we think he recognized her as being one of the screaming girls near the front stage of the concert so he passionately held and kissed my Mom. She was 16 years old and it was her very first kiss!💋She was a life long fan and was completely crushed when he died. My sister and I inherited that same love for Elvis

I was in the front row, center for an Elvis concert. Got a scarf and my knees went weak. He loved to play with the front row. By the way, his rule for concerts was that only fans got the first 10 rows. Freebies and celebrities were after row 10.

There were others hitting key notes, or he just did some hurried up version. But who knows? MJ was a freak of nature. He certainly was doing it by the time of that last film. I've done a lot of live shows; not anywhere at their level, and it is mind boggling how someone like MJ, Prince, Madonna keep so many dance steps, lighting cues, where to stand at what time, and then hit all notes and words in sync. And still look good.

The reason that I think no one will ever be like Elvis again- he wasn’t just amazingly gifted, but completely humble and at home in his own skin. Your gut says this is Elvis. Yes, he was gorgeous but he could also be the guy next door that would make you welcome anytime and invite you in for coffee. He was the best looking and biggest star on the planet, but he never had to that snob attitude. He was incredibly gracious and giving. A lot of people think he didn’t have a lot of money left because he wasted it. No, that man gave away so much to so many people. And a lot of those people were complete strangers.

I don't know what happened from these performances to what allegedly became of Elvis prior to his death, but it was a tragedy that we haven't recovered from 45 yrs down the track! I believe he grew tired of the fishbowl existence as he was empathetic, compassionate and spiritual, the lifestyle and constant performing ate away at his soul and was losing his true self. He was the consummate giver, why he gave so much of himself to his fans and money to strangers. We still morn his loss at such a young age. May he R I P 🥰😇😍🤩😘

  • @stevepomeroy-rockin-pa-realtor

Back then, your gurl loved you more for TAKING HER to an Elvis concert. You just gotta be understanding to give ya girl her moment :) If Elvis was her thang.. you gonna give ya girl her moment, or you dont get yours later -- or in some rare cases -- ever again!! :) hahahaha But no doubt, there were PLENTY of men that liked Elvis as well. He sung about real life stuff that guys could directly relate to. Passion & skills just off the chain. Many to this day feel he was the GOAT... it was just a unique experience.

I have listened to Elvis since 1956 n yes im old now but Elvis music keeps me young. I only got to his Alohat Concert 1973 that was broadcasted around the world and seen by 1.5 Billion people. I was 21 n even jumped up in my seat n thru him a kiss n I think he saw me as at that time I was the only crazy girl to stand up. I sat 3rd row center n couldn't take my eyes off of him I never got to meet Elvis but became good friends with Charlie Hodge his confidant and best friend for 8years after Elvis died. I wrote a journal about the stories that Charlie told me. I did get a kiss from Charlie. Oh at the Love Me Tender performance someone said he kissed around 45 girls Now I hope you reacted to Bridge Over Troubled Water Vagus 1970, Polk Salad Annie1970 Vagus, American Trilogy Aloha concert 1973( this was a big favorite of his fans n 500 more. I saw him in 77- his last tour. I took my Mom, my Aunt and my Fiance. My Aunt gave him flowers-went down to the stage to get near Elvis hoping for a kiss. She was mesmerized. My Mom was too but She stayed in Her seat with Me and my Girl. My Girl knew better. The Ladies kept coming all night long. After Elvis left the building the whole front of the stage was covered with flowers, notes, and various pieces of Women's clothes(ha ha). Yes he kissed and hugged a lot of them. They were throwing themselves at Him he had no choice. They tried to pull Him off the stage.Security had to pick them up and take them out. Was at Norfolk Scope.

Fun reaction, thank you. It seems like you hit on most of the stuff but let me also point out the incredible bass playing going on. It's just mind-blowing. He always had the best musicians and I love the fact that he had a lot of diversity in his band. And apparently they all loved him and he was very funny offstage. But mostly I would like to point out that he was essentially an athlete. If you look at his early stuff that people like to impersonate like Jailhouse Rock or hound dog oh, yeah they're really short and you don't get a whole lot of who he really is but he's doing almost impossible things. And at this point he's a lot older but he's still in fantastic shape and some of those deep lunges that he does where he just holds it and yeah you're right man, his singing voice just still is there even when he's winded. And then he does that slow rise up? That is so physically taxing. And of course he always makes his band members feel right at home. He's almost kind of a goofball but he's also really serious and just mad Talent. He was an extraordinary character.

And the girls still go crazy!!!! The men did not have control over whether their girl was going to go kiss him because she was going to kiss him regardless of anything. She forgot all about him when Elvis walked on that stage. My mom was lucky enough to see him live before I came along. He was the first man I ever had a crush on when I was a little girl and I'm only 51. The world was a more beautiful place when he was in it. I think he's the only musical artist I have ever truly mourned his death because I knew that there was never going to be anything new from him, we would never be able to hear those velvety tones live again and that's sad for the world. I'm grateful for what he left us though. I think the whole world mourned his death. But I don't think there's an artist alive today or has been since that could compare to Elvis. He was unique and special.

I still remember, even at 10 years old, the day it was announced that Elvis died. I recognized it as a big event. Still, even though I knew most of his music throughout his life, I didn’t truly become a fan until I visited Graceland in 2006. My wife is a huge huge fan, so I’ve learned alot about him from her.
